I'm in the process of refurbishing my mini CRAFT JAVELIN after being left dormant for many years. A couple of repairs were nessceary so everything was stripped down. Now it's all back together again I'm trying to set the C of G back into position. As it seems of misplaced the manual for it can anyone help me please.

Having just acquired a new airbrush and compressor and having never done any airbrushing before, I would like to know what are the best paints to use for spraying onto finished air frames?

As a retired H&S officer with 11 years experience I am one of the old school type. Common sence is all that is needed. If I was to say to you that if you decided to climb that tree without suitable equipment and fall out of it, It's going to hurt like hell or worse. So I would not recommend you do it. But the decision is yours. Our club does have a Safety Officer / Training Officer as both of these roles run hand in hand with one and other and we have not had any accidents for a good number of years now. We have no fly zones in place and start up areas away from the main pit area. Pilots only stand in the pilot box and non members stand within a marked area away from the pit areas. H&S has had the fingers pointed at it for several years now as being the cause of cancelled or banned events etc. It's the suing culture that has brought this on. Clubs, schools, societies etc, cannot afford to pay out the claims put against them for minor mishaps (little Johnny has been hit by a piece of broken conker, so ban them from playing conkers) type of thing. Insurance companies are then forced to up their prices or refuse to give cover. H&S is a neccessary evil which sadly we have to live with in every day life. Have somebody within the club just to keep an eye on the know it all member that all clubs have and keep safe.

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help out regarding the little Ares Tiger Moth. This model has given me hours of fun both indoors and out when the weather allows. The problem I have at the moment is that I am loosing control or the binding when the throttle goes beyond half way. The motor cuts and will not restart, but the controls start to go into search mode. The rudder and elevator start juddering as if they are looking for a signal. I have tried rebinding, using a different Tx and even replaced the Rx & servo board but the problem remains. Any idea's ?

I have found the cause of the control reversal. If you press 2 of the trim buttons at the same time, be it the elevator & rudder, up or down, left or right, you will end up reversing the rudder or the elevator control. This was found by accident when trying to re-bind the transmitter to the receiver. So be careful as to which one you press when setting it all up.

John, I didn't think about removing the batteries first before trying to re-boot it. Thanks for that I'll give it a go.

Hi Percy, I have taken the tranny apart and there are no reversing switches inside.

Can anyone help here please. I have a Tiger Moth 75 indoor model which flew very well, but all of a sudden the elevator servo has reversed, so what should be up is now down. I have tried to rebind the transmitter to the receiver but the result is still the same. Has anybody else experienced this and have you managed to over come it.

Hi cymaz, thanks for the reply. I have all the technical data on 'Laser' engines etc. but I need to track down a scale prop. nut for a Tiger Moth of 1/4 scale fitted with a 'Laser' engine.

It's not a spinner I need but a prop nut to suit the TM.

Help. I messed up my esc settings by accident on my above controller. I have searched high & low for my original instruction sheet in the workshop but I have had no luck in finding them. Can somebody tell me how to re-set the brake setting for the motor. Regards.

Having collected every issue since 1966 along with every issue of RM (sad or what), any form of index is very handy, especially when building from one of the free plans or reviews made on kits.

It is suprising how when you are looking back through your collection just how far the artical required is. Producing the index for each year is well worth the effort for us older generation wishing to remind ourselves of some important issue we read about. Keep it up.
