  1. It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing away of Chris McG6969 An excellent model builder and also triple Belgian champion Rally Cross. R.I.P.my friend.

  3. I have no clue what you are saying but the pics look great. Convinced this is going to be a wonderful plane. Keep up the good work McG! Lot(h)s of love, - Iris BRU - BE/CTR Chinese Control
  4. Posted by McG 6969 on 03/10/2020 18:34:54: Hello again, Beside assisting the LotH with her employment issues, I went to have a go at the wing seat. I opened up the gap from wing to fuselage side following Dirks method of 'gradual' sanding back till I got an opening of 3mm. After Sellotaping the wing, I filled up the gap with a 3mm wet 'stringer', let it dry and glued it in. The Dog - of course - has very different fillets/fairings at the wing seat than the standard F-86. In fact there are less fairings along the wing seat with quite smaller ones at the TE. I guess I'll just have to sleep on it before attacking the other side... Hakuna matata & stay safe please Chris BRU -BE / CTR Seating Control The LoTH is thanking you a lot for your help I also see the lion. But then again, I see lots of things all over the place... My sound system on my desk looks like a guy staring at me with open mouth hahaha.... This being said, great job Chris! I am like Falty Towers Manuel from Barcelona: "I know nothing"... about building model planes but I know you and as usual, your approach is well thought of and worked out until the tiniest detail... I know I sometimes tease you with this 'authistic' approach as I call it, but let's face it, sometimes I wish I would be a bit more like you... Keep up the good work! Hakuna and LoT(h)s more, - Iris
  5. Posted by john stones 1 on 23/09/2020 00:44:02: Been busy of late, not missed a post yet though, i'm expecting a top class paint job on this, don't let me down. Hope Iris n the little fella are well. Thank you for the kind wishes John. As Chris mentioned very busy with work and if not work with my hobby (drawing). Don't forget your predictions for the Russian GP... Chris, keep up the good work and if you see Gaston, say hello to him from me... I kind a miss him! Don't take it the wrong way, I am sure that what you are writing here is innovating en full of useful information, but as you know I am far from technical and I just love watching your pictures. They are even better with Gaston in it. Keep on building! Hakuna mata, Iris BRU - BE/ CTR Cheers Control
  6. Wow... amazing Chris. And giving me a great excuse to buy some more shoes in case you need another shoebox. Glad to be of help! Keep up the great work. I don't know much about building (actually I know nothing about building) but this looks perrrrrrrrrrfect! Hakuna etcetera, Iris BRU - BE / CTR Shoebox Stock Supplier
  7. Know nothing about model building but such great detail! I love it! If I would have met you when I was a little girl, I would have asked you to make a Barbie house... Keep up the great work. Hakuna patata! Iris BRU - BE / CTR Detail Control
  8. Posted by McG 6969 on 07/04/2020 20:27:04: Hello again, ‘Small bits duty’ part #2. I started to concentrate on the cockpit furniture and had to have a careful introspective journey into my SHD - aka the Specialty Hoarding Drawers. Great detail McG, you're the best! Please continue with great work on the cockpit furniture and after that, I have some household furniture that could also use some great work @Dwain Nice to read you are doing better now! 10. Posted by john stones 1 on 22/12/2019 18:37:12: A4 B3 C3 D1 E2 Merry Xmas. Iris Chris Gaston. Hi John, I could say I was too busy 'stuffing the turkey' to have noticed the Xmas greetings, but I would be lying. We ate fondue because I don't like being in the kitchen the whole day. And then I was drawing. And then I realized it has been a while since I looked at Chris's blog only to find your very nice greetings. Too late now for Christmas wishes from me, but let me be the first to already wish you all the very best for the year to come! Warm regards, Iris BRU - BE / Party Control
  11. Oh dear... there goes my 'discrete' intermezzo. Are you comparing me with the 'bucket' lady? I hope so not Richard... oops I mean Chris... Have fun building. I follow but as you know I am not as 'technical' as I would like to be and although my level of English is quite acceptable, sometimes this all sounds like Chinese to me. But love the pics! So neat, tidy and organised! Really you! So keep up the good work. Lot(h)s of love, Iris BRU - BE / CTR Organisation Control
  12. Again a very nice and detailed build Chris And now I also know where my waffles are... Was looking for those... Anyways, now I know why you weren't hungry and don't tell me Gaston ate those... Keep up the great blog and work, Lot(h)s of love - Iris BRU - BE / CTR Waffle Control
  13. Posted by onetenor on 25/12/2018 22:16:56: Sorry Iris I forgot you are Flemich Oops I've it now. I meant Flemish. That was a genuine mistake but left it to show even the English can get it wrong I wish my languages were as good as you'rs and Chris's English. Edited By onetenor on 25/12/2018 22:18:51 No need to apologize. I do not feel insulted and to be honest, Belgium is about the size of a pea so not easy to understand there are so many differences. To improve my English I play Scrabble in the language of Shakespeare and that helps...
  14. Haha, that is grateful of course! Although greatful sounds really positive too! I do not like zpellingmizteaks. - cheers Iris
  15. Dear John & Andy, Thank you for the wonderful wishes. Love your poem too John! Andy - between you and me - I was sorry for Chris that he had computer issues but I am also a bit greatful that he finally uses his new laptop that I bought him... nearly two years ago. The old one made a sound as if it were a helicopter or something and I was afraid it could take off and hit my luxurious dinnerroom lamp... (wooohahaha, I sound like the Bucket lady) . Wait a minute? That's maybe why Chris liked that damn pc so much. It reminded him of an RC plane... "Prettig kerstfeest!", as we say in Flanders... - Iris BE-BRU/CTR X-mas Control
  16. Dear John, Paul and Martian, Thank you very much for the the lovely Christmas wishes... I have been busy trying to get some last minute Christmas gift for Chris since I misplaced the one I bought originally for him and I am still in the process of looking for it... Anyways, I had to buy him a new gift as I predicted I wouldn't be able to locate the original one before Christmas 2020. Now I'm almost bankrupt but I also blame my wallet because there seems to be a hole in it. Chris disagrees... I am not a very 'technical' person like y'all here (as they say in Texas) but I do write a lot of poems. I know this is a building site, but since it is Christmas I hope the moderators here will allow me to post this little poem as a 'gift' for a bit of joy and fun! THE HOLE My wallet has a big huge hole Of that I am quite sure I always put my dough in it But end up very poor My money seems to disappear I don’t know, did I put it here? I thought I had ten bills or so But it all seems to leave, to go And whereto? Well, I just don’t know! But I can tell with ease Once it was there And now it’s not There is quite a decrease! And I frequent the ATM The big money machine And I withdraw a huge amount A stack of seventeen And I put it in my wallet And it looks plenty and fat But a couple of days later My big wallet ends up flat And I tell my friend the problem Of my wallet with its hole And he looks at me in pitty And he wants to be so witty So he agrees, there’s a problem “Money disappears, that’s true But my dear it’s not your wallet The big problem, it is you!” Merry Christmas gents! - Iris BE- BR/CTR Pocket Money Control
  17. Posted by McG 6969 on 05/11/2018 17:46:20: Thanks, Dirk. I guess I became slowly 'insane' since my membership to the forum here. ....   Dear Chris, Don't worry, you did not become 'slowly' insane since becoming a member here... I have always found you a bit insane (amazing)... Your eye for detail is both a blessing and a curse (depending on the situation) but I know I don't have to tell you to keep up what you are doing, because you can't do it in a lesser way... Very proud of your work and sometimes also quite impatient to see the progress... Hakuna etcetera...   Iris BE - BRU / CTR Rush Control Edited By Iris Vlieghe on 11/11/2018 08:47:35
  18. Hi John, First of all sorry about your loss... We all have to go eventually, but I know how hard it is losing a person you love. No, we haven't tied the knot. Both me and Chris have had a prior somewhat unpleasant experience (and in my case that's even a big understatement!). So we have decided to live in sin! Thanks for your comments and we are pleased to have you as a friend here... I hope the mods also excuse this answer... With kind regards, Iris
  19. Posted by john stones 1 on 17/10/2018 19:13:11: Never doubted you Iris, congratulations and well done to both of you. Thank you John, very kind of you. Colin is right though... Chris wears the trousers! I learned something about planes today. Did you know a propeller is just a big fan in front of the plane to keep the pilot cool? When it stops you can actually see the pilot starts sweating. Have a nice evening gents! Hakuna etcetera... - Iris BE-BRU /CTR Fun Control
  20. Thanks Paul and Andy! Chris, back to the build now! Haha, I am getting good at being bossy... Kind regards, Iris
  21. Thanks John... My days are pretty busy and yes, I sometimes require some of Chris's time for the 'project' right now. Referring to one of Chris's former posts about the inverted V. I am not intending to go that way... I want a full one for 'victory'... But keep on building Chris, that's what you love and I your very detailed blog. 24. Posted by john stones 1 on 10/07/2018 11:21:44: Said at start if we can't win it, be nice to have a new name in history books, Belgium/Croatia fit that, some Spurs player in teams tonight, Hugo in goal for France, centre backs for Belgium, then there's Iris to consider....Belgium it is then. Harrys in running for the Golden boot, Lukaku is not far off either....abl. Thanks for the 'consideration' John! Ok, I practiced a cheer for Belgium tonight. Go Belgium, go, go, g... OUCH !!!... I think I strained a muscle or something. I keep forgetting... I am not thirty anymore! Cheers, Iris - Cheer Control
