  1. Posted by Dave Wilshere on 14/07/2017 21:24:57: Graupner have recently changed their support in the UK, letters have now gone out to retailers, but its early days and things are still being put in place. I'm (Motors & Rotors) now the UK support for Graupner products. In this instance the retailer should contact me 01923 270405 [email protected] and I'd try and sort things out. I'm on a vertical learning curve catching up on radio things, but I have a long and happy relationship with Graupner (they were one of my first agencies-back in the good days) Dave Wilshere Edited By Dave Wilshere on 14/07/2017 21:25:22 Cheers Dave TBH I've given up with both the UK seller and Graupner - For the cost of an original spec servo (plus P&P) it wasn't worth the grief. Nearly four weeks without even getting close to a a resolution.... Seven emails to Graupner and two to the UK seller. Response from Graupner...? The person who deals with problems is off sick with no idea when he'll be back, so tough... you'll just have to wait. Response from seller...? Incorrect servo sent in replacement then no response to request for original spec servo. Would I purchase a Graupner again? Probably not. Would I order from the UK seller again? Definitely not. I'm not in the business of public naming and shaming but Dave if you want to know who the seller was feel free to PM me.
  2. A bit of advice please... I bought a Graupner ARTF plane from a UK seller which turned out to have a faulty wing servo. I contacted the seller who sent me a replacement servo but it wasn't original spec and would mean that I'd have to hack a bit off the wing of my new plane which I didn't want to do. I've sent Graupner three emails asking if they could send me an original spec servo but I've not had a single reply... not even an acknowledgement. I even sent them video of the faulty servo. The plane is all glued together so can't be returned without smashing it up. Graupner are not bothered about trying to resolve the problem. Question is, I'm not sure what to do next?
  3. Last one... There was a feathered bird called Mable Who built rc planes on the table The biggest problem was The bald bloke because His mind was slightly unstable.

  7. Posted by Paul Marsh on 10/09/2015 22:21:16: You might get £5 if you're lucky, though the OS carb makes it more valuable, normally you can't give it away for free. So £7.50 then?? As a noob to this sport it still amazes me how much knowledge there is on this forum. I noted the lack of OS markings on the engine and should have put two and two together. I've not heard of a MDS before and clearly no surprise - I won't make my fortune selling it? I don't want to just bin it... I suppose it is typical of the society we live in where perfectly working pieces of kit are superseded and are no longer the thing to have. Oh well... It might just have to go in the box of bits marked 'To Good to Throw But of No Use Whatsoever' for my kids to sort out when I'm gone. I'm going to need a bigger garage............
  8. Hi Can anyone tell me what this engine is? It came on an old sport plane I picked up but I want to convert it to electric - the IC is therefore surplus to requirements and its sale is going contribute towards the conversion. Any suggestions for an electric equivalent would also be appreciated (Turnigy G46 is the obvious choice I suppose?). I think it is an OS Max 40? Markings on the carb are 4A and 04 92 1020 is stamped on the mounting lug. Any help is much appreciated
  9. Just got back from flying my Bixler 2 in what was (for me anyway) very windy conditions - according to BBC weather approx 17mph. As a very novice flyer it was very much on the edge of my capabilities, and on one occasion beyond . Having said that I had two good flights and came home with a fully intact plane . Well... you have to push yourself to get better don't you? The Bixler handled the wind brilliantly and I won't be put off any longer by 10+mph winds - more opportunities to get on the sticks i suppose
  10. Posted by Kevin Wilson on 01/07/2015 10:00:12: I would be interested of 1st hand accounts as to whether an honest seller can get a bit bashed up by e-bay wanting to keep buyers happy. ebay will always take the side of the buyer - sellers on ebay are 2-a-penny. I recently sold something that I knew was working when I shipped it. It was well packaged and couldn't have been damaged in transit. However the buyer contacted me to say part of it wasn't working and he wanted a 50% refund. After numerous emails back and forth, I suspected he was trying to pull a fast one and wanted to claw back some of the money he had paid. I refused a refund and he opened a dispute with ebay. This put a block on my funds in paypal. Their solution was for him to ship the item back (at his cost) and he was automatically refunded his full amount (including original P&P) from my account so ultimately I lost the cost of shipping - not a huge amount but still a few quid. When the item arrived back, guess what? It worked perfectly. However because the dispute was closed by the buyer there was no way that I could complain to ebay. All subsequent emails to ebay were ignored. I'm becoming less inclined to use ebay - costs for ebay and paypal seem to be getting more excessive and you end up only getting something like 80% of your final selling price.
