  2. Hi Danny, I've just put a photo of the cockpit shape from above in my Fury Photo album. I don't know how to put images on the forum. It comes from the Fury Profile publications number 18. I hope it helps. Vince
  3. Shaping the leading edge first and adding carbon fibre tows would be easier to add strength and keep shape.Edited By Fats Flyer on 15/10/2018 13:05:31
  4. If your interested, there is a write up on Outerzone of the plan,it might help with the build technique of the designer and produce a few light bulb moments.....hopefully.
  5. It does take practice Danny,i have the scar's and empty plaster boxes to prove it. I have also got a few home made mini saws, breaking fine toothed hacksaw blades in half, then tapeing the top part with electrical tape to act as a handle.
  6. Andy i'll be using a Dremel type mini drill with a cutting blade to remove parts.
  7. Heard a clonk on the floor from the letterbox this morning.....YYEEESSSS....the parts are brilliant Ernie,Thank you for all your help. Vince
  8. hi Danny, I am looking at doing the cowl with lithoplate. I have quite a few sheets of the stuff,i will have to practise first. I think litho will give a better look and finish. Vince
  9. Hi Ernie,Paypal payment made.Have left a note on the paypal invoice regading delivery address. Thanks for your time and help. Vince
  10. Hi Danny, Thanks for the offer. I am going to make all my own stuff. It will take longer, but will be enjoyable all the same. Every project has it's spanner in the works moment,we have had ours regarding Traplet, let's hope the rest will be easier and fun. Vince
  11. Using pull pull cables will be a lot lighter than push rods, especially at the rear. I used the pull pull system on my PV-7,it's very quick and easy to do.Just make sure that the runs to the rear are snag free when fitting. I used a carbon rod at the front with paxolin horns epoxied to the rods and a short control linkage to the servo. Fishing trace wire is what I used with fishing ferrels to fix the line in place. At the front end I used an adjustable linkage to attach to the horns for easy adjustment. I will try and get a few piccies up at the weekend to show the system I used if it helps.
  12. Posted by Martian on 21/07/2017 21:30:44: Anybody finished yet I've finished buying everything
  13. If you are going to clad the cowl with lithoplate, you should be able to change the angle slightly at the front. Also looking at the spinner ,the backplate could be set on a pillar drill and filled down 2 or 3 mm. Doing both should give a nice clean line.
  14. Wow,it is a shame.Danny ,I think you are right. Ive just looked at their website and it does state that the shop store is closed. I hope everyone gets what they ordered.
  15. Just checked mine.mines the same,Spinner is a lot bigger than the line at the front of the cowl.
  16. Danny,Making wheels from ply is the way to go.Laminating ply and lightply in the middle would make them lighter .I have made wheels this way on another project and they are still being used now.For the tyres I have used Hoover belts made of rubber ,for electric plane wheels I have used the garden kneeling mats for the tyres. This material is quite hardy and keeps shape well. When using this material,i make the inside diameter a little bit smaller so you have to stretch them on to the ply disc.I also use a plastic tube for the middle of the wheel as a bearing, ready for the axal. This also helps when cutting the ply for the round shape on the fret saw. I wouldn't use metal for the centre of the wheel, mainly because metal to metal noise could upset the signal to the receiver. Fats
  17. Danny, Retracing litho work would be great to pass the time away until we start. Also, Balsa Cabin sell Oracover film covering in chrome which looks pretty good. But I must admit, considering the price, aluminium tape would be cheaper . I'm trying to dig out my lithoplate from the other shed at the moment.I think iv'e got around 50 or 60 sheets of the stuff. As well as litho work,Silver soldering would be good as well...ready for the undercarriage. If others have got issues of things they're not sure about, maybe we should get them out in the air before we start,so we can all be on the same page when we start.
  18. Posted by Danny Fenton on 15/07/2017 16:11:35:I am leaning further and further to a Nimrod 1 such as the one at Duxford Cheers Danny AAhhhhhh,Danny,Are you leaning towards the Nimrod to get away from all the chrome work?
