  1. Allan, cymax thanks for the feedback @Allan, leave it with me and I'll see what I can do. A few others have also asked for some other stores, so I'll try and make it more useful.
  2. Posted by Allan Bowker on 24/07/2020 22:17:13: What can I say...? The Ferret has a new fur coat and it looks and works better than before. Thanks for your time on it Darren, much appreciated. The tesxt filter search to refine the results is a great feature. I tried to add a second filter but would only allow me one (me being greedy!). Is www.totemhobbies.co.uk worth adding? Thanks for the feedback Allan. Technically you can add a second filter. The filter accepts a regular expression so it is possible but constructing these are not for the faint hearted For instance if you did a search for 'battery' You could use a regular expression to identify 4000mah packs that are 2s using: 4000.*2s regarding totem, it looks a good fit so will add. Cheers D.

  4. Hi all, just to let you know that i've revamped the website (completely rewritten ) and added the ability to filter search results that are returned which I think will improve things greatly. Hope you like Darren
  5. Posted by Allan Bowker on 14/06/2020 17:30:02: Hi Darren, is there a problem with the feed to www.rcferret.co.uk from Nexus Modelling Supplies? I noticed they were missing from most of my search results (not all). As a test, I searched for a servo 'QZ601', knowing Nexus have 2 in stock @ £37.99 each but didn't get Nexus in my results (all stores, no exclusions). Only Pegasus, TJD & Slough RC returned matches in test. Thanks for your support. Hi Allan, Good spot, I was using their non HTTPs site which returned nothing. It is now fixed and working. Thanks again Darren
  6. Posted by MattyB on 06/06/2020 13:11:28: Nice tool. Please add T9Hobbysport, they have loads of FrSky stuff which I suspect many people will search for. Edited By MattyB on 06/06/2020 13:11:52 Will do, thanks for using
  7. Posted by Andy Stephenson on 06/06/2020 12:58:41: I hadn't seen this before, I just tried it and searched for 57mm spinner, I must say the results are impressively specific. Bookmarked at the top of my suppliers list. Thanks, Andy. Appreciate the feedback. Thanks D.
  8. Posted by Jonathan Sharland on 06/06/2020 09:00:35: Hi, I have just found this and it's so very useful. One improvement if your doing some dev might be able to do more specific searches. If I search for p51 or FMS p51 I get really relevant returns. If I search of swann morton no.2. I get everything with a 2 in it Not sure how this could be fixed but it would be good if you could use "swann morten" e.g. include both words together etc. Thanks Jon Hi Jon, thanks for the feedback - i will see what I can do, I am at the mercy of the retailer's own search mechanisms unfortunately, I have to in many cases filter and manipulate the results to make something half readable and relevant. Your point about returning results with a single digit match is a good one and I will address that.
  9.   they're still handy for batteries Edited By Darren Brooks - RCFerret on 06/06/2020 08:32:36
  10. just to add, i've removed the chaff from the search results (these are results that stores return which don't really match what was being searched for) which hopefully makes scanning through stuff quicker. Also added everyone's favourite cheap model store, Hobby King
  11. PS: Just tested it and yes, quite a difference! An item that I've been having trouble finding is now returning in the results. Brilliant! Makes all the effort worth it Thanks D.
  12. Evening /morning, Due to CV19, i've found myself out of a job and with a bit of free time on my hands. So i've taken a look at my RCFerret website with a view of a tidy up behind the scenes and to my embarrassment have realised that it was severely broke and next to useless. So, i've spent the last 2 days going through every store, removing the ones that sadly are no longer with us (I counted 10) and fixing the searches for approximately 60% of the store searches as they have either changed platform, website addresses, names etc (it was 4 years ago that I did this). So the searches should be helpful again, and going forward I plan on giving the site and app some much needed love.   As always if there is a store you think should be added let me know. Daz. 13. Posted by Allan Bowker on 17/04/2020 13:49:36: Just wanted to bump this thread, such a great website, especially while we are all dependant upon online ordering. Many thanks Allan, to be honest I pretty much forgot about the site, as it causes me so little problems. I think at some point I will refresh the list of stores, as some have unfortunately disappeared and new ones have arrived. If there are any online stores you would like added please feel free to let me know. Cheers Darren
  14. Hi all, just to let you know there is a free RCFerret iOS App now available in the App Store. search RCFerret in the App Store (UK)
  15. Many thanks Allan, I have actually an iOs version already completed, just needs to be submitted to Apple for review which hopefully I will do soon.
