  2. Posted by Johnny Kirkham on 21/03/2013 17:46:43: nescafe37 I would personally recommend you join a club where the club instructor can check your model and transmitter settings. He will be able to explain expo, dual rates etc to you and how such settings will effect your model. Like everything in life the tranny settings are easy.......when you know how!! Good luck, onwards and upwards Johnny Cheers for the info Johnny but i joined a club last year and been flying solo for months now. Even bought meself a little park flyer too... And as for percentages i think i am using 100% on all but will have to check when i get back home.. Also running a upgraded motor aswell as the ST Models one gave up the ghost lol..
  3. sorry I have not replied earlier but I went for the hk mini swift as suggested by gardo and I can honestly say that it was a great suggestion. I have flown it about 20 Times now without any incidents.lol. I don't really have any issues with the speed of the thing in fact I am wishing it had a little more umphhh now.time to move onto something else maybe?
  4. Well im am not able to get out as much as i would like due to the weather lol so i am thinking of getting something for indoor flight. My club has indoor sessions in a medium sized hall so now the question,.. What do i buy?? I want something that will fly nice and slow..
  5. Ok here is a thread for some people to get there teeth into. I am still a beginner and currently fly a high wing foamie trainer, Now what i would like is people to explain is this. 1)What is the difference between flying a low winger and a high winger? 2)What makes warbirds a no no for beginners? 3)When do stop becoming a begginer and when are you ready to fly a warbird? The reason i am asking these questions is because many beginners(including myself) are a bit pig headed and think how hard can it be?? Now i have not bought a warbird and dont intend to yet as i have taken the advice from many magazines and forum threads and thay always seem to be correct but i have yet to see an absolute answer to the questions above. So perhaps we could have a little insight into the subject here and stop beginners(including myself) just going out and spending there hard earned cash on something that is only going to last a couple of minutes and end in tears.. 6. Posted by Garbo on 15/10/2012 10:52:48: Coffee, dont wait as long as I did, this is a lightly loaded foamie with plenty of washout, making it a relatively easy flier Lol still have not maidened my mini swift yet...too cold brrrrr
  7. Nice on Garbo....cant wait to get a few years under my belt so i can get a war bird
  8. ohh and i have a spare 6 channel orange receiver i can use if that will fit?
  9. Posted by Garbo on 20/09/2012 07:49:42: Posted by Simon Chambers on 20/09/2012 00:06:55: +1 on the Breeze Garbo, how well does it fly on the 2S 800mAh pack? I have a couple hanging around, tempted to get the swift to chuck them in. Also in the "crash kit" they supply is that really just another complete airframe?! Cheers, Si. 800 is a squeeze to get in but fine. It flies great for the park or off a sand dune at the beach, I never got a "Crash Kit" Which 800 battery would be the best fit?? Because i seen you can buy the normal type or the long type?? I am definently going for the mini swift i think..
  10. My flying skill is very low at the moment. Only just started flying solo and yes was looking to spend about £50. I currently use a DX6i and run 2200 3s lipos so i f could find something that uses those lipos or something i can bind the DX6i too that be great...
  11. Hiya all... I am thinking of getting a cheap park flyer that i can just fly around for a bit of fun when i cant get to the flying field. I am a newbie and currently fly a ST Models Discovery but i want something i can fly about a bit and not worry about damaging it... Any suggestions?
  12. Posted by Josip Vrandecic -Mes on 14/09/2012 18:08:14: Hi Nescafe37,I think that Your post is honest ,illuminating and Your attitude is correct... Cheers Joe p.s.I usually drink only nescafe(Gold).lol lolol well my favourite drink is yorkshire tea and i dont even like nescafe lol
  13. Thanks guys. I dont really want to name the club or chairman as i dont want to seem like a suck up but if the chairman reads this he knows who he is. I also forgot to add that when i was on the buddy box with him my motor packed up(damage from my 1st flight before i joined the club no doubt lol) and he took the controls and glided it back in with no problems what so ever. Now just think beginners....If i was still trying to fly on my own that would of ended in disaster and no doubt would of destroyed my plane and therefor i would of probably gave up on the whole idea of flying and that would be one less rc model pilot on the scene Cheers Chris
