  1. Had my bixler 2 clap wings at around 400ft this morning Still nearly repaired again after finding all the bits, should be all go in a day or so
  2. A very interesting topic on tonights current affairs programme stated that New Zealanders now are spending 1.1Billion NZ$ a year shopping on overseas websites !! And how does it affect the retail trade ? it appears that on purchases under NZ$400 (200 quid) not taxes or duties are applicable! The NZ postal service is experiencing a boom and are now getting in on the overseas shipping game and there is a 27% growth in the number of courier useage NZ businesses are now adapting to selling and producing more "homegrown" products as these cannot be sourced anywhere but NZ thus sidestepping the overseas online shopping situation. In summary for a while it did hurt the retail trade but like anything else they learned to adapt . But its all down to consumer choice
  3. ha ha !! the times we try to film a head-on with our bixlers and get no where near each other. great fun though
  4. Here in NZ we have GST (goods and service tax) 15% but I have never been charged any duties on any of my HK imports I dont know why but if I were to be charged then I would probably stop using the overseas suppliers
  5. Mine got stuck up the only tree for miles around and stayed there for days
  6. I got my HK hurricane a couple of weeks ago and it flies brilliantly my flying skills dont let me attempt too low a pass yet but it flies rock steady and pulls up nicely into those stirring slow rolls the more I fly it the more daring I get so its bound to end in tears . cant stop making those DAGGA DAGGA DAGGA sounds
  7. I really rate My Bix 2 the Bixler 1 was great but the Mk2 just seems so much better although I have lost the wing fixing screws but the wings are a nice tight fit no problems yet . Managed to squeeze amost 40 minutes out of a 2200 3 cell the other evening
  8. I'm fortunate to live in New Zealand's North Island and usually we fly all year round its funny but the weather actually seems to settle down in the winter and we get some really calm days, but there are only a couple of weekends that we cannot fly
  9. A bit of a tricky one this as my LHS is in fact the Hobby King New Zealand showroom !!!!! Honestly they are about a 20 minute drive away and although they hold a good stock of just about everything covering film balsa etc I still find it cheaper to buy complete airframes via their Hong Kong warehouse even with the shipping but if I need Li-Po's or Y leads they get my business, they offer a guarantee on HK products bought from them but not goods purchased from the international warehouse.
  10. Hi there it was this one from HK http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__25656__HD_Wing_Camera_II_Full_HD_1920x1080P_30FPS.html

  12. Thought I would let you see where we fly when we are not flying at our club site I live on Auckland's Hibiscus Coast Orewa beach is a 10 minute walk from my house, keep checking as with summer just starting I will be adding more images from various beaches and parks
  13. Ha Ha I thought I could die happy 2 years ago when I saw the Vampire fly but now I have seen a Mosquito and an Anson die very happy now
  14. you know what i found amazing at these Kiwi airshows that the general public were allowed to walk around the mossie and paw all over it ! even had people with their heads inside the wheel bays, the American owner was saying that If the pilot Keith Skilling flew a display that close to the crowd and that low in the States he would have his licence taken from him as soon as he landed!!! Gotta love the Kiwi attitude
