  1. Hi Mark, Don't think I understand your post......I have not gone on at CS as you put it.....please explain?? Thanks......Dale.
  2. Well the Easy Star does seem to fit the bill just fine but funds are a tad tight at the moment. Therefore I have been looking at the Bixler from Hobby King (just back in UK stock according to website) but I'm a little nervous about using them with some of the comments on here lately about the UK warehouse..... very grateful for any advice. Thanks......Dale
  3. You're getting there now CS.....colour scheme sounds great!!.....keep the pics coming. Dale
  4. Pouring down here in Somerset but it's ok because I have my new copy of RCME to read.....
  5. Well, it's about time something good has come out of this ridiculous world of H&S...... Mr Eric Carter has had the chance to fly in a Spit again.......very well done to all involved. Dale.
  6. I received my free power panel today and would like to say a big thank you to the guys at RCME.... Dale.
  7. A big thank you to you all for the replies and also some very useful tips and info....... I am going to buy it but it will be put away for the future. Dale.
  8. I'm a 53 year old newbie and have joined a local club, I have an IC trainer and although it may be a tad daunting at the mo I fully intend on having a damm good go for my A cert.....I can't see any reason not to. Just my opinion......Dale.
  9. Hi all, I'm relatively new here to RC aircraft, I've joined a local club and have an IC trainer that I'm learning on.......now my dilemma is this...... I've been offered a Black Horse Chipmunk in it's box, complete and brand new at a very very good price. Now I realise I wont even think of trying to fly this plane for a long time but is it a good thing to buy and put away? I have done a search on here and it seems to have favourable reviews.....I would appreciate your comments......it is the smaller version....I think around 60 inch span. Thank you in advance Dale.
  10. That's looking very nice indeed.........
  11. Nice build Andy, good luck with the maiden and don't forget to take some pics...... Dale.
  12. Thank you for your suggestions guys, am looking into them......
  13. Hi guys, Ok, I'll admit to becoming a tad obsessed with this hobby and please tell me if I'm on the wrong track here. I have joined a club and have my IC trainer but with the recent bad weather etc. I'm not getting as much stick time as I'd like.....I live in the middle of nowhere and have spoken to a local farmer and he has no problem with me flying an electric plane on the fields around me.....I have BMFA insurance. Is there a RTF leccy trainer out there that would be suitable.....my thinking is I could just go out in the field and have a go at a moments notice depending on the weather.....and yes I fully accept the fact that I will bump it here and there but it's a bit frustrating at the moment..... Thanks.....Dale

    The Olympics

I totally agree with Tim and Alan, I was pretty cynical about us putting on this event and wasn't bothered about it at all but let's face it, we don't have many opportunities these days to feel proud of our country, so forget the politics for a minuite and let's just be very proud of all of our athletes who have taken part......well done team GB......you've amazed me and yes I have been moved by their gutsy performances.
  15. Thanks for the Link and blimey.......that looks quick......have fun.....
  16. Yep, I'm following your build CS...keep up the good work and bring the pics..... Dale.
  17. Wow, that sounds a bundle of fun Alan, have you any pics? Dale.

  19.         Sorry FF but was that meant to say........thanks for your concern?.....Chin up fella, we're all human!......   Edited By Dale Gibson on 31/07/2012 22:35:39
  20. Has to be the best advert ever, thanks for reminding us CS.......
  21. Well, being a newbie to this forum I have been very cautious about posting on here. I am new to RC aircraft but not new to model making neither am I new to forums and am well respected in in my field. This thread is something I feel quite strongly about......I am 53 and left school at the age of 16 with a very poor education and have spent my life as a manual worker and have struggled to improve myself by reading etc. That's enough about me, my point is this...... Guys does it really matter about the odd bit of punctuation here and there??.......surely as a very sad recent event on here has shown.......life is far too short.......it doesn't matter whether you're a professor or a labourer we all have a common interest in modelling so please let's not lose the plot and let's stick together and continue to help one another. This is just my humble opinion and not meant to offend any one. Cheers Dale
  22. Well, to me the idea of a TN Harvard sounded exciting and now just look at that piccy.....fantastic!! I'm sure I won't be alone in wanting to build it......can't wait for the mag......well done I say TN....
  23. Many thanks to CS and Ken for their advice.......I'll get on and do that then......
  24. Hi guys, I'm putting together my first balsa ARTF (Irvine Tutor) which will have IC engine, do I need to fuel proof the bare wood around the fuel tank area etc? If so what should I use? Many thanks in advance Dale.
