  1. I feel very fortunate, I ordered a Wren 80 at the beginning of April and paid in full, they quoted 4/5 weeks. After 6 weeks I phoned several times ,they kept promising delivery in a few days with excuses like their suppliers letting them down, etc It did eventually arrive after ten weeks. How a company can be in so much debt when in effect their customers are providing free credit is beyond me. I have no inside information but I suspect the new company will be producing turbines for power generation etc . nothing to do with the model industry . As I said I feel very lucky and I feel very sorry for those who are out of pocket . I hope the new company will do the decent thing and at least fulfill their existing orders . Tim
  2. Once again thanks to GMAC for a cracking weekend ,glad it worked out so well after all the hassle leading up to it .Many memorable models but Ian;s Pitts stands out although I thought it was a little under powered, but I'm no expert!! Tim
  3. Brilliant news, been looking forward to this fly in for the last couple of months, but have been sulking since your "visitors" arrived, snapping at the wife , kicking the dog!!. For any animal welfare types ,that was a joke! Anyway, all smiles again.Dont know how you resolved it so quick, had some similar issues locally and it took a lot longer.Well done to all concerned. Tim
  4. Feeling a bit gutted seeing you all enjoying yourselves .I had intended coming but the forecast for Sun put me off. It's a 250 ml round trip for me, a bit much for one day. Enjoy tomorrow, lets hope the Met office got it wrong(they have been known to once or twice)!! See you all in May Cheers Tim
  5. Richard Thanks for posting the video,I did go and look at the Storch but I missed a lot of the detail the video shows (must be my age)! It's an amazing achievement, seems a crying shame to cover it. With all the new smart flexible lcd technology perhaps Solarfilm will come up with a covering that will go clear at the flick of a switch.bit like a welding mask Dont laugh, it will happen one day. I'll do some experimenting Now then where's the wife hidden her new laptop------ Tim
  6. David Thankyou.I was a bit dumbstruck when I heard my name called out. I didn't even know there were any prizes.I was chuffed to bits and I probably had a silly grin on my face all the way home. Tim
  7. What do you mean "older guy" I'll be 35 next month, I've had a hard life!! As some actor once said" I'll be back" Tim
  8. Ian's quite right, any mid-air is regrettable but usually it's just bad luck ,and you accept the risk. However with some models it's more than regrettable it's unthinkable.Imagine how you would feel if your foamie or Wot 4 caused the loss of the Sea Fury ,the 504 or the HP. amonst others The only thing worse would be to cause an injury to someone, which is why I wouldn't dream of flying with them, unless it was agreed and planned beforehand.Theres no getting away from it models with drastically different speeds and flying styles dont mix well.I dont know what the answer is but more Consideration,Communication,Common sense would help Tim
  9. Yes the Jungmeister was mine ,it's scratch built Tim Edited By TIM ANGELL on 25/06/2014 16:23:51
  10. Posted by Terry Walters on 25/06/2014 06:39:14: Really nicely put together Pete - I'm still suffering withdrawal symptoms so keep it coming! The way the Beaufighter was displayed was superb and very believable - I loved it - well done that pilot! Terry Thanks for the compliment, glad you liked it, much appreciated. Tim
  11. Slowly recovering from a brilliant weekends flying.I told you I'd ordered good weather(O yee of little faith)!! Like everybody I was amazed by Andy Johnstones rotary engine and the 504 is a work of art.As a very amateurish hobby machinist I was asking all sorts of silly questions, his obvious enthusiasm and his patience is remarkable A real gentleman. The Sea Fury! all I can say is wow! Bit dissapionted with Liam and his unicycle I expect to see him juggling a pair of running chainsaws next year,!! seriously HOW DOES HE DO THAT?? Hats off to Geenacres club, always a smile, never a cross word, especialy the flight line marshalls,They were firm but courteous, not sure I could keep my cool like that. Thanks to all concerned, shame it's 12 months till the next one. Tim
