  1. Hi Kev, Thanks for the pointer, I do have a spare 3500Kv 40Amp inrunner if you think that would be better. I must admit, although the old funjet with a 2700 Kv 30 amp set worked well, it was'nt that blistering, so I thought that by uprating the esc and motor ampage and dropping the prop size, would make it a little more 'lively'.   2. Hi all, thanks for your reponses, I can either use 5.5x4.7 Grauner props or 4.7x4.7 Graupner props.  The motor is rated at 40 Amps and 3900 KV. On a previous  Funjet I used a 30 Amp 2700 KV motor on the same props, pulling just shy of 28 amps and producing about 340 Watts, I thought that by running a 40 Amp motor and esc on a smaller 4.7x4.7 prop it would be about right, but it is drawing too much on the Amps front! Does any of this sound OK? Nice vid by the way, how loud?
  3. Hi all, I have not posted much on here, but could I please have some help with a medium to fast power train for a Funjet? I intended to use a 40 Amp, 25c 3cell set, but am having trouble drawing less than 50-60 Amps.  Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks, Phil

  5. Hi there all! Looking through the results, it seems there is bit of a thing for a Hurricane (hehe), and why not? Lets see an electric twin!  1:  DeHavilland Hornet 2:  Westland Whirlwind 3:  Bristol Beaufighter All the above with glow/electric options, 50" wingspan and retracts.  Any thoughts? Bring on the multis!!  May the best plane win

  7. Hi peeps! Could anyone shed some light on the handling characteristics of the following models, please? 1. De Havilland Mosquito, twin geared 400's 2. Focke Wulf FW190 geared 400 I recently won them on Ebay, but cannot find out anything about these models on the web, if it helps, the Mossie has a 1290mm wingspan and the FW190 has a 40" wingspan, both are complete kits, with polystyrene fuselage and wings and various vac-formed cowlings etc. Any help would be gratefully received! Thanks for the web link, they look perfect, not a bad price too! :) I will of course try and make the C of G as accurate as poss, thanks for the advice, and I look forward to gettng her ready for flying/testing July/August time!   9. Hi Alistair, Thanks for the link, all questions answered! (at the moment). I live about 30 Mins from RNAS Yeovilton in Somerset and have been told that there are some Tucanos on training duties, but they are due to be replaced by smaller aeroplanes! :( Thank you for your advice on the prop etc, did you have any pics of your finished Tuc? When you mentioned if the c of g is a bit far back,it gets a bit twitchy? is that further back than marked on the plan? Sorry for all the questions, you are the only other person I have met who has even heard of it, let alone who is actually flying one. I just want to make it as right as possible, before 'holding her aloft' Thanks again, Phil White
  10. Hello again Alistair, thank you for pointing out the potential hazard, will do the same before going on with the covering! I have gone for the geared 600 motor option, and yes I have the wheels too! Was recommended an APC'E' 11x7 prop to suit the motor/gearbox and 3500 mah 8 cell pack, does that sound right? The wheels look to be the way to go, with more and more clubs getting tarmac strips and my local, is an ex-RAF airbase, with loads of runway open to use! The wheels just look right as well. I have never flown, or seen one of these flying before, are they really that balistic? Would the g/box option be strong enough for ground take offs? Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks again, and enjoy the current weather! Phil

  12. Hi there, I wonder if anyone could possibly help me to locate a canopy and pilot set for the 45" Tucano, made by Nigel Hawes? I seem to remember there being a pilot/dash/canopy kit from somewhere, but cannot for my life remember where! Many thanks!

I have to agree with Geoff, the sea hornet would also be a good looking aircraft, a sensible size to fit in the boot od the car, and be a twin to boot! 60" approx with good and cheap brushed 600 motors/gearboxes (with brushless, Lipo option, of course!) Reatracts is also something else that has not been covered much as well! :) so come on, Hornet or Sea Hornet either one is a beaut!

  17. Hi there, I WILL learn to fly this year, and find a regular flying club that is'nt 30 Miles away! I will also make an electric DH Hornet model from plans (wether or not I can fly it by the end of the year is something else!).
  18. Hi Graham, I would really like to see an article on an electric DH Hornet/ Sea Hornet as it is quite simply a gorgeous aeroplane and deserves to be flown again. There has not been much mention of multi-engined, electric, semi/scale models like this. Please Tony, could you fix it for me? (he he!) Thanks and by the way, love the new website!
