  1. Well i dont like the fw190 . another warbird wasnt really required. havent the last been free plans been warbirds , and didnt tony say a civilian aircraft was a more likeable choice for him this years . kiwis been correct in this thread.. we need to narrow the choice or pick a theme. Clive had a point with the easy to fly for the beginner would be more popular. FW190 , i wont be building it. but good for those who do
  2. Are sig still producing kits or have the been hit by the world recession.
  3. Posted by Clive Kerr on 21/01/2011 00:58:58: Righto alula, you enjoy the ugly and difficult, I always prefer the pretty but easy myself .   The coments I made earlier are open to whoever wishes to read them I used your line as a general reference   We all know what clive likes . flying , and judging by his pics earlier , ARFs Nothing wrong with simple clive     Edited By alula on 21/01/2011 02:21:40
  4. Still sticking with my comments. If I saw a vulcan in flight then yes ,maybe it would rank highly with me. How many people voted this year because theyve heard the aircraft. Not really the same as a model. to me the vulcan as a model would look and probably fly like a parkzone stryker. . B&V 141 ,an aeronautical freak? sometimes thats where the beauty lies , and the fun begins. Simpicity isnt always the key ,Its just the easy way out.
  5. Im with Erfolg. I find the Vulcan a little uninspirational. personally ,to me it looks like it was drawn off my tech set square. ..Im sure it means more to people in the UK than to anywhere else. Not many american machines been mentioned here. are they not as popular, or is this purely because this is a european website. Alula

Posted by Clive Kerr on 17/01/2011 19:07:07:     These EDFs are all fun,  easy to assemble, and easy to fly :   Phase 3 F.16   Starmax He 162   Starmax Skyray.   They look and sound great !         Now theres a change of heart.. all warbirds And note all foam arfs . niceEdited By alula on 18/01/2011 05:03:04
  7. Simon . yip my mistake..  so different velocity . does that relate to wind velocity,. ie speed.
  8. I think a flying wing would be great . can we vote for gliders .   imagine some of those early war flying wings like the germans developed. how about the german comet , put a rocket in that and fly through those magistaars kiwi...
  9. Wind does NOT effect the airspeed of an aircraft.   You sure about that..      dynamic soaring . doesnt the glider increase in speed as it hits the lift again.  Isnt lift wind...
  10. Apart from the obivious ,having to make a new cowl/ canopy/ retracts /wheel size,. would it still be possible to scratch build this from the magazine plan. and maybe fit a 46 -52 size two stroke. anyone else done this
  11. Barry if you so keen on whirlwind  why dont you design draw and build one. I see young peter savage has a thread hes doing on building from a picture. Good on him.
  12. These people obiviously dont care about what got chosen. Next year they wont need this thread and there wont be any complaints. It will probly be a ME109....
  13. Does the colour look better in real life. great looking little plane
  14. Sorry no bias here but it does appear ive made more suggestions than you.RE MR BRAITHWAITE. and why are the aircraft I suggested so strange .and never to be considered. Citabria/Decathalon ryan sta salamander westland lysander sabre fantrainer mig3/yak9 me 262 all very much sensible and within the reach of ,shall we say average plan builders that dont have the best of products on hand.
  15. If I new who or wot nasa steve was talking about I could comment further. living in countries other than england we have to be a little more constructive..... the sunderland idea is great ,but not every one has access to a lake. yes I do.. Ducted fans are excellent to but can lead to construction and supply of fan problems. Isnt it hard enough to keep up with battery and electric motor tecnology not to mention duct fan technology. That said how about a Ryan STA. Bristol beaufigter Perhaps a westland lysander, lots of scale in that one and not offten modelled. thanks
  16. who needs a 20 size fan for a fantrainer, cut down a three blade prop. get constructive like most other model builders .thanks
  17. 20 size fantrainer, sabre another good one. Me 262 neat but being modeled alot at the moment.how about the heinkel salamander. back to prop driven ww2 fighters, mig 3/ yak9 very cool and sleek.
  18. Oh and I do like the sunderland Idea, but if we are going to make plans for average joe to build why not go completely over the top and build howard huges spruce goose in electric ,just to really confuse every novice out there . he he.
  19. Thinking about this topic makes one think of all the really cool jets and warbirds. all great but hard to fly and build for a novice. same goes for the ww 1 aircraft. So how about a semi scale citarbria\decathalon. 25-40 size with electric conversion. Scale yet aerobatic yet docile enough to learn on. every one has a motor of that size yet compact and easy to build. and not another piper cub.
