  1. Thanks Denis - looks like start low & increase by trial & error. I'm thinking FM1 @ 0% ('off switch', FM2 20%, FM3 30% for first flight. Is there any point in any heading hold settings at this stage? I've heard they can potentially be more trouble than they are worth for normal flying. Any ideas on priority settings? I'm using the Spektrum PC programming download for set ups, and unfortunately this has none of the help/explanation/guidance info apparently available on the iPhone or Android phone apps (and the video tutorials all assume you are using these and constantly refer to the help button for detailed guidance). 2. Intend installing new AR636 Rx in a scale Lockheed Vega, and wonder if anyone has any advice on typical gain settings for this type of model. There are forum posts elsewhere offering experience with 3D types (quite low settings around 15% on conventional gain) but suggesting much higher values for more sedate sport/scale types - no figures offered. I am guessing 40% - 60% might be OK to start, but would welcome advice on typical figures from anyone who has already got sorted with this system.
  3. I'm drawing up my next scratch project (Vega 5) and want to make sprung oleos from elliptical section telescopic tubing. I can't find anything ready made, so thought I might 'squash' circular section aluminium or brass tubing to suit. Anyone tried it? Any problems or tips?
  4. Thanks Dave - I'm sure the Tx will last as long as the airframe, but the long game is to salvage the Rx/motor etc for future scratch project(s). I'm told this is the cost effective way of getting the gear together - although I'm looking forward to plenty of fun with the 'Moth on the way! Pete B - thought so - what a shame! I've just got the Parkzone ultra micro P51 as well - bound to my DX8. Season's Greetings to All
  5. Bought Ares Tiger Moth 75 (2.4GHz) - anyone know if possible to bind to a Spektrum Tx (Dx8) instead of the crummy little thing provided?
  6. Nothing wrong with your landings - fast or slow - it's just loss of directional control in the roll-out. A turn develops, then a skid, tipping the aircraft onto a wigtip, which reverses the yaw, wheels alternately 'digging in', hence 'waddle', high CG = nose-over. Increasing rudder area would be a travesty on such a nice scale model, but you could try larger rudder throws, and adding a trickle of power just before the point the ground loop starts to develop. And always land straight into wind! Good Luck. John
  7. I'm using 6.6v 750mAh Rx batteries. I thought I could recharge on my Graupner Ultramat 14 charger, but it only gives NiMh, LiPo & LiIo options. Online their Ultramat 14 Plus seems to have superceded my model, and does claim to charge LiFe. Anybody know if there is a cheaper way than replacing my existing charger? Are there any inexpensive dedicated LiFe chargers out there?
