  1. Thanks for that Daithi, I'm a mite confused as you seem to be saying you were able to renew your licence on the phone without charge and without a paperwork trail. The OfCom site info, however, suggests that, amongst other options, a copy of my C&G pass certs is required and there is a, reasonable, charge of £20. C&G offer a search service at a charge of £44 but don't seem to guarantee success which I suppose is fair enough so could well be a dead end. I was RSGB member but I would need a (any) previous contact to produce his 30+ year old log books and make a copy of his entry - unlikely methinks do you know if we had a joyous conversation all that time ago, for instance? I'm asking myself. Is it worth it?
  2. Greetings from G6KBM. The above has not been used for some 30+ years. I have now, however, been offered a dual band rig and would like to see what happens out there nowadays. Whats my situation Daithi, please? I currently believe that I have to have my C&G documentation and submit them before renewal. I have changed addresses a few times since obtaining my first licence and will not have received any relevant mailouts as a consequence.
  3. I seem to remember seeing the original parked, unloved, for quite some while at Radlett. Bad luck on the "mishap", Simon. Having seen a repair or two of yours in the past I know this will be repaired, improved and back flying in no time. Another project to enjoy following!!
  4. Just remember at all times guys. Climate change is false news!!
  5. Gosh!! Heres me thinking that no one cared, Peter!
  6. Not on my Anglia,in the West of the region, Peter!!

  8. I was in 220 (St Albans) in the later 50's, Peter. Sadly, I don't think we could have fitted any of the MR's in the yard there. We even had to go over to the Station forecourt to carry out our drill practice - much to the amusement of the younger train travellers!!
  9. My ACT Squadron, Peter. Good luck on this build Tony. I shall, as usual, follow it with interest.
  10. Apparently they are full scale and supposedly off Moths that had been used for cropdusting. Apparently, they have been in the corner of a hanger for some 40 years. The seller states that they will need recovering and the structure will need checking over!! Cant see why on earth he's saying that.
  11. Hi Colin, Nice to hear that you are going to dust off the Chippy and get weaving. No Supermarine diversions are allowed - as much as that cries out to be built and maidened Happy New Year to you and all your thread followers. Andy
  12. Well this aviation enthusiast understands that a pay on entry policy would almost certainly result in a potentially massive influx on the day of traffic into what is essentially a quite rural area - should the weather turn out to be worthy of a day out for granny and the rest of the family - not forgetting the dogs!! I have just booked an expensive 4 week holiday in the far east. I am assuming that there will a no problems and delays on the Piccardilly Line and I will get to LHR in time to book in for my flight. Im hoping the December weather will not ground my 13 hour flight, that the French air traffic controllors won't be intent ln causing problems and that A380's will not be grounded for some reason ect, not go mention alarm clocks and so on, ad infinitum. I will be booking my two tickets for Scampton. I will hope the weather is good, and please let me meet a woman who will come to the day and enjoy it with me and I'm hoping she knows something about really worthwhile, calorie laiden picnics. Well done to everyone who has been involved with the conception, granting permissions and making the commitment to stage the event not^ to mention the team that has dedicated a fair chunk of their lives in the planning. Well done everyone. I'm in!
  13. That must be why I'm so confused. I am the product of good Yorkshire stock, but, born in Harrow!!
  14. Surely they'll be too posh to push, trebor!!!
  15. Looking good, Tony. Not long now 'til you get some air under those wings.
