  4. Hi Mal Thanks for the reply, im not quite sure if its epoxy or polyester, its a mick reeves model i bought it second hand with all the plans ect it must be quite an old one as it doesnt look the same as the ones he produces now, The inside looks quite rough with a lot of strands/rough bits very much like the car repait stuff, i might send an email to mick reeves models to try to find out what its made from, is there any way i could tell? Regards Woody
  5. Hi guys Does anyone have any tried and tested ways of fixing ply formers into a glass fiber fuselage? I was thinking of epoxy and glass matt around the edges?? Especially the firewall as i am fitting a jc26 petrol engine into it, its a 1/6 spitrife. thanks woody.

  9. A couple of the old boys in our flying club at filton were on the design teams for those air intakes one worked for rolls royce the other for bae they have some stories to tell.
  10. I was stood at the end of the runway when alpha foxtrot made its final landing at filton, it was a great sight, concorde used to fly in and out of filton alot when i was growing up taking pleasure flights i still miss the noise of those takeoffs!!!
  11. Hi The woodspring show has been cancelled for this year due to waterlogged ground, check out their website its shame.
  12. Hi, I fly at filton airfield right opposite concorde on the taxiway, its a shame as it looks as though its not in a very good state as its outside its criminal really, doubt it will ever fly again if it does they will have to refit the engines!! regards woody
  13. Hi guys thanks for the replies, Graham yes i did join the sheet before i sheeted the structure, i bought the kit from ebay it has a fiberglass fuselage and the wing was almost complete already, i ordered the laser cut tail parts from mick reeves and somehow managed to ruin it! i have dampend the wood this afternoon and clamped it up, not sure how it will turn out! Pete do you think reskining it will sort it? i must admit i am inclined to build another one, and as Graham says its not just a hack!
  14. Thanks for your responce guys i will try to sort some way of clamping it up. woody
  15. Hi all I am building a mickreeves 1/6 scale spitfire, i am fairly new to building i have only ever built models with sheet wings and tails, the horizontal tail was built from the lazer cut parts and sheeted with 1/16 sheet, when i sheeted it i must have caused it to warp? My question is, is there anything i can do to sort it out or will i have to build another one? and what can i do to stop it happening again? thanks James

  19. Hi Tom sometimes I have to press my elevator and throttle trim switches a few times before it moves, it also does not beep i have read that you can clean the switches with petrol on a cotton bud if you strip the transmitter down, it seems quite common so I've read, I'm a bit disappointed as I had a 9c for years and had no problems Woody.
  20. Hi all The throttle and elevator trim switches intermittently don't work on my 10c transmitter, this seems to be fairly common when I search the net does anyone know where I can get new micro switches or is there anything I can do? I would rather not send it away as I don't want to be without it!! And I'm confident I can replace the parts myself Regards Woody.
  21. Hi marky cilck the link that steve has put on his post, its for John at motorvation model engines, He has just repaired my os 91fs it cost me £20 plus postage (i took the head off and valves out my self) the job he did was first class.
  22. I solder a brass tube on all my petrol engines, if the fuselage is sealed I run silicon tube from the carb into the back end, if the fuselage is not sealed you can fit an old 35mm camera film pot inside and run the pipe inside this, that will solve your problem for sure.
