  1. Hi Robin, Cheap is good, but all purpose is contact glue for £1 never sets hard like balsa cement it stays flexible and sands like rubber 😕 Happy gluing anyway 😄I This won't fall apart balsa cement for all of it only £3 good value + the great smell. Regards Ray
  2. Hi Robin, This is the 35gram size, I bought a couple of these tubes from TJD models mail order they are fine for small balsa models, I have built a KK Invader sticks & tissue, I would normally use Gorilla pva wood glue for bigger stuff, it's horses for courses at the end of the day 😄 regards Ray

  4. Thanks Alan, I find building Brian's design's most enjoyable, and keeps the grey cells working, balsa is my favourite material Regards Ray
  5. Hi David, Like Robin, I have been using UHU Hart balsa cement for years because it comes in big tubes and they have an applicator & cap I also use it for boat building as its waterproof & sands well. Regards Ray   Edited By Ray Wood 4 on 15/05/2020 09:29:43
  6. Hi Peter, Sounds like your describing me being a 1955 model !! Regards Ray
  7. Not that I'm aware of and I have used Bakers fluid in the past on model engineering projects. Regards Ray
  8. Hi Robin, Yes Poundland cyano & 5 min epoxy is all I use these days, but I still buy balsa cement, no real substitute in my mind 😄 damn the expense ! Regards Ray
  9. Hi Doc, I never had to replace a tip in 45 years I think you'll be ok ! Just a run over the tip with a file & re-tin works for me 😄 Regards Ray Edited By Ray Wood 4 on 14/05/2020 19:05:46
  10. Hi Doc, A good investment you can never have too much heat 😎, My collection. 25 - 240 watts Regards Ray
  11. Hi All, Week 5 of being furloughed and loving it 😉 all set to go flying but blowing & cold !! So far I have built a boat and the KK Invader very enjoyable, but back on the Valiant with the fin & rudder, as it's going to be a sport model I'm putting the horns & linkages on the outside, I have deviated from the plan for the rudder which shows 2 lamination of 1/2" balsa, and have gone for the built up version for lightness 😄 Regards Ray

  14. Must be the same one 😄 Mine had a ST 2000 On the front and flew well with the power on, but once throttled back had the flying characteristics of a manhole cover !! Regards Ray
  15. I'd go Sukhoi, What is the wingspan ?? 60" ? DB designed a Su26, but it was built up, that looks like foam. Regards Ray
  16. Thanks Doc That was the point I was trying to get across, I have members of my family who can't drive a car and in normal everyday life rely on everybody else, if you drive our motorways regularly like I do you would shocked at the number of bikes that get taken out by cars & lorries 😢 Regards Ray
  17. Hi Super, We have all been bikers (peddle bike in my case) with my single channel radio model tied on On the cross bar, 1971 but was not ideal !!! My Bond Bug was better in 1977 😎 Regards Ray
  18. Hi Super The reality of life these days is you need to be able to drive a car, I must be honest I only started rc flying after I had my first car as most clubs are far away from civilization and the only way to get there, keep your gear for the future, I've spent an alarming amount of money on my hobbies over the last 45 years but we'll worth it 😄😎👍 Regards Ray
  19. Hi Cliff, Just waiting for the "All clear" and a towline , Gypsy next rubber powered 😃 Regards Ray
  20. I thought at least it was a positive stand point given the current stats and we need to move on 😃 Hope if people are allowed to play golf, we can fly 😎 Regards Ray
  21. Hi Cliff, 52 years since I last built one of these 😃 KK Invader great fun !
