  1. Thank you all for your advice, received and understood! Kind regards Julian
  2. Gentlemen, Thank you for the replies. Based on the information given, I should simply connect the identical LiPo's in parallel to the charger in "storage" mode, set the correct voltage, following which the charger will then automatically adjust the amps to the correct value. Once I am ready to use the batteries, presumably I will need to re-charge them after bringing them "out of storage"??? Kind regards Julian
  3. Could anyone give me some advice please? I'm successfully using a Turnigy Accucell 6 to charge my LiPo batteries. I see the charger also has a "storage" mode for LiPo's. Is this function for storing batteries in a fully charged state?? If so, how high should I set the amps for "storing" a 3200 mAh 3S 11.1v LiPo? If the above is correct, can I store multiple batteries off one charger using the correct parallel wired lead? Thank you in advance for any advise. Kind Regards Julian

  5. Posted by Shaunie on 10/08/2015 22:27:11: I had a Masterline Vandal, 7lbs 55" span ST61 on a tuned pipe, it was my favourite plane of my first flying career.. I've still got it and the engine, I intend to rebuild it with new radio, just to see if it's as good as I remember. Shaunie. Co-incidentally I've got a Vandal in the loft, crashed it on its maiden flight about 25 years ago (due to a complete lack of experience!). Now I'm re-learning the hobby I'm wondering if I should finish the repairs & have another go at flying it........?
  6. What about 'The Great Waldo Pepper'? A real barnstormer of a movie in every sense of the word! **LINK** Julian

  8. Excuse my ignorance, but which models are best for windy conditions??? Gliders???
  9. Thank you Gentlemen for all the replies, some great ideas there. The repair is now complete after I removed some small carbon rod from an old glider wing & managed to thread it into the fin. We're flying again! Kind Regards Julian
  10. Dear All, Could anyone advise me on the best way to repair a 'crease' in my tail fin? I'm concerned about flex now that the fin has been bent and straightened. Any advice or opinions gratefully received! Kind Regards, Julian

  13. Magnificent! Thank you for sharing, one can only admire the ingenuity and shear courage of the inventors! Regards, Julian
  14. Thank you Gentlemen for taking the time to reply! after taking 'on board' your valuable comments we decided that all is well with the plane & decided that for a first flight, beginner mode would suffice.....So this morning "Team West" (father & son) completed all the pre flight checks as per the manual & tentatively hand launched. As per your comments, the Apprentice pretty much flies itself! Despite some fairly strong gusts we managed a couple of successful flights & perhaps more importantly a couple of successful landings. Unfortunately, rain stopped play. we're both looking forward to some better flying weather so we can gain some more experience! thank you all for your help! kind regards Julian
  15. Hello! i was wondering if anyone could help with any advice or opinions? In carrying out pre flight checks on my newly assembled Apprentice, it appears the 'intermediate' flight mode is not functioning, ie not self levelling the plane. with the model powered up, & in 'beginner' mode, holding the plane in my hands & moving it at varying angles the control surfaces move 'by themselves' in order to level/correct the plane. I have also operated the panic switch & watched the control surfaces move accordingly. However, when carrying out the same test in intermediate mode there is no self levelling, regardless of whatever angle I hold the plane at..... Even if I invert it, the control surfaces do not move unless I pull the panic switch. i have checked the position of the micro switches on the receiver & tried reversing channel 5 on the DX5e tx (3 position switch). Everything is brand new, fully charged & I've checked all connections..... Has anyone else experienced this & does anyone know of any solutions? thank you in advance for any suggestions, kind regards Julian
