  1. yeah was considering that to be a way of blancing it. ill prbably widen the fuse by about 3mm also to so i can fit in the 1300mah 3s batteries ive got.
  2. ill try find the pics i have/had of a full size gruman avenger's mechanism. ill let you know if i find them.
  3. just thinking, i got a spare setup for a hobbyking funfighter, with a few mods space wise it will fit, how much extra weight could this airframe take you guys reckon? i can run it on a 2s or bump it up to 4s also (the 2s batteries are then enough to go in series. they are 1300mah 2s lipos, i think the motor is 1950kv, 40a speedie (needs it on a 4s set up) a 5.5x4" prop? i just have them laying around and theres a warbird weekend on at the club in 5 days (lhs has nothing to suit and local warehouse for hk will probably take too long)
  4. alright then, i jsut assumed that the dowel le added a fair degree of structural integrity to the wing.
  5. well got the parts cut, il probably go with a 1/4" square balsa LE sanded round since i dont hve any dowel. might sheet abit of the wing with 1mm balsa for added strength, im planning to do the to the centre section anyway because the CA on covering doesnt give me alot of confidence, even on this small aircraft.
  6. well getting the gear ordered on hobbyking later today, i got the choice between a 5x5 apc or a 4.75x4.75 tgs sport prop. im guesing the apc would be the better bet?
  7. i often dont have anything on hen im in the shed but if im building on my bedroom ill have whatever ive downloaded playing in the background. mostly "new" music like whats on normal radio but i get a heap of acdc, guns and roses, and house music on there also. i have weird taste in music
  8. im planning on using these batteries ( **LINK**  and this motor ( **LINK**  and i have a red brick 10a esc at home already. just wondering if that would be an apropriate setup and if so what prop?
  9. im looking at some 800mah ones which are about the right weight. ill post a link later
  10. well just have to cut the wing ribs out now and then ill start assembling. love these small simple builds. been holding back from plan building anything much bigger. kits im fine with but plans ive been hesitant about. might give the super slinky a go once i finish this. or see what other plans i have here.
  11. will do. i like trying to find more unusual schemes for my planes that are still based around a full scale plane. finished the fuse sides this morning. if i can ill pick up a bit of dowel and another sheet of balsa.
  12. well got bored and now have everything minus wing ribs, formers and fuse sides cut. really is a quick build
  13. looking to do a reno scheme. any simple ones that could work? looking at strega as the mostlikely at the moment. any with bright orange or green? already got covering in those colours that i like
  14. all parts are traced. now to start cutting. ill do that next weekend.
  15. well im ging to start building mine in the spare half hour i get once in a while (gotta hate school). ive started by tracing the parts on the graphics tracing pare so i can cut them out and use that for putting onto the balsa. i dont want to wreck the plans. going with the p51 (not a great fan of the fw190).
  16. i usually do all of them, first if you were to censor the words i was saying you could convert it to morse code, then i go quiet while looking for it in the 8ft higgh lantanna (i hope for your sake you dont have it), then im usually laughing about it if it is a hack plane while we all stand around saying how spectacular that last manouver was then i get it in the car to rebuild and repeat
  17. the magazines only came into the newsagents today. i saw the naked model in another issue (one where you guys reviewed the addictionx) on alex's bench and was actually try to recreate something like it. the school i go to has a laser printer so i am going to get it tomorow to draw up in cad and knock out on the laser printer
  18. Hi. the quiet and electric flight international mag had a plan and build article of a little bipe and they had a fair few build photos in it. Im pretty sure they were taken by a simple digital camera and they really do help the article. Im not biased to any magazine as i just buy when there is something i could use (e.g. Plans) or are helpful like the special issues. And again i ask, when in australia? 19. When will it be on the shelves on australia?
  20. What is a good electric setup? I MIGHT be able to start building it over the holidays here. Im rhinking a 2s setup with a mother of a big battery so a) i wont need AS MUCH nose weight. B) ill be able to have a few flights with the one battery and help keep the cost down.
  21. Well mine wont be built for a while as mum said to make a list of what i want for christmas. So im going to go with one of the thunder tiger 07 motors, 0.069cu so it should be good. Along with balsa servos rx etc.
  22. Thanks. I just got the plans yesterday arvie. Just a suggestion to the people who make/modify/edit these great plans. Is there a chance you could try to put a list of the materials needed. E.g. X4 1/8" sheets, x3 1/4" sheets etc. would make it alot easier on first time scratch builders like me. Ive only built one kit and it was great. Im on a limited budget but i reckon i could do it as a buy a few bits of balsa this week for the tail, a bit for the fuse etc. do the 4 smaller ribs in the wings and the tail go on the inside/middle to account for the sheeting?
  23. Are the spars balsa or a spruce/basswood type spar?
