  1. Hello Pete, thanks for the message and tip. That mod will be done soon. For this flight i glued anti-skid tape of the kind used in stairs. It works reasonably well and it doesn't come off easily. Regards, Paulo.
  2. The landing was nice, even though the grass over here is a bit tougher and more abrasive. AKA as tarmac!
  3. Hello all, on a perfect day, ie, nil wind, my Vector flew nicely on its first couple of flights a few minutes ago. Check the photos on the álbum and more to follow, as well as vídeo. Best regards, Paulo🤓
  4. Nice!!! It looks like it will be supersonic with that engine setup Keep us posted. Regards, Paulo
  5. Nice! Your balsa pack is more than enough for this model, i'd say! Already thinking about the next project And you do build fast!!! Keep up with the pace. Regards, Paulo
  6. Good to know you're working on your Vector. I used a razor plane to profile as much of the wing as i could. Then finished with some sanding. As for the Vector album, if it's the one i set up, i can see it correctly. Paulo
  7. Excellent! You won't regret it. Have fun with the build and keep us posted. Wish you all a great weekend! Paulo
  8. RC Plane Flyer, My setup is very close to the recommended specs in the plan: EMAX CF2812 1100Kv w/ aprox. 700g thrust, Wasabi 25A ESC, 7X6 prop, 3S - 1300 mAh battery A higher revving motor will probably create less torque, which might be a good thing. Paulo
  9. Posted by unleaded on 03/10/2019 23:42:18: Pete and Paulo just want to let you know that mine is still flying.rc plane flyer I have a cheap HK 1200kv motor in mine and it's great do it you won't be sorry, mine still turns heads at the field due to being so unique Good to know your Vector is still going strong! Last saturday the commemorative event of the 67th anniversary of my club. Being the "supreme leader" of it I was a bit busy with other stuff. I thought it would be better to leave the maiden flight for another day. The weather and wind was fine, though. Next weekend the weather doesn't look good for such a light model. Regards, PP
  10. A good option as well. The Mini-Blitz is a lot simpler to build. And a handful in the air!😁 Keep us to date please! Regards, Paulo
  11. Posted by RC Plane Flyer on 01/10/2019 11:13:51: So having read the thread three times checked the plan etc three times read the mag three times just been in hanger to double check motor spec and its not going to happen. My motor is 1150 Kv and needs at least 9" prop to deliver 1100 grams thrust C'mon, think twice and find a suitable motor. It's a pity you don't go for it! Paulo
  12. Posted by Pete Collins on 17/09/2019 10:22:00: Mine was built about a century ago and the power system consists of am MFA Mini Olympus geared/brushed motor (Anyone remember those?) with a six cell pack of AAA Nimh's. Amazingly it still flies but those batteries do make it unnecessarily heavy. I keep intending to re engine it with modern gear but I have the 'around to it' problem! I would say that any outrunner that draws around 100 - 150 watts would be more than ample and you want to be using a 2 or 3 cell Lipo of about 850 mAh. (Add lightness and improve flight). Thank you for your inputs on this. Paulo
  13. Posted by Pete Collins on 16/09/2019 11:05:14: Just checked the link - Nice model -I'd love to know what it was covered in! Most likely Oracover. Next time I meet the owner I'll ask for details. My Vector is covered in that material. As for your Ladybird, it's a gem! If I go the electric powered route, what would you recommend? I have brushed and brushless motors available at home. PP
  14. I'm not the builder nor the owner of that beauty, but I wouldn't mind...
  15. In the meantime, as you are a total aeromodeller, check this one out: https://www.facebook.com/ClubeAeroLisboa/photos/pb.136904419773839.-2207520000.1568587520./1652041904926742/?type=3&eid=ARD0p-GmY5NU5hhuLCtgGgJdHn1btBRr07a3Xcgbb_X54_sBfDNIOL9rUox8-dCmsndwUJM26QLjboOw PP
  16. Posted by Pete Collins on 15/09/2019 09:41:50: PS. Nice looking Vector - Good luck with the Maiden flight. Thank you so much for your words. I'll keep the thread posted. As for records in building models, I have a KK Ladybird kit offered by my father way back in 1978 for my 12th birthday! It's not finished yet, even though I'm looking forward to have it done by the end of the year. An FF model that I had the fuselage all built up and ready for C/L flying. Life intervened I sent it to the trash bin just a few years ago thinking 'i'm going to sorely regret this...'. I did. Nonetheless I've kept the original box with a plan and still have all the other parts for the tail feathers and wing!! I'll create another thread and let you know. Paulo
  17. Posted by Dad_flyer on 14/09/2019 22:39:57: Thank you for the links. I love the colour scheme. Thank you! I'll check whether it really helps with orientation in the air. Regards, PP
  18. Posted by KiwiKid on 14/09/2019 22:01:22: Posted by Dad_flyer on 14/09/2019 21:33:41: Paulo, that's different. What is it? Build thread is here: **LINK** And some more pics here: **LINK** There you go Dad_flyer. KiwiKid found the threads at warp speed.   Edited By Paulo Peres on 14/09/2019 22:09:32
  19. Posted by Dad_flyer on 14/09/2019 21:33:41: Paulo, that's different. What is it? Hello Dad_flyer, It's called Vector. A model by Pete Collins published in RCM&E of March 2016. I agree it's a very unusual shape, that's why I chose it to build! Search in this site for threads and albums under 'Vector' and you'll find more information about the model. Regards, PP
