  1. I’ve got the Freewing F86. It’s a great model..........but you need the very best capacity lipos to get the best out of it. I fly mine with 6s 5000 Optipower Ultra lipos and it’s brill. I only get 3 minutes of flight time but it’s a very exciting 3 minutes. Go for the highest C rated lipos you can afford and you’ll love it
  2. If it’s as good as their 1600mm Spitfire, and I’m sure it will be, you’re in for a treat. Did look at it myself , but I’d already bought the 1700mm FMS Corsair. Saying that you can’t have too many Corsairs 😬😬
  3. Posted by tigerman on 04/08/2017 21:43:25: Sorry for asking dumb questions but I am new to electric flying and it is all new to me .I really like this model and want to order one .My question I think I know the answer but need to be sure before I fork out £380.To save buying yet more lipos.I notice all the reviews on this spitfire are using 6s 5000 lipo battery.I have some 6s 4200 35c battery I use in another model I am sure these will be OK in this spitfire but can someone with a bit more knowledge confirm they will be OK to fly this spitfire without any hang ups The spec does state 6s 4000 to 6s 5000 so it should be OK and I do not really want to buy a load of 6s 5000 lipo .If that is the case I might be better off buying the 1200mm spitfire because I have loads of 4s 4200 lipo which will fly the 1200mm spitfire You won't need any nose weight with a 4000 Lipo , just push it all the way forward. I fly mine with 4000 Turnigy 45c Graphene packs pushed all the way forward. I also use Optipower 5300 60c packs , these are placed in the centre of the battery tray to get the correct C of g. This model is very tolerant of C of g. It's also THE BEST flying Spitfire I've ever had and I've had a few over the years. Your 4200 Lipo's will be spot on
  4. It's still showing a penny under £380 when I clicked the link
  5. Posted by Thomas Barwick on 26/07/2017 18:29:04: Spares will be carried by Reds but are awaiting prices for the spares atm. But if you need a spare please just either email or ring them and they can sort it for you. Personally i cant see the point in saving 20 pounds when if the kit has any defects or problems you then have to deal with the Chinese, also if people don't support the local shops then you wont be able to get spares locally. just my two pence worth As the saying goes , you pays your money and takes your choice.
  6. Just go to RC Castle. I ordered a spare prop and spinner at the same time as the model , all instock. I know the shipping looks expensive at £60 but it's still 20 odd quid cheaper in total. Plus you can be the first at your field to fly one
  7. Spitfire arrived on Saturday , all perfect thanks to the packing from Raymond at RC Castle. Looks really good apart from the undersized pilot. I don't understand why all the warbirds have to have a pilot that is obviously too small for the scale of the aircraft . Cost delivered to my door , including shipping and import duty was £367.38 !
  8. I've ordered mine from RC Castle in Hong Kong. Should arrive next week.
  9. I agree with Denis the LX models are overpriced for what they are. I picked up the 1600mm Corsair second hand , definitely wouldn't have paid £425 for it. The folding wing mechanism is very good though. It flys ok ,not in the same league as an FMS model or Freewing. If you're in the market for an A10, the new release from FMS would be my choice but again it isn't cheap. One of my friends flys the Dynam A10 and for the price it's pretty good and it uses 3S lipos.
  10. Hi Andy. Are you thinking of ordering an LX model per chance ?
  11. Hi Andy What would you like to know? I have the 1600mm LX Corsair from Surrey models if that's any help.
  12. . Posted by Josip Vrandecic -Mes on 04/02/2017 18:08:16: Mr. Colin , I hope it is this : **LINK** Thanks Edited By Josip Vrandecic -Mes on 04/02/2017 18:08:44 Hi Josip, Yes that's the correct link. I'm currently flying the new 1500mm FMS P47. This was my Christmas present from my good lady. I ordered this from RC Castle and by the time shipping and vat were paid I think it was about £320 delivered to my door. It only took 8 days from order to delivery and 4 of those days were in customs awaiting clearance. I don't think the P47 is available in the UK yet and I notice that TJD models have it on pre order for £326.
  13. Fliteline models are stocked by RC Castle in Hong Kong. I've ordered many models and accessories from RC Castle and their service is second to none . The price , even after shipping and import duty, works out about the same as if purchased from a dealer in this country
  14. If you need a 4 stroke engine for a scale model, the only word you need to know.......................                                  LASER.   A flying colleague of mine has the Hanger 9    P 51 Mustang powered by a Laser 100 and it's a great combination.   I know the Laser is more expensive but everything fits within the cowl and there isn't a better engine anywhere.
  15.  I think, and I may be totally wrong here, that Bertie is penned by Alex Whittaker. It just seems to echo Alex's writing style, of which I am a fan. Does anyone else have any theories ?         Colin
