  1. Hi Guys,   As I now have an aerial for 80m that works, I'd join you in a QSO. The downside is that the shack/workshop is unheated, but getting warmer. It is now only a semi tropical -1.5C, a big improvement over -10.5C earlier in the week.   Alex   PS I have a 2011 callbook if any callsigns need to be looked up, plus there is always QRZ.com.
  2. A GPS logger may be able to do what you want.   Alex   http://www.hamradio.co.uk/acatalog/Gadgets.html#a3755
  3. If you enjoyed Vulcan 607, try  "Phoenix Squadron" by the same author. It's about one of the last Buccaneer operations by the navy when they "Showed the flag" over British Honduras in 1972 to deter the US trained Guatemalan forces from invading.   Alex
  4. Hi,   The Shepherd, could also be Frederick Forsyth.   Alex
  5. Eric,   The "dreamland" books, Dale Brown, the first was "Flight of the Old Dog". The Good Shepherd might be Richard Bach. My favourite of his is Jonathan Livingston Seagul.   Alex
  6. Hi,   I use the TX that came with an Ember for my MCX,  It binds OK, just have to remember what the trim positionsare for each model.   Alex
  7. Hi,   I've never come across this thread before, interesting.   My call is GM7OAW.   I've not been on the air recently due to the workshop/shack not having any insulation or heating yet.   Mybe catch some of you on the air someday when the temoeratures go positive again.   Alex
  8. Regarding Paypal, they are only interested if it is a purchase via e-bay. The Paypal guarrantee that your money is safe does not apply to non e-bay purchases. I recently bought a camera and the supplier dissapeared before it was delivered. Paypal would only confirm that the supplier had no cash in their account. It took 28 days to get the money back from VISA.   Alex
  9. Hi,  I've seen a few french built Storches with the radial engine. I think they were built by Moraine? as the MS505 Cricquet.  Alex
  10. Timbo, Yes, I have been working with a very experienced instructor and we had the C of G as far back as we could. I've now had to change the engine and the new one is much lighter than the previous one. Plenty of power, but about 250 g lighter. I was looking for the info mainly so that I could set it up at home to the recommended position, so that we could get a head start on the set up with the new engine. Thanks for your suggestions, Alex
