  1. Must be, must ask the other 6 guys who fly on the sites, oh, and the number of others who ask to fly on the sites
  2. As I own a national transport company I have two large depots and each has large areas of perfect tarmac, both are well out of the way and flying of any kind will not disrupt anyone as the nearest house is over one mile away and it is mine. I allowed a model club to use the third, again an ex RAF site with a runway, the hassle that I had from them with back room politics was not worth it, too many people who actually had never experinced what they were judging trying to contorl others who had experince, in the end the club was told to leave the site. Oh, one last point, all three sites have planning permission for model flying
  3. Quite alot actually and why I dont submit my models for review by people with no knowledge of the types of models that I fly. I have access to three very large areas of concrete runways with no obstructions at all and guess what, no club committee and no clubs on these sites.
  4. Club committe to sign of a model - joke, how does been on a club committee give you the technical jnowledge to judge a model...
  5. Plenty of sites in and around Leeds where you can fly, some with runways others are grass. What part of Leeds are you in ? Let me know and I can be more specific PANDAS is a well used club and you will still need your A cert to fly
  6. Thanks for the responses so far, the Lipo is a 6S and all cells check out OK, this was my initial thought but the ESC was also checked with another Lipo and the ESC was the same. I will check out the Hacker Website for the manual, I have the paper manual and no clues in there Andy
  7. Recently purchased a Hacker 80A ESC and this weekend I started to assemble the motor (Hacker A50/16S), ESC and LiPo (Hacker 3800 6S) into the model, When I connected the ESC into the system and hooked up the LiPo the ESC made a quick two tone beep, I started to open the throttle and the motor spun up and then slowed up to a stop, even when I am opening the throttle, this happens every time. Is the ESC in "safe mode", if so how do I get the ESC into normal mode ? LiPo cells all ok and showing correct voltage, motor is not binding, throttle TX end stops all OK, Thanks Andy
  8. Hi, many years ago i built most of my models from plans, for the wings i mainly used foam wings from two sources in the north of England, the first was Ronnie Miller in Leeds and the second was Geoff Mosley of Dalesman Models in Saltaire. Have spent some time on ARTF's I am now looking to build once again from plans, I am looking for a good supplier of foam wings, I would appreciate if anyone in the forum could recommend a good supplier of foam wings. Models to start - Atlas (Matt) and Illusion (Nicholls) Thanks Andy
  9. Thank you for your advise, it is appreciated and I am looking to learn   Very positive   Blue
  10. First of all, my apologies for what seems to be a basic question but I have two Overlander Lipos, a 2700 Extreme and a 2500 Sport, I used these earlier in the year and used a Elysium Charger to charge them, using a 2700 charge for the 2700 Extreme and a 2500 charge setting for the 2500 Sport.   Having not used the Lipos for a few months I charged them and flew both batteries, taking them out of the model after the flight I noticed that the 2700 was swollen, later I noticed that the 2500 was also swollen. I was told by a club member that I should not use them anymore and to safely dispose of them.   My question is why did they swell ?   I am new to electric and my knowledge of Lipos is very limited. Do I hve to dis charge the Lipos, if so what frequency ?   Is there any special charge / dis charge requirements for storage of the Lipos ?   Any assistance in this issue would be appreciated   Thank you
