  1. Hi Eric,             Many thanks for the info. Now were are my Wife's driving gloves !
  2. Hi Folks,                Can anyone recommend any books/articles or give any advice regarding fitting out of model aircraft cockpits. Be it a Sunday sport flyer or super scale model. How do you create cockpit instruments, handles, knobs, levers, seats, harnessess etc ? I do realise that this is a huge question which could produce a huge response depending on what type of aircraft is being discussed. Better still how about some articles in RCME ? Any info would be gladly recieved by myself and hopfully everybody else who reads this thread.               By the way - no joy on my hunt for any Twin Pioneer plans yet.                                                        Blue skies and light winds.                                                        Neil
  3. Sorry for not responding sooner Eric only we went away for a few days. Thank you for the offer of the photos but the internet is awash with more than enough of the Twin Pin. I am following up a lead from the latest BMFA mag which shows a 1/9th scale model (103 inches) of G-APRS. Hopefully they can put me in touch with the builder. Thanks for replying anyway. Neil
  4. Hi Folks,                Does anybody out there know of a plan for the Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer. I saw the only flying example at Duxford in July 06 and would like to build a model of it.                 Many thanks in anticipation.                 Neil.
  5. My three votes in order of preferance are, 1/ B N Islander. 2/ B25. 3/ Hornet. So long as the winner is ic powered. Many thanks for a very intresting thread.
  6. Dear Geoff, Many thanks for the response. It confirms what I've heard about having to use rudder(s) to counter asymetric problems. I see no reason why I can't add a rudder onto the Double Max. I have to say that I'm very much a build it from plan person and that I've never had an ARTF. Having said that the price of the Dual Ace is very competitive. What are the pros and cons of the kit, what extra hardware etc do you need, other than engines and radio of course. Does anyone import the kit? The more I try and find out about flying multi-engined models the more frustrated I become as regards lack of hard facts and an air of black magic that surrounds this branch of the sport. I'm going to have to take the plunge and find out for myself. Do you have any experience of using gyros on rudders to counter asymetric thrust problems? Many thanks, Neil
  7. Hi Folks, After much head scratching and soul searching I'm ready to build my first twin. I've gone for the Double Max by G Dodwell plan number RM30. I think it was in the Radio Modeller 7/68. Has any one got a copy I can borrow or send me a copy of the article? Has any one built or flown this model. Has any one got any advice? The plan is for 3channel, no rudder. Is this a problem? It would be fairly easy to add a rudder though. Neil
  8. Hi Tony, Many thanks for the prompt response and advice. Do you ever sleep? I see from another thread about peoples wish lists for a plan that other people are thinking of multi-engined aircraft. Could you use your powers of persuasion to get someone to write an article for RCME on the subject? Many thanks. Neil
  9. Hi Tony, I'm thinking of building my first twin i/c plane. There are so many myths and negative attitudes towards multi-engined planes I was wondering if you could advise or at least point me in the direction of some literature. Many thanks. Neil
  10. I would like to add my voice to the suggestions already mentioned about ic twins/multi-engined aircraft. I am just about to embark on this route but I'm having difficulty finding enough info on how to go about it. I have the plans for both the DOUBLE MAX (RM 30) and the BN ISLANDER (RC1255). I have a close affinity with this aircraft as I spent 4 years jumping out of them at up to 12,000 ft, but thats another story. I would also like to have a play with retracts in the future. If anyone has any constructive ideas, advice (except don't do it)etc I'd be greatful.
