  2.   Sneak peak of the low res version of the RDMFC Aerotow vid, I think it captures the fun of the day well.   BB Edited By David Ashby - RCME on 01/08/2012 09:03:21
  3. Posted by FunnyFlyer on 31/07/2012 14:54:24: ...........bet youd soon moan if you red this sort of stuff in the monthly mag     *read    What a pointless thing to say, the contributers here dont get paid to write, and nor do the readers pay to read, differnent matter all together.   BB Edited By Barnesyboy on 31/07/2012 15:04:20
  4. Posted by Gaz Elliott on 31/07/2012 14:21:46: I am with bb on this one. English at level 2 ( or equivilant GCSE,CSE, O level)is not an entry requirement to the forum. People have varying degrees of knowledge in all manner of areas. As this is an open forum younger forumites will not have undergone 11 years of compulsory education, or our international friends who use english as a second language. Can they not use the site?? RC flying in all formats , that's the reason we all are here.   Agree Gaz Let us not forget the older generation that have enough trouble logging in nevermind typing to a A level standerd.   Get real guys and keep the RC forum about RC   BB Edited By Barnesyboy on 31/07/2012 14:27:21
  5. some people dont understand current watts and amps, I dont understand , " : - and spelling dose that make me a lesser person worse flier, rubbish builder, poor husband, bad business manager etc etc BB
  6. If were adding our own gripes then for me its people that point out spelling and punctuation mistakes.   Sorry if it offends, just my thoughts. Its a RC flying forum about RC flying not an English exam. Posts will reduce if people are critical trust me I know.   Please feel free to mark the mistakes with a red pen and post the results to somone that gives a damm.   BB Edited By Barnesyboy on 31/07/2012 13:48:18 Edited By Barnesyboy on 31/07/2012 13:48:30

  9. Nice Jobs boys, Ive been very lasy and havenbt touched mine for a week or so, really need to find some time to get back on it BB
  10. I had no problem with up on the controls, I did find it tight going down so gave it a light sand. You problem will most likley be the very fine tolorance on the bottom side of the wing tempertaue swell will close the gap up give it a sand to open up the gap a few MM and you will be fine (I went abit mad and have a 6mm gap now My wings are now covered in 2 coats of varnish just trying to deside if I want wood look or am I painitng BB
  11. Good stuff. my wings are complete now bar covering or varnishing. will make a start on the fus today BB
  12. Strange question. Derk Van DeVetch is regarded as one of the best fliers in the world with highley tuned and set up planes, maily for his 30" ish flat plate foamies.   Likwise huge scale models are very impressive.   Dosnt matter what the model is or how big it is if its flown well it will be noticed.   BB Edited By Barnesyboy on 20/06/2012 17:35:36
  13. Its not to bad Lee the pics have squached abit due to the wonderful way you post pics on this forum. The fuse is alot rounder than the pic shows.   Its about 20mm at the thickest part I would guess   **LINK** Edited By Barnesyboy on 07/06/2012 14:02:57
  14. There here .......... 4no Hammers for me, Timbo and some club mates. Open the box       More to come when I start proper, but I will say the wings are BEAUTIFUL, very nicely made and hinged. all sanded and ready to go. Fuse is very nice and very strong with the inner nose and nose nice tight fits. BB Edited By Barnesyboy on 07/06/2012 13:08:18 Edited By Barnesyboy on 07/06/2012 13:08:47
  15. FWAL good man.   Tim Im debating wether to go mild F5D with a HET 2 W20 on a 5x5 (hight amp but ballistic) of keep it proper on somthing else, will see when it gets here how much room we have to play with   BB Edited By Barnesyboy on 21/05/2012 20:50:19
  16. Back to the matter in hand, in about a week I should have my Hammer so ive been looking into motor options for the E nose, Tthe makers suggest the following. EMAX BL 2810 11x7 Reg.40A EMAX BL 2815 11x7 Reg.40A EMAX BL 2826 13x6,5 Reg.60A Im looking for 1kw on 4,5 or 6s so if anyone has got any suggestions Im all ear's. But I guess the final outcome will be once I have the model in hand to see what actualy fits. BB
  17. Mr Devon, you of course are intitled to your opinion but I would just like to say Robert, the owner of Flying Dog is a real person and the company a real and very good one.   Ive had many an item off flying dog (as have atleast 5 of my club mates on numours ocations) and infact have met Rob on many occations at the indoor flying competitons that he requally puts his hands in his pockets for and sponsers even the Electric indoor Masters (also sponcered by that rather dodgy company RCM&E)   Somtimes we do get a good deal in this hobby, Maybe Rob should set up a shop and employ 3 people to answer phones and emails and charge 250 quid for the glider.   BB     Edited By Barnesyboy on 20/05/2012 21:07:00
  18. Thought I would share this with you, Ive just pulled the trigger on a Blejzyk Hammer Perhaps a new name for some of you Blezyk are a big name in polish gliders, and having had a lot of great purchaces from Rob @ Flying Dog, I saw the special offer on the Hammer and had to have one. Specs are on the website so no point repeating them here. Not a all singing and dancing moldie but also not 200 quid plus. and has a moldie level of pre fab done for you Mine will have savox 0257 in the wings and HS- 81mg in the fus, also like the electric cone included so will spec a sutible power train for flat field use to.   Should look somthing like this when Im done   Ive been away from the slope for a couple of years so hoppfully this will get me back, stay tuned to see, model arrives in a couple of weeks   BB Edited By Barnesyboy on 14/05/2012 19:29:47 Edited By Barnesyboy on 14/05/2012 19:47:53 Edited By Barnesyboy on 14/05/2012 19:58:09 Edited By Steve Hargreaves - Moderator on 15/05/2012 09:37:01
  19. Thanks Tim, Model is 3mm aero depron. I moved the battery further forward today and it flew alot better. I think my problem Sat was I was trying to fly it like a 3d model and not nice flowing scale lines. I will be doing a 10% bigger one just to see. The reaction I got today at the F3P comp with it was incredible the guys loved it so I must be doing something right. I will keep you all updated and try and get some flying vid sorted.  Thanks to Ultimate for these pics from Saturday   And my F3p model the BB Epic lends some scale Edited By Barnesyboy on 05/02/2012 19:16:30
  20. After having a 4 site and an Extra it was time for something a little different so a good friend of mine was briefed and came up with a plan for me.  Last night I threw it together and thought you may be interested 1st Coat of paint added badly  Guts out of a 4-site With its UMX Brother the Afriel Test flight this afternoon at our local indoor meet. It looks the part but will it fly? BB     Edited By Barnesyboy on 04/02/2012 10:05:19
  21. Just had a quick look at the on-line subs area. Flicked through to the EIM Review, wonder why. Great write up and some very kind words from Alex W and some good pics, Thanks Very much  BB
  22. http://imacuk.org/index.php?option=com_phocadownload&view=sections&Itemid=71 Test versions of the shedules can be found on the IMAC site too BB
  23. Lee, while you make some points I agree with others I just dont. Whats the point of a entry class if its not the basic layout as the higher classes? Learning the aresti figure for a loop or a roll is not difficult Lee. The basic schedule is no harder than a B cert flight. (although flown to a much higher standard which is harder)  Wingspan limit in the basic class is 74" so no monsters there.  Every comp last year was oversubscribed with several pilots on the reserve list, so no problem with attendances. F3A guys use 2mt composite airframes costing thousands to but you don't mention them.  Remind me the planes that won and placed high the HA Shootout seem to recall them being big  Think we need to agree to disagree.  BB - Who's moving on
  24. So its all about your feelings then not the requirement for the comp/class. Sorry your coments are opinions which is fair enough but it was read as facts! BB - who knows what your missing out on
  25. Posted by Lee Smalley on 19/11/2011 19:30:25: i have spoke to a few of the imac lads, personally to MB as well and expressed my view and why i would not be even contemplate joining, i do not agree on the power requirements the schedule has amongst other power hungry manouvers as a pull to the vertical with a snap on the up line, that requires huge amount of power, personally everything is flown so far away and so large that you require an obscenly large aircraft with vast amounts of power, with this emphasis, i can never see them gaining a large following, comps like the recent shootout (albeit with a silly fancy dress) are going to be far more interesting, i understand what you are saying about new developments, but generally those new developments are at the top end of the disipline with a price to match and that ignores 80% of those who fly aerobatics.   good luck with the column Shahid.     Sorry Lee,  I've been flying IMAC soprtsmans class for several years (couple of comps a year) and have used a 49" electric extra from Overlander (cost me £50 at the time) on 3s 2500 and in 2011 a 55" Overlander Extra on 6s (same 3s packs doubled up) heck I even splashed out on NEW Futarba 3003 servos for that one.   This year I will be moving to Intermediate class and due to my lack of ability to get a 50cc plane working properly I will more than likely continue to use the 55" Extra although I may go mad and put carbon control rods on it to help with blow back.    I have the trophies on the fire place to prove you don't need 170cc composite jobs, and factor in there is a class below sportsmans I don't see a problem.   The large planes are flown far away as to keep the figures in the "box" a smaller plane takes covers less airspace and therefore flown closer in.   Just my thoughts, sorry for the very late hijack but only just read it. But hate reading comments that are frankly not true.   BB Edited By Barnesyboy on 11/01/2012 10:40:19 Edited By David Ashby - RCME Admin on 11/01/2012 10:43:24
