  1. yeah i'm loving how slowly it seems to fly and the crazy things you can do with the fun cub (watching the video on steve webb models site) looks more fun than my wot 4 could be. wonder how much i could ask for my wot 4?...hmmm
  2. Would i be mad? The fun cub from multiplex just looks so much more of a laugh. Those flaps looks like it really slows it down into a floater. And those huge wheels would handle the long grass from where i fly. Basically i have my models down to 4 and i want them to be 4 that im gonna fly often and enjoy Radian pro (even this one might get sold off) E-fair glider for lazy summers wildthing slope soarer and the wot 4 What are your thoughts guys?
  3. Cool, thanks for that link, gonna have a good read Mark
  4. I had a last minute change of plan and just ordered some electrics for it be easier to fly if i go out somewhere on my own with it in the summer, hopefully it will also carry a gopro
  5. I havent joined the BMFA yet, but i will be. But i was just wondering. on joining, do you get insurance papers with all the small print? In this day and age with some many 'park flyers' about, and i myself am not member of a club and fly on a large quiet field but its still a public area, would they pay out if i hurt someone? Or does the small print say you HAVE to be on a private site in a club setting for you to be covered?. I've just never come across anyone question this yet. Mark
  6. 1h 46?!!! Amazing, it thermals well then! Hopefully it will teach me a lot about thermal gliding as at the moment I'm not learning a lot with my Radian pro (wish I never sold my 3ch version now) . I almost just bought another 3ch Radian but seeing as I have this E-fair coming there's no point really. Mark
  7. Nah mate, im on 2.4 Are you the guy ive read about in posts that used to carry all your models on a motorbike? Mark
  8. Cool, thanks for that tip! Yeah gonna be using my dx6i now with a 6ch orange rx Mark
  9. Decided im gonna put a servo operated release hook in the nose and tow it up on my mates wot 4 foam-e I already have a Radian pro to fill the electric glider spot so gonna build this e-fair as a pure glider...for now.
  10. Oh dear, the bug has bitten (again) and i just bought one of these last night. Gonna build it as pure glider and put a servo operated release hook in the nose and tow it on my mates wot 4 foam-e might bungee launch it too. Cant go wrong for £30! Brucie bargin! Mark
  11. And i havent even flown it yet and im wondering if the 60 inch version (fusion or wt) will fly better in low lift days and maybe getting one soon! haha Oh dear its started, i already bought a e-fair off hk last night to build as pure glider and tow it up on my mates wot 4... and i dont even have a spare room or garage to put all these models! Mark
  12. Cheer John, i'm really looking forward to getting this thing in the air! My square rx pack turned up yesterday and now i'm just waiting on 2 new servos for it and i can get it totally finished off. It's gonna be great not to have to pick up the pieces after a bad landing or a crash, that part im most looking forward to, i feel i'm gonna learn more with the wt than either of my radian pro or wot 4 foam-e as i'll be less worried about it getting broken. Mark
  13. Sorry, just saw the sticky in the beginner section, Based on what i've read im getting the 2836 750kv max power listed as 160w on 3s, should take the E-Fair/Cherub up pretty well i think. Mark
  14. Hi guys, This has most likely been covered on here before, but is there an easy way of knowing what motor i will need for a model? Ok, so the model is the HK E-Fair/Overlander Cherub (how could i not buy one at that price?!) It suggests a 28mm outrunner so i'm looking at the NTM series of motors from Turnigy (around £10) but i don't know which one ill need. So far i have the model: 545g airframe 1300mah 3s 30-40c packs Taking the specs of the 2826 1000kv motor: Max power= 200w on the 3s Prop test figures= 9x4.7/ 3s / 113w / 0.632kg thrust does that sound enough? do i need a higher or lower KV motor? or if someone knows what sort of watts/thrust i need i can look at the specs and get the closest one that matches. cheers guys, Mark
  15. Chris, you're gonna love it! Follow the instructions exactly like Alan suggests and you wont go wrong with the build, goes together VERY quickly. Just make sure you use the wing saddles to apply the tape and lay it on loose (it doesnt stretch anyway) so you don't warp the wing. Hardest part about the whole build is getting around curves with the tape. I can't wait to fly mine!
  16. How come my WT foam is white but the fusion is black? different foam or the same? Any tips on how to get the tape neat around curves like the wing tips (havent even attempted the body yet. I know it wont stay pretty looking for long but would like to get it as neat as possible. Noticed the coloured layer lifts up pretty easy around curves where it creased. A reacover will come sooner than i thought by the looks of things.
  17. Hi, yeah I realise the wt won't fly on a flat field, was just wondering if the model feels any different to fly on a windy day on the slope with rising air compared to a windy day out in the field with the air traveling in the one direction. Mark
  18. dumb question but is slope flying in wind any different in flat field gliding on a windy day? Cause it's a bit breezy out there today (has been for the last few days) and i'm too scared to fly my Radian pro, but i've seen people sloping the RP in quite a wind. I realise the WT will handle it a bit better, smaller and heavier but just wondered if i'm gonna struggle on the slope if i struggle out on the field?.
  19. Hi guys, question about setting up the elevons, by adding three clicks of up elevator and then setting the elevons level with the wing, that means by removing the 3 clicks of up trim i'll then get a bit of down elevator for windier days? Just wanna double check i have that right.
  20. Yeah it seems pretty strong now its had an hour to dry Time to start taping again, coloured layer now...here we go!
  21. So i'm just looking at the finished wings awaitng the orange coloured tape now. After covering the first wing i was ready for a beer! haha. 2nd wing i'd got the hang of it and did it much faster, although getting around the curves is a bit tricky. I've used the white glue supplied to join the wings, dried it with the hairdrier before bringing them together, seem secure enough once wrapped in tape. Maybe i would have felt a bit better using something a bit stronger, but i'm following the manual so the white glue it was. Yeah i won't try it in dead calm cause i know it will be a long walk to the bottom of the hill and back up lol. Just i haven't long been back in the hobby, and even though i can fly my wot 4 foam-e ok i'm really struggling with my Radian pro for some reason which is knocking my confidence back a little, crashed it a couple of times now in very light wind so don't wanna throw my wt off a hill in a gale and see if fly away haha. Mark
  22. I just can't wait to go and test it out! Having never sloped before my first flights will be on a steady hill in a soft breeze i think before i work my way up to bigger hills and bigger winds. I've seen some of the hills and winds you lot fly in on youtube and i think if i tried that just now my wt would be flying off somewhere and not coming back haha.
  23. Yeah i ordered the square pack Cool, ill put some strong double sided foam tape on the end and push it right into the nose then pack it in and leave it there. Snap, i was going to stick my orange rx to the top of the body in the main hatch and then just plug the battery in direct, i'll connect it with a short extension lead, hopefully everything will balance nicely without having to add extra weight anywhere.
  24. Also how does the rx battery stay in place? is it a push fit in the nose or do i need to try and get in there with some velcro or something? I'm still waiting for mine to arrive from overlander so don't have a pack to try yet. Obviously with the bumps this thing will be getting, i don't want the pack moving back and hitting my rx behind. Looking at the instructions it looks like i could add some double sided foam tape to the end of the pack and push it in to stick at the front of the nose, but am i gonna need to swap out rx packs during a days flying? (mine coming is a standard LSD 2300 nimh from overlander)
