There is more info and plenty of photos in my RC Groups build thread: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1186596 I havn't worked on it for a wee while and it has not progressed much above the photo in the post above. I've got a problem with the air retracts which I'm struggling to beat, the air pipes coming out of the cylinders are hitting the wheels as the legs are on the short side. Electric retracts might be the answer but I've got plenty of other projects on the building board at the moment! Cheers Gary How about using a pair of robart 605 (85degree retract angle version)instead? the robarts allow the air cylinder to be positioned opposite to the struts. that way the air cylinder will no longer be an issue. Me 109H

Posted by Erfolg on 26/02/2012 21:05:49: The thread has not been active for some time now. My intention to build a 109H is still there. I have swung from using Blue Foam for the fus to built up balsa/Ply body. One thing that has held me back, is finding a commercial spinner which is well rounded nose. Ay present most seem to be what used to be called the Sonic type. Confirmation that the centre was flat is helpful. I guess part of the reason would be retain prop clearance at take of and landing. Would it be possible to post any of the info, on the thread, without copyright issues? I think for art work and drawings it lasts for 70 years, although a rework, can escape the restriction, if not just a copy. The body and wing relationship relative to the G version is of particular interest. Hi Erfolg, Here's what I have on the 109H, documents from the Messerschmitt Ausburg plans. By the way I have never seen any factory drawings of the cowling cross-section for the 109H. The other 109 variant that really interest me is the 109V23 with the wide landing gear stance and central radiator ala mustang or the macchi 202. By the way the drawing on the wing says that the diahedral starts at rib1 with angle of 6.32 degrees via the centreline of the wing spar. Hope the drawing helps and please do post your build effort.
  3. Posted by Gary Binnie on 27/12/2011 12:08:09: Here's another not quite finished project!! Small model is 1/48 scale. I'm struggling with the retract air lines hitting the wheels, might have to go for electric retracts. Not a bad kit, there were some fair size splits in the wing veneer but they were easily fixed. Hi Gary, Is that the cambrian 109? Looks very good. Do you have any more build pictures or pictures of the plane so far? Nick

    Me 109H

Not sure if this thread is alive. The actual 109H had a flat centre section and the outer wings with a dihedral of ~ 6.32 degrees. The nose was stretched and the rudder is taller. I have some original blueprints from Messerschmitt A.G. Nick
