  1. Oops, don't think it was from the 2.5mm wiring but the smaller lighting cable! Perhaps the wire should break first before the structure.
  2. Hi Folks, Hope this topic is still alive. Started a protracted build of PM's RF4 and I was just wondering what people bind the U/C leg to F2 with. I have tried a test piece with copper wire out of 2.5mm2 cable and this seemed to work ok. I think the wire measures 1.13mm. The ply broke before the wire. Cheers BB
  3. Very nice and I like/prefer the original colour scheme too. Have a Peter Miller RF4 under construction at the moment and may go for a bigger one later or an RF5. Nearly had a half share in a full size RF4 years ago but got let down at the last minute and couldn't afford it on my own!
  4. Well done Ton, that's good news. Now how about a 3m version??
  5. Hi Peter, I read an article in an other magazine about the price and availability of acetone. Most French supermarkets sell it in 1 litre plastic bottles quite cheaply. So if you know someone who is going over there! Normally in the DIY or household cleaner sections. Regards Bob
  6. Hi Bruce, I have managed to get crow on mine with a Spektrum dx6i, not too sure about the T6J as I am a relative newbie to all this. Found it by chance on the 'net. It was for the Radian pro I think but can't find it at the moment. I do have it on disc at home but am in France for a few weeks. Slows down really well with flaps or crow. Plenty of 'how to' s on you tube I should think.   I use 3S 2200 Lipo's without moving the tray and it balanced out ok with just a gnat's of weight on the back end. 7. That's what I was waiting for. Looks nice and stable and should thermal well. Will put it on my list of things to build. May just jump the queue a bit!
  8. Hi All, Was thinking of putting the Beaver on my birthday present list, do the wings come off relatively easily for transport?
  9. I have a shed full of plastic kits for when I retire. I do the odd one now and then as the fancy takes me, it does have it's benefits!!! Sea King looks nice Paul.   Have done a few more since the photo was taken Edited By Bob Bertram on 05/02/2014 20:36:59
  10. Hi Bruce, I bought the bare version and finished it about 2 weeks ago, it flies superbly and you wont regret buying one. Have built it with flaps and managed to dial in crow braking, it will almost stand still in a breeze. No thermaling as yet but it seems to want to stay up!
  11. Looks great, have learnt a bit about modelling from your pics Ton. Can't wait for the maiden report.
  12. Like the I-beam spars and noticed the ply ribs which I guess are in the centre section. Will this be a free plan in RCM&E. Just finishing a 2m foamie glider (Phoenix 2000) but I could always do with another!!!
  13. Keep up the good work Ton, it is looking great so far.
  14. Ah! I've just renewed for the first time by direct debit, suppose I don't get anything. Shame really as I wouldn't mind a quad!!!
  15. I agree Dave, great value for money. They have performed really well. You just need to check weights from different batches as they can affect the CoG. I'm only a beginner at this RC lark and couldn't understand why my flying was up and down. Well, that's my excuse!!! Having throttled back a bit, I'm getting 40%+ left after 8 mins or so flying with a BL2820/7 Emax motor in my ePioneer trainer. Will certainly buy more at the prices they are but will just keep an eye on the weights.
  16. Just weighed my 4S 3200s as I was having trim problems every time I changed the battery. I noticed that two which I bought together looked bigger, they both came out at 338.2 grams. The other which I bought a while after came out at 297 grams. Obviously a different batch.
  17. I'm using 4S 3200s in a trainer and 3S 2200s in an electric glider, all working well. Accidentaly taken one of the 4Ss down to 9% due to not setting timer but it seems to have recovered. Edited By Bob Bertram on 14/11/2013 21:12:19
  18. Very best wishes for a speedy recovery. You had better pamper the wife with a nice meal out when you feel up to it! Regards Bob
