  1. Posted by Caveman on 11/12/2013 12:46:30: Cymaz, the link you give for the Spacealker is £100.99, whereas the Soar 40 is $67 from HK UK (around £44). So I could have 2 Soar 40s for the price of 1 Spacewalker!! I'm not suggesting that the Spacewalker isn't a good plane, but I'm more than happy with my Soar 40 GDB recently purchased a soar 40 from hk........a great piece of kit for £44,,,,,,,,,,cant fault it in any way.......fly great ,,looks good,,,,and cheap as chips,,,,,a great plane to use as a trainer on a buddy lead,,,,,,,also purchases a nemesis .61 from hk @ £65 it was a great bargain,,,,build quality was exceptional,,,something to put together over christmas,,,,
  2. had it out again yesterday,,,,have now moved the c of g to 390mm from nose,,,,,now flying level and steady ,from low throttle to full power,,,,,,,at full throttle this the radjet is very stable and goes exactly where you point it,,,,,like it was on rails,,,,,,.........gonna get another kit version and upgrade the motor,,esc,,,battery,,,,,well worth the money.
  3. had it out this afternoon ,,,,,had a few flight,s ,,,,,moving the battery position each time,,,,,,it didn't go to well,,,,all over the place,,,,, I ended up with a c of g @ 398mm from the nose,,,,,,now its flying flawlessly.....this is with a stock setup and a 1300mah 3cell battery,,,,,,,a great little flyer,,,,,,,also a floater,,,,can be flown slow as well..........even with the stock setup it can get out of sight very quickly,,,,,,thanks for all the advice,,,,,,i can see me upgrading this in the future....
  4. had it out for a test flight,,,,,launched ok with a lot of torque roll,,,,,,got it levelled out,,,,,it continued to drop the nose,,,,,i had to hold some up elevator to keep it in the air,,,,,,,,possibly a trim problem,,,,,maybe c of g........I had it on 50% rates and still bloody responsive.........I got it down ok,,,,,would like some more info on the cg........ive read so many different opinions on this to the extent that I am now confused................
  5. have it balanced between the middle and the back of the finger grips its 410mm from the nose....had to cut out some foam and push the esc back as far as It would go,,,,,batterys charged and ready to go in the morning ,,,weather permiting,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,have set my rates at 50% just in case she gets wicked.....I don't like suprises... thanks again,,,,ill le you know how it went
  6. could you give me a dimension from the nose to balance point,,,,,as I have cut the top off the model and dug out some foam,,,,,for the battery,,,,,,,,,not much room for anything in the fuselage.............
  7. I have the rates set at 50%,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,how far back from the nose is your c of g ????
  8. ill give it a go,,,,,hope to get a fly tomorrow afternoon.,,,,ive ..been flying palnes for years,,,,but new to these little foam jets and this elevon mixing,,,,,nervous again......
  9. the c of g for this model is well documented as being wrong ,,,,,,can anyone tell me how to go about finding the c of g for the radjet,,,,im using a 3cell 1300mah 30c battery.....
  10. thanks everyone for the info,,,,,,everything setup and working fine,,,,,,,hopefully maiden tomorrow,,,,,ill post a review of how it went ,,,fingers crossed
  11. ive just assembled a radjet from hobbyking,,,,bought a new futaba receiver with an operating voltage between 4.8 & 7.4 volts ,,,,, the 3 cell lipo battery outputs 11.1 volts,,,,,,,,,does the speed controller regulate the voltage to suit the receiver?????,,,,,I don't want to fry it.......any help would be much appreciated....
  12. just received the hobbyking radjet,,,,,,,and was wondering what glue would be best suited for this build???
  13. im in the limavady club,,,,,it has about 12 members,,,with only 4 of us out at the weekends,,,,,the hobbie dosent have a big following in this area ,,,,there are bigger clubs in the surrounding area, but small numbers has its advantages. ,,,,,I fly a piper cub,,wot4 ,,,,,soar 40 which is a copy of a calamato,,,,,,,,a nemesis .60.....had a few others in the past which ended up as firewood,,,,,,,the wot 4 is a great flyer & also great as a trainer,,,,,,,,the boomerang or arising star trainers are great for learning,,,,,id recommend a buddy box for a while till you get the hang of it,,,,this way it,s easier on the pocket....a lot of people are going electric now,,,but I like the glow engines,,,,,i don't like the hassle of al those batteries for a few minute,s flying....,,,,,as for radio gear I like the futaba stuff been using it since I started flying rc,,,and never let me down yet............................if I can be of any help just ask........see ya later.
