  1. Bugger, both the above mentioned engines are on back order. Noise isn't a problem as im in direct competition with the noise of a near by Go Cart racing club and Im about a mile from the nearest house.
  2. Yes its some sort of composite fuse + Built up wings.
  3. ok, heres a pic of it, if anyone can ID the kit from it
  4. Thanks for the replies, and I will answer some of the questions :- Make of the kit - no idea to be honest, and The person who gave it to me didn't know ether ( he was given it as well ). Weight - It actually weighs about the same as my old 55" span Cambrian spitfire ( 5lb without the engine ). So its fairly light for its size but I recon it will be quite draggy due to its fat face. Where is here - Tip of South West Scotland, About as close as you get before your wet then Irish. Petrol would just be so much easier for me to get when I needed it. Based on whats been mentioned for engine size, looking at :- NGH GT25 Two Stroke Petrol Engine from Just Engines or RCG 26cc Gas engine w/ CD-Ignition from Hobbyking
  5. Hi. I have been given a 74 inch span p47. Its never been completed nor flown and Id like to get it in the air eventually. I have no idea of the make of the kit but it looks like an ARTF, and its fairly light for its size. As getting glow fuel here is near impossible I was thinking about Petrol. No having ever had a petrol powered model before Im not sure what size of motor would be needed for this kit ( I think it was for a .60+ glow engine ). I also gather I would need differed fuel tubing and tank etc for petrol. So anyone got some pointers on an approximate petrol engine size to look for and where to get the required fuel resistant tubing? Or anything else I should be aware off ? thanks.
  6. I have one. Had it for 4 years now, in its box............ Found out my limited workspace was a tad too limited to put it together. I was going to do it Electric. Got as far as getting the motors and speed controllers for it.
  7. Im not sure I would be comfotable trying a foam conversion. Visions of a fast moving fireball......... Its an interesting idea but im not sure I would be able to convert a faom model, safely. Im more looking for an idea of whats available for that size of turbine, without conversions.
  8. Hi. I have access to a small 3lb thrust Gas Turbine and Im looking for a suitable airframe to give it a home. Length is 112 mm, diameter, 55mm. Any advice or recommendations on an airframe to suit it ????
  9. Looks fantastic. But I suspect it would be well out of my budget range though.
  10. @ Bernie - I mostly end up flying on my own due to the times that im available to fly which leaves me without a cameraman. But even when i do get flying with the others in my club, there not the best with the ole' camecorder. Theres is a couple or 3 videos taken by the camecorder on the youtube channel, some by me, some by whoever I was able to hijack into taking a video. There are camcorder videos of the A-10, Tornado, Spifire and my C-130 on the channel but they do end up as blurrovison quite often or scenery shots minus the aircraft. I need a way of flying and taking video on my own. @John Melia1 - Thanks. I have flown from there since 1985, long before our club existed. But now its hard to get any one interested in the hobby and membership is low and the land owner is not making enough money off us apparently.
  11. Go for it, whats the worst that could happen.............
  12. Oh the A-10's are not quick. Its a slow airframe, even with twin fans. My one had 2x 55mm fans running off a single 11.1v 1800mha battery. They can be very very manouverable if you want them to be and great for the low level passes. Only think I would say is watch the thrust from the motors. it blows air directly onto the elevator = you get more elevator response than you expect. But on the flip side if you cut the motors, you get a lot less response than you expect. Setting dual rates is a must.
  13. I "Had" an no name radom ebay job version of the A-10 ( Now deceased ). It died during the summer after extended years of flying it like a nutter.
  14. Nice A-10. I miss my A-10. it was damn near indestructible. I also have the GWS C-130, stock motors, 3cell 1000mha lipo running all 4 motors. it flies very scale like at 1/2 power and runs for about 12 min like that.
