  1. Thanks i will try mine on 4s next time as it wasnt as fast as i expected on 3s
  2. Did you have to change esc or motor to run 4s or does the stock items handle the extra voltage
  3. I was flying during the week a couple of days been a gusty wind this weekend so didn't bother I prefere to fly electric during the colder days if it's snow on the ground hand launch planes only. I have been having great fun with my cracked yak lite on the calm days
  4. having had one esc fail this year and the result was a destroyed aircraft. its the big question ubec or use a nicad or nimmh pack or can i use a alternative switching switch like a power box 12 and use the esc power supply and have the nimmh pack as back up. can you use the esc direct in to the receiver and also plug a nimmh pack in as well or would this over load the receiver. also if the main source packs up would the powerbox 12 switch quick enough as to not lose power to the receiver
  5. About the cutting the holes in the lower fuzz on my first I did the second I didn't I also fitted magnets to hold the canopy in place this was great until the canopy popped off mid flight plenty of air entering the fuzz and no vent. I then opened up the vents no problem. Prop wise I flew my 1st one with an apc 16/10 this was using the Kms motor set up my second had the hacker a50 16s which I used an apc 16/12 the Kms set up was nice plenty of power but the hacker set up blasts this airframe to the moon . I have just bought my 3rd wind 50 again using a hacker motor prop wise I am tempted to run a 16/10 as it will offer a slight increase in duration and will still pull it along. I also fly the sebart sukhoi 50 e with hacker a50 16s and 16/12 apc prop. These are fantastic airframes only weak point are the dodgy spinners supplied and egg shell wheel spats and I would love a carbon u/c.
  6. it sounds like a very friendly and helpful Club with lots of people wanting to help teach newcomers. my personal experience newcomers can't expect an instructor on tap but telephone calls or arranged times work better. i am a member of two clubs the smaller one has a good training system the other bigger club i beleive has a terible system as no instructors have volanteered for the job. therefore they offer little or no instruction and some of the flying practices are questionable. i have tried to help many a new member but as i have a busy work load and only one day free a week (mid week) i am unable to spend lots of time teaching.
  7. i have just ordered an Align 3gx flybarless control unit but i can't find any instructions online anywhere as i like to usually download and print them out so i can read them with bigger print. i will be fitting this to my trex 250 as i am moving my Ar7200bx unit to a new home a new trex 250 pro
  8. i fly all my aircraft on Futaba but fly all my hellis via spektrum due to all the e-flite bnf helis and now on my trex range i use the fantastic AR7200bx flybarless receiver i started with a dx6i then quickly moved to the dx7and now have a dx8i perfect for heli programming
  9. well after reading most of these posts yes dangerous models are being sold to unsuitable people who will crash and never return to our hobby.see my earlier post about toy shop in Hull. losing new people to the hobby cheap goods from HK well after seeing experienced flyers digress back to a basic trainer the bixlers as they are cheap it makes you wonder what people really want. as for HK service i have been using lipo's supplied from them as the price is great and usually good power unfortunateley i received a duff battery early January i contacted them and sent it back 1 cell showing only 1v i am still awaiting its replacement the customer service side is awefull. i have also had issues with other importers as well and to be fair the aftersales service has been great or fantastic Ripmax (futaba) also Horizon fantastic replaced both my faulty blade 130x's YT offer fantastic help along with Weston UK Good service from Robbe (Align) i had to push a little but things were sorted in the end. HK lots of talk but you need to man up take responsibility for faulty goods and replace them Edited By colin watson on 12/02/2013 14:28:19
  10. i have been on but had a problem connecting but managed in the end, chasing a faulty return
  11. i purchased some nanotech batteries for my 450 heli these are normally great with good C rating. i received them on the 11th of January first thing i did was check the batteries (hobbyking only accept a battery which has a cell difference of more the 0.245v to be faulty) one of the batteries had one cell registering only 1 volt not the minimum 3.3v for a lipo. i searched the hobbyking web site regarding returns, i also contacted them regarding this faulty battery. i eventually found the returns policy and after careful reading followed everyone of the instructions as it quite clearly states to omit any details will void the return. i sent the battery back the same day after many emails from kyle in the support centre still no joy they haven't received my battery amongst the excuses. it appears they just don't accept returns of faulty goods as three weeks later i don't appear to be any closer to receiving a replacement. Has anyone else experienced the same difficulties with this supplier?
