  1. Hi FUTURA57 , These flights were done with the only goal of making the perfect flying shot in the perfect lichting on the top side of the plane . This resulted in thesame figure over and over .As stated before , the weather conditions were everything but ideal, and sunny moments were rare that day. To give the photographer (Phil Cooke ) more time , throttle percentage was at minimum. Thanks for the comment ! Better video asap !
  2. https://youtu.be/0oUyZ1aoddc?si=Rj10xenHl0h0FEwU Hi all ! Here's a link for the flight video after paint Thanks all for following all these years ! I'm also very glad to say that there's an article coming up in the October or september issue of RCM&E !! THE CHERRY ON THE CAKE !
  3. HI ALL !! THAT'S IT she's done... I'm Just going to post 1 photo as a trailer because : i'm very happy to say , she will be in the RCM&E MAGAZINE !! I want to say thank U all for following , commenting, helping me to achieve and completing this wonderfull bird !!! i will post a video giving the best of her in the air . The first chance i get i will fly her in the UK to give U the chance to see it live. If U know a good opportunity, like a big fly-in , please shout! THANKS ! Dirk
  4. Hi Paul ! I hope you talk about the glue ?? Never seen magnets stick to wood... No , serious, one on the inside , and one on the outside
  5. Forgot to mention: Little magnets help a lot to hold the Windows while the glue cures
  6. Hi Dave ! It's a regular seal and bond polyurethane , availeble in White, black , Grey . If you want the speedy one , look for glazing glue in the automotive sector , dries in 60 min.
  7. The rear canope part opens due to the suction. It's proved to be working... 20250411_222123.mp4 X
  8. Hi all ! @ John :I hear you John , and fully understand you , but that's what i made it for...I will be carefull , promised ! All windows are in , the spring operated cheat hole -back window included
  9. Hi all ! First window is in ! I used polyurethane to glue them in X
  10. Hi all ! Forgot all about the rudders ! Gave them thesame treatment followed by some weathering. I used dry sanding guide for this. You can apply as much as you want and take it away with a 3M Grey sanding sponge ! Next on the list (getting shorter! ) is putting everything together for some last inspection !! Then some clear coat , the canope windows fitting and go FLYING !
  11. Hi all ! Thanks for the likes everyone !It keeps me going ! Right , the fuse !.... She's so beautyfull and i have to make it dirty : it's the opposite of what i'm trying to do in my daily automotive job !! making cars look shiny again. first thing i do is rub the paint into the panel lines and let it dry.Not long enough and you wipe the paint away , too long and it gets hard to wipe the exess off ! it's wall paint , water based, so you can wipe it off with a wet cloth , for a cerain time ! Then it gets very hard te remove. now you know it's scarey business !! Tomorow the rest and then the weathering...
  12. Hi all ! After filling the panel lines i tried some weathering. I think it turned out not too bad... Tomorrow the top of the fuselage is next and last.
  13. Hi all ! Finally started the weathering... You can reed as much as you want about techniques and tricks ,but it's very stressing when you're with the paint in your own hands ! Hope this turns out OK.... Maybe not so clear in the pics but it's a whole other wing now !
  14. Hi all! Switched from "rubb-on" system to selfmade waterslides : much better ! X
  15. Hi all ! Today i took a shot at placing the decals of the breaking glasses onto the fuselage with succes !Another hurdle passed. Also tried the rubb-on charters on the wings .It's very hard to line them up perfect.Sadly i can't use then in front of the inlet for thesame reason.
  16. Another (new to me ) technique to dress your models : These "rubb on " numbers, signs , work fast and effectieve! ordered them in Holland fairly cheap. X x X X x X X x
  17. Hi all ! Still working on the decals ! One of the hardest details on the fouga are the breaking glasses for the emergency canope handles.I took a photo of them in a book and copied them on waterslide decal paper (White because they end up on a dark base ). The first attempt failed as the ink resolved in the water .The next ones i gave a coat of varnish first with great succes ! Now on the fuselage !Wish me luck !
  18. Hi all ! Before i try more weathering , i started to paint the decals by using paintmasks, not without some adhesion problems along the way ! Practice makes perfect right ? Some of the first results: Me happy !
  19. Hi all, Thanks for the input ! I tried again this evening after giving the base a light sanding (the base is water based varnish ). Took away the mask direct after spraying the paint , so far so good ! Many more to go ! Thanks again ! X
  20. Hi all , I'm having problems painting decals on my fouga magister (building blog in the electric ducted fan section ) Sinds my decals were ruined (protective paper sticking) i had some paint masks made by a friend. I'm trying to use them now on my fresh painted surface. I placed the mask in the right position , masked the rest with paper against overspray and painted the decal with VALLEJO model paint.(water based acilic ). When finished and after 10min waiting i tried to pull away the mask and the paint of the decal came off like it formed a skin together with the paint on the mask ! Can anyone tell me what went wrong ? Schould i wait longer to peel off the mask ? Wrong paint ? Any help is very appreciated ! Thanks , Dirk
  21. Hi all, No flying weather , so we're in the shop ! I gave some more parts a very thin coat of jacht varnish to protect the paintjob from being messed up by the weathering...dont ask... Some varnished parts got the first attempt of highlighting panel lines. It'OK i guess but the real pain comes whe i start using the little spray-gun for "misting" the dirt arround... Fingers crossed , again !
  22. After a very thin cote of varnisch , i fiiled the panel lines with black-ish paint and then washed the most of it away to highlight them. Never done this before but educated myself with dozens of video's and magazines. Hope it turns out OK...
