  1. No flying, but did start a bit of an audit on my indoor airframes. I was thinking that same thing about Autumn coming in.
  2. An idea? You could reassemble the broken ends and apply thin cyano, might want to pin it down on a flat board. Then using the balsa from the lms, fashion some pieces that fit on the inside of the framework to support the joints. If there are big dents or crushed areas, try spraying or brushing on water and leave to dry overnight, this can inflate the balsa back near to original dimensions.
  3. Err, sorry. Got carried away and have it pretty much built with not one photo taken. once it's done and flown I'll post a couple of photos and a few notes. If the eRC gear proves successful anyone else that wants to give it a go can ask me all about it. Cheers
  4. Thanks to Micron, I received my new kit today. Superbly packaged in perfect condition. I'm transplanting the running gear out of my slightly battered eRC spit. Will post photos and commentary highlights of the process. feel free to ask questions/make observations. **LINK**
  5. Flyingwings have epp shockies too. Not had one myself but looks like they should tick your boxes
  6. Flyingwings would be worth a look, I'm sure Bob would supply a kit with all the radio and running gear along with a tube of uhu por
  7. Love it, hard to deviate from SAs schemes isn't it. They look just right
  8. Looks sweet, just ordered a liddleGee from micron. I built a SA g-ride years ago, sounds like the quality is just as good. I might see if I can scan the sheet balsa and use as the basis for a series of variants, must try a bipe version for instance.
  9. take a look at Stephens Aeros liddle series. Too cute for words **LINK** Micron deal in them in the UK. When I break my eRC Spit behond repair I'll transfer the radio and running gear into a liddleGee
  10. hmm, we did the shoes to planes ratio thing last week. I'm winning but I do build lots of stick and tissue free flight efforts. If the weather gets better I'll be able to get out and fly, should only take a few sessions cull a few off.
  11. ooh, I'm in. wouldn't it be amazing if I happened to be third out of the hat
  12. Mike, this is excellent. Great work. Mods, can we have a perma link in the site nav please
  13. Recommend Flying wings Raven. Great fun, amazing performance for the price and pretty much indestructible. I've folded the wings twice pulling out of full power vertical dives (can't blame the model on that) repaired and still flying 3 years on with lightweight glass fibre cloth. Bob also sells more sophisticated wings and his workshop is a few doors down from where they used to make Aston martins in Newport pagnel if you like that kind of thing.
  14. Yes please keep the indexes going. I would be lost without them.
  15. Definitely let Phoenix support know. They have always proved helpful when I've asked them anything
  16. You have finish on these http://z6mag.com/technology/nano-quadcopters-swarm-in-formation-to-reveal-a-scary-air-force-future-164926.html (sorry mods I can't do links properly on my iPad) These things are controlled by external computers
  17. If its non flying use tissue scrounged from a florists, glue stick should be good enough to glue it to the airframe. Don't shrink it or you'll ave a warped mess
  18. Can't wait to see the list Why not start with Cayley's glider? You really need to pick a common thread to follow all the way through or you'll never be able to pin down subjects. Aerofoil development could be good, tracking wing warping through ailerons to monoplanes to laminar flow to deltas to variable geometry ...
  19. Just like the real thing then Try to fly with some weather on. 3-5mps wind is good for starters. Also have the wind compass on, so you can take off and land into wind. See you online
