  3. HI being something of an old codger I managed to throw out the plan for John Lockwoods Mk22, and having just finished the build Yeh! I know it was 2003... All I need to know is the C|G location anyone help?  Cheers sevenmil
  4. AAAh ! Tony can you hear the violins?? Guess I'm cracking on too... regards Peter
  5. Ha! what about AD149's germanium audio outputs, they used to pop off if you looked at them the wrong way. My apprenticeship started in 1958, I wonder how many of you remember the KB Rhapsody radio mains battery portable. You had to be very careful with these as when connected wrong way round the chassis was live, the cable had no polarity identification, so much so we used keep stocks of new cases, cos a lot used to get thrown up in the air accompanied by some very strange language!! Ah well happy days...
  6. Thanks Peter, Yeah right Myron,  told you it was a long time ago Cheers Peter H
  7. Hi Tony,              Thanks for input, it seems to me that if it doesn't need fixing don't fix it. Apparently a length of  of 18" is the absolute max. when I joined the electronics game long ago we only had valves to cope with Oh and the first transistors OC72 if memory serves. After all this it seems the ESC was faulty??   Thanks to all... Peter P.S. You aren't by any chance the Tony Prince who worked on Radio Caroline &  Luxembourg...?  Edited By Peter Hepworth on 16/06/2010 10:38:44
  8. thanks for the info on motor leads etc., It gets a lot more complicated the more you learn. thanks again Peter
  9. Slight change of subject peeps. I would like to know the relationship between length of leads from battery to ESC, and length of lead from ESC to motor as I am told motor performance is affected. we are getting conflicting reports. One report says that length of lead from ESC to motor is critical as the impedance is altered and as I recall from my engineering days a loonngg time ago says that this could be so because frequency is related to impedance plus a 3 phase signal going to motor. If memory serves a high impedance output is affected by length, low impedance not so eg., length of leads to HIz mics is restricted whereas low impedance mics are not affected within reason. Hopefully someone can give us the defnitive answer.   Cheers All Edited By David Ashby - RCME Administrator on 11/06/2010 11:11:10

  11. Hi,    Can anyone out there help me, before I go nuts. I have just completed building a free plan 'Little Bandit', I have no idea where I have put the plans and build sequence. Not even sure which mag it was featured in, any way what I need to know is where the CG  is placed. Please help a 69yr old child before I really start to scream Many thanksTreetop airlines

  13. May I through the forum register an annoyance re give aways when you subscribe. I am a subscriber , no freebie for me, tough luck, you may say fair enough. Do spare a thought for all of us who subscribe and didn''t get nothin!       Moan over could you please through your pages somewhere say a large thank you to Peter Miller as I had a slight problem getting the Windscreen template right with the Cessna C37 Airmaster plan. You very kindly gave me his Phone No and duly spoke with him, we were unable to explain the discrepancy,so that was that I thought, Lo and behold the following day Peter called me to say he had a good look at the original plan & template, but could find no fault. Please print a large thank you to Peter its nice to know there are some good people still around  in this troubled world .       Another moan, I am of a certain age & when at school was taught to spell correctly  Lo & Behold if you got a word wrong. Perhaps if you got together with the other modelling magazines you could arrange to have the staff trained to spell correctly. You are all GUILTY!!  GRRR!!         Love the MagRegards Peter Hepworth   Edited By Timbo - Moderator on 07/10/2009 21:55:42
