    Ernie, I think that is a good option but if you are not able to find the charger then the simplest method is the multimeter as with the help of the multimeter you can easily check the voltage of your battery at any time.

    I found the advices very useful myself when I carried out hand soldering on a PCB with IC(SN74ACT08D). I didn't burn out my IC which was a great part otherwise I would have to find somebody to install the IC or make the PCB all over again. Thanks folks for good advices.
