  1. I have an idea for RCME Spelling lessons ,,,, ME tinks i need a fu ..   I still think some lessons on how to launch models correctly is a good idea for the magazine. Some people have no idea how to hand launch anything , power or slope.   Cheers Kiwi g
  2. ORME , does that stand for ,,off ridge model eater..,, from what I can fathom from down under ,it also likes sticky buns ??   opps , nice job ian .   kiwiEdited By kiwi g on 08/07/2011 10:57:43

I find that Vacs just hit my sensetive hearing sopt and do my tinnitus no good.   Plummit     Yes noise is a problem i guess , mind you a dustbuster isnt to loud. still one has the choice of earmuffs ,or continue to breath for their old age,

  7. Geoff .. first launch .. find some long grass .... just in case
  8. Running is a waste of time, most people take a run stop then throw at the same time.. My advise. a good staight into the wind launch , nose level and dont pull up unless totally needed until up to speed. if your trimmed correctly the power of the motor will pull the nose skyward. . yes the model will drop on release but flying speed is more important than struggling to a stall. ,
  9. I ask the question when they get that big. WHY.?????   surely the detail can be put into a smaller aircraft.. but dont get me wrong . Great aircraft and if you can build this big good on you. surely a microlight makes more sense ...
  10. lying about your age is one thing but remembering if your lying or not is another. The best lies are old lies ,, or am I really telling the truth ,
  11. how much is petrol per litre over there , its $ 2.30 a litre here which is approx british pounds 1.16, does it compare ,price wise or not..

  15. It seems theres two thought patterns at work here. The flyers the builders.   Endurance race ,great idea.   How about ,design ,build then fly for as long as possible on a given amount of battery or gas.   The flying idea is harder for the likes of me to get my head around ,as like alot of people here ,we fly in a group of only two or three, lemans style of racing would need a large club participation . Great idea though Will F
  16. Another twist on the topic How about a design by forum members for a aircraft that does specific task or tasks. Vertical takeoff , now theres a challenge. slowest landers , a few members possibly need these, speed , maybe thats well done, rc car plane, maybe too easy   There must be lots of ideas out there, look at the pick a plane thread and you will see some great ideas showing through...   I was watching ice pilots the other day and they were landing instrument only via the centering beacon ... now theres an idea . fpv , maybe no need , come on guys , ideas required
  17. Well I bet we have all thought about this once or twice while flying, Dave put the gun down
  18. How about the materials idea but with a ttwist. Use easy to get household products .. cardboard , plastic bottle , any thing . toilet roll for tissue paper or maybe glued together for a laminated strength.   capsule idea like a relay interesting . capsule idea in different aircraft , photographed around the world , works. after all howmuch postage would it cost to send an envolope around the world. In the capsule a simple item such as a RCME badge , photograhed in the plane ,then.plane flying. . however , it turn into who lost the capsule . Or who crashed the plane
  19. Being outside the uk .. How about a given amount of materials , We design whatever from those materials only , any aircraft goes , Then enter and vote for winner . Well its a thought
  20.   After a series of natural disasters here in nz , I bet theres a few guys that wished they had learnt some basic skills in the mechanic /building trades ,instead of learning computer skills and another language at secondary school. Interesting point terence brings up isnt it. I bet the main reason schools dont teach tech style of trades is because of the health and saftey issues involved with setting up workshops. In nz the schools are removing their swimming pools because of the cost of running them., children are not learning to swim , now thats important on an island nation . Interesting the number of drownings each year is on the rise.   My point being if we let this carry on ,we will be having a earth of unskilled people ,capable of removing viruses from computers but unable to cook.   Sad really . mind you it wont be long before the home oven is deemed to dangerous to use incase of burns ,scolds etc . pre cooked meals will be the norm and pills will be popped to feed the masses
  21. I know im getting old , i can relate to most of the comments on here ... arrrrrrrrggggghhh

  24. 1lb forward of the cog in high winds is great for forward penetration . when theres that much lift it wouldnt matter how nose heavy something is , it will possibly fly backwards.
