  1. All,

I have a couple of PMs in addition to the above.   When LA wakes up I'm hoping to hear that three I found in Hicksville at under $2 are ordered, then in a week or so I'll place another order for the rest and see if the boy is up for posting them.   If not he's back in June.

I have a pair of those ball drivers Peter, different sizes, bought from MS Leeds I recall.   If you (or anyone else) wants to specify the item, ideally a hyperlink to a US source, I'll add them to the list.

Pro tem, Ron, I'd like one of each of yours but I'll rustle round the boys at the Fun Crash on Monday and try to bulk up the order a bit.   Many thanks in advance.

  2. £45 seems a bit steep.   Paul d T, I have tried with a ground down screwdriver but it can slip too readily.

At $3 US, if I get my son to bring a handful back from L.A. in June, is there an appetite for the proper Sullivan ones?

  3. Have you tried to download the manual for the ARTF version, which can be either IC or neutron powered?   Hatch under the front fus behind cowl, battery strapped to a tray which is secured at the cowl end with a nylon bolt.   Mine flies 5S.

The ARTF has an electrical conversion kit, tray, hatch, standoffs etc and buying one of those might be a start.   4 Max can specify motor, esc, prop etc.

  4. The only one I’ve identified is to see who can drift downwind furthest off-topic without attracting opprobrium from the moderators.

The prolific Ron Gray has adapted my clubmate’s Hanky Planky design into Depron and is running a delightfully risqué-sounding fun fly comp at his club with full details recently posted.

  5. that's part of the problem Ron; some are excellent, e.g. the Harrogate ones near us, whereas the Leeds ones comply with Collinson's First Law of the Public Sector; never get caught in possession of a decision, then you can't lose your pension.   Once spent an absolutely grim Saturday de-cluttering a hoarder's flat, white disposable suits, face masks, the lot; into about 30 black binliners; into my half-decent car; 15 mins to the tip, outside Bromsgrove; no council permit, no tipping.   Literally, ended up in adjacent carpark for the council to collect it on the Monday.

Madness, but it's all about the process, not the outcome.

  6. Would be amazed.   Observationally, the most numerous plane at my club.

Is this perhaps an urban myth based on the horrendous supply chain issues which have been evident for several years?   Latterly they and Acrowots appear periodically and sell out fast, rumoured to be issues getting them off the docks in somewhere to the East of here.

  7. Still can't fathom why nobody has either.   I remain convinced it is/was a product primarily intended for an industrial/other application, as in the scheme of things we modellers are scarcely significant in market volume terms.   Half hoped the Bristows might pick up on it.
