  2. @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css); Thank you all very much for the kind words, I wouldn't be at this stage if it wasn't for Tim's guidance and help and I am really looking forward to seeing both B52 fly on the Orme it will all be worth it at the end. Three weeks ago I was looking at Tim's back end ! of the B52 LOL thinking to myself I will never get this far! and I feel good about getting to this point hence, the huge grin on my mug...   I Have installed the servos and Bind the RX to the TX and all seem to be moving in the right direction.   Tim, just letting you know that the Balsa glueing worked really well, and now both sections are in their saddles. So in the next couple of days the should be glued nicely to the foam.             @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);

  4. Lol, Richie Shame we missed you this morning. I had a near miss with my B52 but was rescued by Bombadier Tim !! No need to take notes, it's easier to pick up the phone See you soon. Zaidy
  5. You lucky bunch. Sorry I missed it. Fingers crossed for next year..
  6. As a regular visitor to the Orme, I can say absolutely that NO ONE will target an un-willing flier in my experience. There has been a number of occasions where people do not wish to participate in a combat session (new to the site or gliding all together or not into it) and they were left to their own devices. But most soon warm up to the idea and can't get enough of combat flying. All people involved in combat usually have a great time and keep a watchful eye for members of the public and common sense always prevails.
  7. I think the ST Blaze is really good fun glider to have
  8. Posted by Djay on 25/08/2011 12:19:47: Hello Steve, as I work at Dubai airport I thought I would give my feed back on this. The queues were probably due to the fact the airport is so busy there were probably 20 planes arriving at the same time as you, as they all arrive at certain times of the day, and sometimes especially this time of year, Ramadan, they are short staffed and work short hours. If you were in the new terminal 3, which is Emirates terminal, then the only reason the toilets were dirty is because some traveller just before you messed them up. I have to say the place is spotless, toilets included, as is the whole cit of Dubai. It makes UK look like a cess pit. I have yet to find a dirty toilet here in the city, even in the oldest parts. Not that I go looking for them as a hobby. The whole terminal is enormous and not one area is dirty or overcrowded or 3rd class. Are youy sure that you did not go through terminal 2? which is for the local area flights , ie Iran, Iraq, India, that is a bit grubby, but to call termianl 1 or 3 dirty is a definate no. I am sorry you had a bad experience but did you complain to anyone. This may be classed as those who do not know, a backward Arab country, but believe me it is far more advanced, cleaner, and modern than UK will ever be, and they take complaints seriously. Hope you have a better experience on the return journey.   As for the poppy seed incident, I think you will find it is a bit more than what you read in the papers, ie he had traces of drugs on his shoes as well.. If you go to the supermarkets, Carrefour or Waitrose amongst them, you can buy the french sticks with poppy seeds on, the same breads as you would buy in Tesco.or buy tubs of poppy seeds as well. remember what you read in the papers is grossly exaggerated otherwise no one would read them, and the incidents are so isolated that when something does happen it makes Dubai out to be a terrible place to be. If I believe all that is in the papers about UK no one would want to go there or live there,   This place has the most freedom of way of life and speech than anywhere else in the world. As long as you do not ridicule their religion there is nothing you can not do, get or want here.   Nigel, you should see what the women wear under the Abayas (head to toe thing). Sexy underwear and sexy clothes, as they are only a thin cover, and sometimes the younger ones let them swing open.   Steve, Please do not take this as a rant against you, just some observations about the place and I am sorry for your experience.   Darryl   ps, the pay for lounge is normally, with Emirates, the business class lounge, hence the charge. Edited By Djay on 25/08/2011 12:23:30 I couldn't have said it better. I fly through Dubai airport once every 5 weeks, the only bad comment I can make about the airport is the disorganized security queues/checks, yes its very busy but they really need to address the problem with queues its only getting worse with time. Apart from that it is one of the best airport I have ever been in, after Singapore where you have a swimming pool for passengers on long trans-fares ! I hope you have a pleasant return journey back home through Dubai. Regards Zaidy
  9. Can be viewed okay by Google Chrome but NOT by Safari or Opera for iPAD, the last post that can be viewed is by Steve on the 24th/7 at 23:52.!!!!@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  10. OH, new TX   That is what I did after struggling a bit with the DX7 ! Ended up getting an 11X which should see me through for a long long time.   But, wait and see if Tim can come up with something.   When Tim programmed my DX7, he set it all up on a bench before trying it out on the model all with couple of servos and a RX it really worked well. I was so impressed I copied his bench set up and it came in very useful when I was programming the Luna.   Regards     @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  11. Yep, Timbo is definitely your man, but while you are waiting for a reply try plugging into the   Thro channel and use mix 1: Thro-FLAP: on a switch like flight mode switch, then Set your servo travel ..It should work, Timbo programmed my DX7 awhile back..Good luck
  12. Posted by RGPuk on 25/05/2011 09:56:24: Ah good, bigger and slower than a 46" so easier to hit LOL   That would seem logical. However ........ having a WT60, plus a couple of pals that have tried to take chunks out of it with their respective 46 Wildthing and 46 Fusion, the size disparity makes relative distances surprisingly difficult to judge and contact is therefore frustratingly infrequent.   I like the 60 ok, she can be made to shift with some lead in a blow, flies really well in light conditions, and has been a gem as a first slope machine, but I'd have a 46 next time. Here's hoping Alan is still doing them when the time comes.   Ro. you wish !!! I can fix the speed issue like you said with some lead LOL but that would be unfair !! Allan is still going strong, he only run out of the 60" as he was on holiday and didn't make enough stock. I will see how the 60 fly and might invest in a spare just in case ....   Zaidy @import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);

PS they are 46" not 48" as Marty said Yes I got the last 60" yesterday @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  14. I think a Blaze ST is a good powered glider and handles really well..
  15. I got into gliding late last year thanks to Tim and Jem and it's been such great fun after being anti gliding for so long as my first few experiences have not been very successful. I mainly fly heli's but this gliding stuff is soooo addictive I find it as enjoyable as helis if not more so some times especially during combat. We all stand together and some evenings you just don't want to go home I started with a Bedlam, Zaggi (RIP after yesterday !) a Luna and a wild thing in the post and the downside is I have to glue the model together before I take it flying Of course I look forward to good weather so I can fly power, but if it's blowing it's no big deal as I can go gliding and enjoy it as much if not more so. get out there and enjoy...............
