  1. What is a good average size of a tail plane to wing proportion? I am rebuilding a 1980 ish design low winger pattern ship, but upgrading to electric, so need to build a ' built up tail plane and fin/ rudder'. David Field ex wrcfs.
  2. I had an original Kavalier built in1979. I used an Enya 45 , I think it was fitted with a 11x7 prop. It was a fantastic airplane to fly. I haven't had one as good since. I flew it for about 5 years. I now have a new plan, and the original wings, I am not certain what happened to the rest during various house moves. If my memory is correct it only needed a couple of clicks of trim on the first flight, eventually increasing throws as became more confident.i fitted a larger tank, and could stooge around for about 30 minutes, as long as no one was waiting for my frequency ( 27mhz in those days) no model memories or servo reversing. You had to set the plane up to the transmitter so all planes were the same settings. Good luck with your build and flying. David
  3. I am wondering why your motors get so hot. Even on a warm day my motors are still cool enough to touch. On cold days they are pleasantly warm. Are you over propping them?
  4. Mike I have a module, Purchased from Giant Cod using ACCST tehnology, it is compatable with Futaba As as the Hitech Optic 6 that I use. only caution is as I understand that not all Hiteh Optics have an external removable module.David Field
  5. Further to the queries on receiver aerials. I use two different tx,s . 1/ a Hitec Optic 6 with a2.4 ghz module and 2/a 2.4 ghz Twister. The Hitec receiver have twin aerials on 6 chanelrx a.nd 1much shorter aerial on the 4 channel. The Twister rx,s have only a single short aeriel. I have had the same problem with both radio,s on short aerial rx,s that is , Flying a fair distance away , about 200 yards away. on initiating a gentle turn to come back the models have continued to turn , no corrective measures work, three times i have been lucky enogh to land in trees / bushes, but once breaking an aircraft ( since repaired). Are the short aerial receivers suitable for only clse work say 100 meters or so? Can the short aerials be lengthened? now to keep the aerial straight. " different models were involved, flying speeds were medium, I have turned both models at much lower speeds. There was sufficient height to recover from tip stalls. Any one else had similar 2.4ghz probs with short aerial rx,s. David field
