  1. No matter which way I try to bind the two either teacher TX on first or the Royal Evo in blind mode first the master TX does not find the pupil, is there a setting somewhere that is preventing this thanks for all the help.
  2. Posted by Max Z on 25/09/2018 19:12:57: I don't want to sound pedantic, but then again I don't know how big your "gap in understanding" is, do you realise that your Evo 7 should have been converted to M-Link (2.4 gHz)? Edited By Max Z on 25/09/2018 19:13:59 Sorry its not that big LOL ! the Royal Evo is 2.4 M link.
  3. On the screen of the SX9 there is a search for pupil transmitter option which I guess is the equivalent of the press button on the dongle I will try it this way around many thanks. Paul.
  4. Can I ask for some help again please from you Multiplex guys, 30 years of Futaba makes me a dummy ! I have installed the copilot module into my SX9 which seems to be working. Can I use a Royal Evo 7 as the pupil transmitter and if so how do I get it to bind ? there may be a huge gap in my understanding sorry !!
  5. Hi again , another question , my cockpit sx9 speaker makes white noise with what (being a layman) I would describe as computer processor sounds, which is audible when in the house setting up. This happens whether the sound it turned to mute or whether the audible warnings are on or not. The audio works fine. Would you consider this a fault or possibly normal ? I don't know whether it did this before I installed 1.4 firmware. Advice appreciated ? thanks.
  6. Thanks guys , I had a good look around and found the flap screen in the mix and made it a flat line ! really grateful for the help. Paul.
  7. Yes thanks probably a good idea, it is annoying that in the mix that control isn't disabled I am wondering whether to start again and try using free mixers instead of their 4 servo wing built in mix ! Thanks for interest.
  8. I have a cockpit sx9 which I have just bought and installed firmware version 1.4. I have a problem which I am hoping someone can help me with please. I have just managed to set up my 4 servo wing glider following the latest instructions. I am left with an issue which I can't resolve, I use butterfly i.e. ailerons up full flap on the throttle stick. Unfortunately the left roller on the rear of the tx still controls the flaps and I can't figure out how to disable it. I need to disable it as I will fiddle with it in flight !! Returning to the hobby after a lot of years away , help appreciated. Good wishes.
  9. Help again please (sorry !) I have a het 700 68 2100 motor in my fan, the info I can find says the esc should be set to low motor timing. My esc is looking for a figure, not low, could someone point me as to where the motor timing should be set figure wise ? Thanks Paul.
  10. I would appreciate some advice please, I have a jet fan 80 with a het 700 68 2100 which is assembled . The three motor wires are short and tinned and I clearly need to extend these to reach the esc location. I do not want to use two sets of gold plugs and wondered the best way to hardwire to the motor. I am a beginner to edf but experienced modeller. I have seen the hard wiring that you can pay to have done and wonder what is done to get it neat and reliable ? any advice appreciated. Good wishes.
  11. I am kitting up an EDF jet powered by 6s 5000mah which has electric retracts. I propose to do the following and would welcome comments about whether electrically it is ok ..... I aim to take the + - wires from the ESC BEC to solely power the retracts, leaving the signal wire to go to the retract channel on the RX. I will then install a Castle Creations 20A BEC soldered into the battery connector of the ESC to power the RX and 8 servos. I would welcome any advice about whether this is OK ? Many thanks Paul
  12. Thanks Pete/Lee, The aircraft has not arrived yet so can't measure the nose but 5kg is probably about a flying weight ! One of the german sites seems to speak of the Mega 22/45/3e but from what I understand this may be a little anaemic ! Cheers Paul.
  13. Hi can anyone advise me on the selection of a motor for my Valenta Thermik XL 4 metre glider. I want a respectable rate of climb rather than hotliner type performance but much of the advice on the net is in German ! and difficult to understand. Any help appreciated. Paul.
  14. My dog could make a similar video ! only he would be opening cupboard doors to tear food containers apart.   Paul.
  15. Perhaps a little way to go before you can shoot a similar video ! LOL   Paul.
  16. Perhaps a little way to go before you can shoot a similar video ! LOL   Paul.
  17. Looks a lot like your dog Tim !   Paul.
  18. Had a great day met an old friend, and spoke as though we had never been apart. Only down side when I got home the aircraft was covered with insects and had to set to and wash and polish !   Now must finish my models and meet Tim for a fly.   Paul.
  19. Thanks to all, have ordered some esaki tissue from Sams and will use the methods you suggest. Will post how I get on.   Paul.
  20. Hi All,   I am trying to regain skills I last used 40yrs ago without much success at the moment !   I am building the Tony Nijhuis Mossie 46 and want to tissue cover the surface which is obviously all solid sheet. I have bought some 'Ben Buckle' tissue which I guess is probably 24gsm. I need some guidance if you will, I have tried some experiments with the tissue on some scrap, I have applied the tissue wet smoothed it out and thinned doped through it, I have applied it dry using thinned white glue and with each experiment it simply dries out without sticking to the balsa. I would really appreciate someone telling me how to do this, when I was thirteen it seemed easy forty years later it looks impossible LOL perhaps this says something about what we learn through life LOL.   Thanks   Paul.
