  1. Looks like it's working on Vimeo now! Did you change a setting (it's in the settings for the video under privacy on the left) or was it the thing where it's being re-encoded after upload before?
  2. Some more videos from mine... I have some more that I haven't finished editing yet.    It's surprisingly reasonable in very poor light.
  3. Thought anyone following this thread might be interested to know that Hobby King has their version going at a reduced price for 12 hours, $14.99. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=11867
  4. Thanks for the info, in the end I just flew my electric fox in a spare empty field that was part of the campsite. Video here:     The conditions were perfect! There was a strong northerly the day after, but I didn't have time in the end to try sloping at the white horse (and never did find time to convert the other fox into a mini slope soarer before I went either - still on the to do list!). I was surprised not to see anyone else flying there when I drove past. Edited By David E on 07/06/2010 21:11:29
  5. Gemma, maybe take a paper clip with you. A quick press of the reset button and it should turn on ok... if it's the same as mine, anyway (808 type 3)
  6. Marc, I see where you're coming from, but the club pays to use the field. The travellers don't. The club use a key to access the field, the travellers didn't. The club leave the field in a good state. The travellers didn't. It isn't discrimination to feel agreived!
  7. Here's a second vote for trying another cable. If it hasn't charged up properly that would explain it turning off after a short period, or not turning on at all.   Also if it won't turn on, try the reset button, a paperclip is ideal for pushing it.   Good luck!   The manufacturing quality of these is obviously hit and miss, but that's not surprising at the price!
  8. I've actually been amazed at how decent performance from mine has been in poor light, so although it will be better with good light, don't worry too much. The most challenging conditions for these cameras is probably a day with sun and cloud, as the dynamic range will be very high.
  9. lol thanks... I just figured out how to get the embed code!
  10. Posted by Gemma Jane on 01/06/2010 16:04:12: I've got a massive loss of quality on uploading to youtube though. I've seen way better quality clips on youtube from these cams, any tips of what I should do to preserve the quality on upload?Yes! Use Vimeo! The quality is so much better and the playback smoother as their servers are less overloaded! eg my video above: http://www.vimeo.com/11874771 Now we just need vimeo embedding on this site, as with RCGroups. 11. Posted by Roger Adams on 01/06/2010 14:28:00: ... "the unwanted" had been tipped of as to the presence of the location by a former club member who they had paid for the information.  What a nice chap...  I would suggest writing to your MP to ask them to lobby for a change in the law. I think the new government might be more sensibly inclined towards this kind of thing, at least if they back up the things they said while in opposition with action (never guaranteed!) 12. If a kink in the exposed pipe is restricting the flow, would it be possible to clamp the pipe shut by crushing it? Perhaps then enclosing the crushed part in concrete?? I think there will be a very large volume of oil in there. They have been trying to skim it off the surface all along - it's not very effective  I wonder what would happen if they piped oxygen down there and burned the oil as it came out???
  13. Wow, that's truly sickening Sorry to hear that your club has had this trouble. I might mention it to our club committee despite being a long distance away. Glad you managed to thwart the further invasion. This might need moving to another section of the forum so more people will be aware of the issue... I'll ask an admin.
  14. Another one: Sussex Helicopters  Sussex Helicopters Ltd Unit 9 Forest Row Business Park Station Road Forest Row East Sussex RH18 5DW Phone: 01342 823111 Email: [email protected]
  15. I hadn't managed to find a webpage, from what I heard, they have only just started up, so perhaps they don't have a page yet. On the other hand, I may have found the wrong name and address, and it could be a defunct business - let us know what you find out!
  16. I bought a Tx from Inwoods a year or so ago, the service was good, but I did feel there was a slight hint of pushiness over the phone. Their website isn't the best out there (actually most UK R/C retailers could improve a lot here!) but has improved quite a bit since. I'd buy from them again as their prices are really very competitive.Edited By David E on 01/06/2010 12:48:16
  17. A club mate mentioned a new shop in Salfords, near Redhill. From a bit of internet searching, I think it's: Red Baron Models‎34 Brighton Road,Salfords,RedhillRH1 5BX01293 785 675‎ I'd recommend phoning them to see whether it's a mail order, internet, shop front etc. - I don't know any more about it than this!
  18. Do double check the elevator direction! Hope the rebuild proves easier than expected. To look on the bright side, you'll have great repair skills when you're done! Best approach has to be to rule out possible causes so a glide test followed by bungee no-power launch would be my approach. Hope you can sim it down quickly.
  19. Bummer sorry to hear that. I don't have anything to in on, obviously, but other things worth checking/considering for the next attempt might be: -Are all control surfaces moving the right way? -Is the catapault causing the rotation by applying force behind or too far below C of G? -Is the tail incidence ok? How about trying a throttle off catapault launch with glide straight to land? Might help narrow down cause?
  20. I got a "type 3" 808 key fob cam (as described on the chucklohr.com link earlier in the thread) fom ebay; it cost me £7.49 inc. P&P!   I'm very happy with it, for the money. It would be nice to be able to turn off the date/time stamp, it's a shame it stretches it to 720x480, the USB cable was a duff and I sometimes have to reset it after disconnecting from computer, but once you've learned it's foibles, it's superb for the money. Buying from ebay is tricky as you have to figure out from the specs whether it's a type 3 camera or not!   I wonder if the Hobby King one is any good? I'll have to look at the sample videos on HK later. Does anyone know if it corresponds to any of the types described on chucklohr.com? It apparently outputs 640x480.   Here's a sample video:   http://www.vimeo.com/11874771
  21. Here's a video of my conversion: http://www.vimeo.com/11646435
  22. Thanks Bob, yes, some of those air to air shots looked a little close, particularly the upside down aerobat!
  23. Well, here's the video:   http://www.vimeo.com/11874771   Not the greatest video ever, but you can see how the gusts are affecting it.
  24.   A few more night flying pictures. Used rear-sync flash this time to pick out the plane. Incidentally, this plane at this location caused two police officers to make a UFO report to the local station a few weeks back - LOL! X-D It made the local paper
