  1. Been mentioned before, but just to repeat, Aldi have some fantastic twin syringe 5 minute epoxy for £1.99! Good stuff, and loads in the syringes. They also have aphetic resin same price ( bit smelly though!!)
  2. Sorry forgot the link to the original conversion: **LINK** .
  3. Having seen this conversion online, I thought I'd like to have a go at something similar with my rather bashed up twinny. I have asked on here before regarding the twin rudder setup, which I have now sorted to my satisfaction....however...I've sort of changed tack with this, and have fallen in love with the idea of making it into a B-25 Mitchell-a-like ( in a kinda-sorta way), twin rudder, twin engine, new shape cockpit and nose, etc. I have the foam, I have the glue, I lack the talent ..( but do have the will! ), but...to get it looking right (ish), I'm going to have to cut the wings to shape. No problem, but anyone have an idea of how this will affect the flying characteristics of this oh-so stable trainer? Any ideas for making this a bit easier on a building newbie would be gratefully accepted. thank you, Chris.
  4. Bought a few planes off ebaym one is an exceed RC pitts. Now back to working order, but the foam is yellowed and discoloured. Any way to clean it, as soap and water are not working?
  5. WOW! Thank you all for your rapid responses. BMFA, here I come!
  6. I'm a lone flyer, and have been for a while. I usually fly in a remote area, with no close by habitation. However, a couple of recent incedents ( not related to myself) have prompted me to wonder about BMFA insurance. Does it cover lone flyers like myself, or would I have to join an affiliated club? ( I have nothing against clubs, I simply do not have the free time to travel to them - my nearest is a 30 minute journey, and I usually only have a few hours per week free). My personal site is only 5 minutes away. In the case that I lost control and damaged something on the far houses ( approx 1/3 mile away), would the BMFA insurance cover me?
  7. Just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere in West Yorkshire where I can buy depron sheets? I have bought online previously, but I only buy enough for my own use, and the postage costs are getting silly. Tried google for it, but so far....nothing. Any help on this would be greatfully recieved! Chris.
  8. Had my fantom for a while. lovely EDF very stable and forgiving, but....a bit...slow. Anyone have any suggestions for a replacement motor/ fan. on board is the stock 5100KV job. I'd prefer to continue with the 3s lipo setup as well ( as I have many! ).Thanks in advance!
  9. I managed to teach myself with a GWS slow stick. Brilliant little plane, let down by the need for a near calm day for flying. After getting the rudiments of control, I progressed to a Hobbyzone supercub. Wonderful plane ( with the 'training' system turned off!). Practically flew itself, with only minor corrections from myself to go where I wanted it to go. Three or so years later I can now happily fly most things, twins, bipes and EDFs. It can be done, it just takes perseverance ( and probably more cash than the average club learner spends! )
  10. Thanks for the welcome! I fly 'leccy planes - only a small hangar at the moment. PZ radian, MPX Twinstar ( MK1), Phase 3 Fantom, TT ehawk 2000, GWS zero, HZ supercub and a couple of depron shockies. hoping that both time and my wallet will allow me to get more, and actually have the time to fly them!
  11. Not sure if this is the best place to put this, but I'm a newbie. Basically, whats the best ( and possibly cheapest?) way of printing your own decals using an A4 inkjet printer? I have found some A4 sticky paper on ebay, but do I use pure white or transparencies? Matt or gloss?Apologies if this has been covered many times before, but I'm not sure which topic to post this thread in.
  12. Been on the site before, with one post. Just want to say 'ello to the forum.Been flying for a few years, and just had a years sabbatical due to work, childcare and vile weather. I'm a solo flyer ( once again due to work and childcare) and hope that some of you can answer a few of my questions. Based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. 13. Thanks for the reply! I did a search before posting, but nothing like I'm looking for pops up.According to the site, It was featured in RCME, but I have no Idea which issue. For the most part it seems straightforward, but I'd like some info on the cockpit change and how the twin tail was constructed.I have some depron lying about, and was going to use that.
  14. Looking for details of a conversion on an old (MK1) twinstar. Really interested in doing something similar. Any help appriciated. **LINK** is where I've seen it, but I can't find any more details.
