  1. Put me in for a chance of winning. Can't remember if I'm already entered but since you've emailed me guess I haven't.
  2. Received first mag of my subscription but nothing about PicoZ "gift". When will this be sent? A little concerned at how many "isolated incidents" there appear to be in connection with promo's! If no PicoZ then my subscription will go the same way.
  3. That is exactly the point I was making Kamakazikev, they are totally different. My thread by the way was intended for Steve. No matter how well versed in the theory of flight and aeronautics, it will be of little consequence in actually safely controlling a model.Orientation for a full size pilot is always the same, whereas with a model it changes on whether it's flying away or toward you or from left to right or right to left. Also its vitually totaly visual. Eye and transmitter hand co-ordination has to be developed until it is done without thinking, much the same as a musician reads the notes on a score and instinctively plays them.
  4. After a 30 odd year break I am returning to the hobby and although previously an instructor, I am commencing as a newby and getting instruction. Strongly suggest you dont even think about flying without an instructor by your side. I actually taught a professional full size 747 pilot how to fly models as he crashed them every time out on his own! Enough said?
  5. Thanks guys, its so simple when it's explained!
  6. Assembling a World Models Cessna Skylane which is pre covered with LIGHTEX SGX 100. I assumed this was similar to Solafilm and tried hot air to get out the wrinkes, (not impressed by the standard of pre covering) but when heated it seems to go slack rather than taught. does anyone have any info on this covering?
  7. A very interesting and informative thread. Although an experienced modeller but new to electric flight, (after a break of some 30 years) can someone explain what the terms "inrunner" and "outrunner" refer to? Dave, have you actually flown a model yet?
  8. Thank you for the input Graham. Found some reviews including Dec 2005 RCME. Not a complete novice but don't want to dive straight in with a scale concorde. (Although I was involved on the fullsize construction!) I would appear I'm getting confused with Terry Pearce so I will have to change my handle! Not only similar name but also similar profile!
  9. Returning to RC model flying after a break of about 30 years! Boy! there is so much of a change! Starting off with a World Models Cessna Skylane E.P. Would be interested to know of anyones experience with this model. Does anyone know of a good publication that would get me up to date on electric flying - fixed or heli?
