  1. It’s also come out at 24oz inc battery which I am not pleased about.
  2. Thanks Martin. Love your crisp lines. Just had to do major surgery on it as found when putting the battery well up front to get the c of g that I had loads of trouble getting it out so cut a hatch underneath which was a pain but sorted battery probs out.
  3. Thanks Martin , your guide did the trick. This is my attempt.
  4. Alan thanks for the info regarding the supply of solarfilm Dave
  5. Philip could you let me know what web site you went on to get your solarfilm, cheers. regards Dave
  6. Tim Thanks for that Tim. I will give it a go but I don’t think I will try the hot air gun! Dave
  7. Tim i was having a close look at your fantastic Gnat and wondered if you use the covering on the canopy as it seems to be seamless from the wood to canopy. If you do would you mind letting me know how you do it without melting the canopy as I would love to be able to achieve that finish. Dave
  8. Hi Steve Thanks for that reply. Another item you may be able to help me with is the wing fairings. In the text and on the plan it says to make them out of 1.6mm balsa and then add 3mm lite ply to the leading edge. I am confused about this. Should the fairings be made from 3mm balsa you match the kite ply leading edge or made from two laminations of 1.6mm balsa? Help regards Dave
  9. Hi Guys as you can see from above pic I have started on the Hunter. The fuz, tail plane and wing are all done. A little mod I did to the wing was to cut out a resess into the leading edge of the wing in the centre. The reason was I found it a bit difficult to remove the battery. This mod has overcome that problem. Comments please. Dave
  10. Gary ive built the fuz and wing and modified the wing to allow easier access for the battery. I cut a 40mmx20mm recess into the leading edge of the wing in the front of the centre section and then fitted a piece of 1/8 lite ply as a support if all that makes any sense. dave
  11. Tim ive still not flown the gnat as yet due to the crap weather up here. I was pleased with the all up weight of 22.6oz so hope it flys ok. I think by the time we get some good weather I will have a lot of maidens to do with all my electrics and leave my large models at home. dave

  13. Tim Thanks for that. I’m covering my hunter in oracover but not sure of the shade of red. Think it might be bright red. Has anyone started on the hunter yet. I’ve got the fuz and wing built. I’ve also modified the wing to give more room for battery access. I was lucky to have the plan pack bought as a christmas present. dave
  14. Tim what share of oracover did you use on you fab gnat. Was it bright red or Ferrari red? dave
  15. Tim That gnat of yours looks fantastic. Love the colour. Where did you get your letters from and also your pilots. I have started to build the hunter but stuck at the moment as the fan hasn’t arrived from bangood as yet. Happy New year to you. Regards Dave
