  1. I finally got my CAP 21 finished, heres a few pics. I does fly well, I just need to practice my knife edges now. Take a note of the superb stunt pilot !!
  2. Hi  I managed to get one from my local model shop, at a very reasonable £4.99. Yet another reason for supporting your local model shops,
  3. Thanks for the leads guys I will check them out.
  4. Hi does anyone out there have, or knows where I can get hold of a spare rear needle valve assembly that can fit on my OS40LA,  I had one of those unfortunate landings where the ground arrived far quicker than I expected!! Yeah I crashed!! This landing completely demolished my black horse twister and snapped off the nipples on the needle valve. The valve assembly is the black plastic type which fastens to the rear of the engine with a metal bracket.  Any help is most appreciated. Mark.
  5. Thanks Martin,  I will get back into the garage after Xmas to carry on with the project.  The wife says I will be far too busy before Xmas, She's no fun!!
  6. Thanks Peter for the Vortex contact number. I called and he is sending me the canopy. Martin that sounds a pretty reasonable set up. Did you have to alter the position of F1 to mount you motor, or did you build a mount for it. As far as the knife edge goes I still have not mastered that manoever!! But hope to have a go with this model.
  7. Hi all, I've been building the CAP 21, i have tried to make my own canopy but it just doesn't look right.  I have tried to get on the Vortex Vacform website but i cant get on!! tried www.vortex-vacforms.co.uk but it won't load. can anyone tell me where I can get hold of the canopy elsewhere or does anyone have an email address for vortex. I am also considering going electric with this model. I reckon I will probably need about a 600W set up. Does the weight in the spec in the mag (4lb 3oz) include th engine, servos and radio, can anyone give suggestions to motor ESC and battery set up. Cant wait to fly this little baby!! Mark.
  8.  I have just got hold of a fairly old irvine 61 sport r/c ringed engine, in pretty good condition, which I intend to put into my Kyosho AgWagon. Problem is that it hasn't come with a silencer.  The engine has the exhaust screw holes drilled and tapped into the cylinder, so the scews go in through the silencer and screw into the engine.  This is different to all the other engines I have, Can anyone tell me where I can get hold of a suitable silencer. Also what prop size should I be looking at for this engine and model.
  9. Hi all, does anyone know where I could get hold of a engine cowl for a Kyosho AgWagon. I know that the model is discontinued but I'm hoping someone somewhere might have a spare. It's a shame to see this great plane with a shabby cracked cowl.
  10. Thanks for the sympathy guys, but if you you just have to keep smiling when things go bad. At least now I realise that it's not only me that bad things happen to. Phil after reading your unfortunate story it made me reaslise that my garage roof is leaking slightly, and yes, that is where my wings are stored. Time to move them or fix my roof, I think!!. My father has been learning to fly and is getting on quite well with the buddy box with one of our club instructors. On Sunday he was practicing his landing finals, when he was lining up with the patch he was trying to get between 2 trees (at least 100mtrs apart), and yes you can guess whats comming, flew it straight into the left hand tree. The instructor kept saying "mind the tree" but he still hit it. Oh well! After I got it back from the tree my Dad just laughed. He has a good sense of humour as well!! Keep the stories coming lads, they do put a smile on my face.
  11. Hi Derek, I got the carb. Many thanks, it's great to know that there are good helpful fellow flyers out there. You're a superstar.
  12. Hi Derek, that sounds great. If you want to call me I will email you my number.
  13. Does anyone know where I can get hold of a carburetor for the OS 40LA engine. I have had a bit of a heavy landing (understatment!!) and snapped off the inlet nipple into the carb, which comes from the needle valve. I know the OS part no. fro the carb is OSMG2421. I dont think the snapped nipple is a replacable part as it seems to be glued in place not screwed. Will another carb fit? Can the nipple be replaced? Any help gladly received.
