Toto - can you please explain exactly what you mean by a procedural turn in the context of your flights ?
-
It is a proven fact that most bad crashes happen on the last flight of the day 😃

what would be the requirement to have an lcd readout of 'live' max alt/max speed?
When you say "live", where do you envisage the LCD being stationed ?
With the pilot so that the readings are live in real time or on the model so that they are available to view immediately upon landing ?

it is amazing how little time you need with the PCB in your hand to spot the fubar you spent a whole day looking for
That sounds all too familiar

Making a single string with several appended variables pushed it over the edge with erratic results
Do you mean Strings or strings ?
The former is notorious for causing problems in the small memory footprint of AVR processors, whereas the latter keeps the use of memory under control. Having said that, more memory and a faster processor at a reasonable cost is a welcome upgrade

As a matter of interest, what functionality would an ideal servo tester provide beyond cantering the output ?

What happens if you change the timing back to its original setting ?

The CAA website clearly states you need to register if the drone has a camera ( or weighs over 250 gram.)
Considering that he appears to have been unaware of the BVLOS regulations and ignored or disabled the max height warnings, what makes you think that he was aware of the need to register or, if he was aware, that he took any notice of it ?

the reveal/hid codes trick allowed you to sort formatting problems almost as quickly as the WYSISYG of Word
Word has this feature too so you can have the best of both worlds

That is almost certainly the case from his contributions here, but an Operators ID is required for commercial operations, as is insurance, so I think it quite reasonable to ask for details if they are required

Aren't you covered by the usual BMFA insurance as a country member?
Not if you use the UAV for commercial purposes
-
Whether you need insurance to operate a UAV depends on what you use it for and what class it is in. For recreational use no insurance is required

the destructions call for the bottom spar
So when are you supposed to fit the webbing between the top and bottom spars as you obviously can't fit it without both of them being present ?

Good service in correcting their mistakes, but it would have been better if they had got things right in the first place

why a world of difference ?
Because in the case of Councils selling details from the Electoral Register voters have agreed to it, albeit by not opting out
The option to opt out is clearly visible on the voter registration form as is the effect of not doing so

Whats new , so do local councils unless you opt out
There is a world of difference between Councils selling a list of names and addresses of voters who have not opted out when registering to vote and what Paul says EDF is doing in France. There is an even bigger difference between that and what was originally suggested, ie that delivery companies are passing on details of users who have had or are expecting a delivery leading to scams concering expected deliveries
For what it's worth I agree with an earlier post. Being opted out of the Council scheme to sell names and addresses should be the norm
-
If I understand you correctly, you are saying that your friend bought information from EDF about their customers ?
Is that right, and if so, where are both of you located ?

it's big business, EDF ( French electric company) have installed 'linky' connected meters, and sell the names and addresses off to company's
Have you got a link to where this information came from ?

Centering the sticks is usually a good start to sorting out most "what the Hell is going on ?" situations. You will often get clues as to which direction the model is going in and how it is responding, if at all, which is a good start. Even if you don't then you are in a good position to cautiously enter some deliberate commands, usually rudder or aileron, as you then know how the model should respond
Once orientation is sorted you can then start to decide how to proceed. Throttle up/throttle down/elevator up/elevator down any/all of them will have an expected outcome. Whether or not the model responds in the way expected will tell you a lot about the problem and how it should be handled
Whilst the process can be described, what happens in practice is that there is often not much time to think about it and experienced flyers take the necessary action by instinct, hence the original "How did you know what to do ?"

So it looks like in the event of a fail situation .... all surfaces to neutral and the throttle to fully closed.
Did you set the failsafe positions yourself ?

The article in the Telegraph is well written
What ?
With a headline like that ?
Despite the paywall I can see the first paragraph. Is there any proof of this collision that somebody suspects happened, or could it be another plastic bag like a previous collision between a drone and airliner at Heathrow ?
