  1. It seems the cc of g is not correct. I am using a3s 2200 lipo. The manual reccomendation and the calculator available on the net differ greatly. On internet enquiry it seems there is need of nose weight. This would apear to be correct as my maiden was very tail heavy. Anyone found the "correct" c of g. Minor damage only on the flight thank goodness..

Its a nice plane that aside

  2. I too have been to the field, made sure hut is clean and placed guidance note in prominent position. Portaloo cleaned and new hand sanitiser. Concerning T & T I created a QR Code so members can use the NHS app and also contact tel number for members to inform of visits. The Rule of Six hmm interesting. Four pilots at any one time for us as for the  rest ......

  3. I see this just continues .

What were we reporting before the reg. I consider little has changed. I recall the webinar the CAA chap was really on interested in the serious matters i.e. injury, damage, the other really need equating by risk of the above. With exception of 400 ft rule and flying within 50m of people.

Most of us fly in remote fields, some share with full sized, and fewer use public parks.

The majority of association members tend to be responsible and err on the side of safety and caution, the majority of accidents (incidents) I have seen or heard of relate to matters on the ground.

We can go on bemoaning. Clarification will come in due course. There will no doubt be an exception to something and possibly an issue settled in Court in the future. Until then carry on as normal.

  4. I think it is good that the Commercial Operators are reporting these things given they are responsible in part for us all having to have restrictions placed upon us as they require the airspace for commercial use. If it means manufactures and operators getting safer we should all applaud. After all you don't want your amazon best china dropping out the sky into the kids pram next door !

  5. Not wishing to pour fuel on the fire, surely we continue as we did before. What have you reported in the past ?

Those incidents that need reporting are as mentioned in the Webinar, i think, incidents involving injury and or damage. Incidents involving manned aircraft I would suggest Flyaways because of their nature we have no knowledge of where they come to earth.

Concerning the 400 ceiling and flying within 50m of people I would venture to suggest we adhere to those anyway.

  6. I am not a practised builder. Am dabbling and trying to acquire and adjust skills. The below is my Wot 4 Uno trainer which I converted 5 years ago. No consideration of c of g etc just made sure the pro cleared the front. I know there will be lots of raised eyebrows but hey ho !

In any event it flies beautifully and I did my A test with it. So as a plane for your partner yes it would be good, mine enjoys it.

  7. I have seen the two calendars in use by members on the forum.

The teamup one requires a subscription if using over 50 participants, my club has over 100. Ron are you paying and if so how much?

Regarding Bravenet Simon, again is this a subscription service, if so does one person open an account and then others access it how much does that cost please ?

I am asking you guys as you are users and not trying to flog me anything.

I created and placed QR codes at the site for the Test and Trace program, and obviously will remain in place until T & T ceases.

  8. The "Rule of Six". How do you go about organising that. Allocating times slots on different days then waiting to see who books what. I have no idea how to set up a digital calendar to allow members to access and use, even for those who are techno savvy. Not all members are on face book and I certainly wouldn't expect someone to take phone calls and mark up a calendar.  Some members will be loathe to turn up till all  are vaccinated and the Gov gives the all clear.  I expect those that do visit the field will be keeping their distance and some even wear masks. Self discipline will be the order of the day and if more than six turn up at a hugh field i am sure common sense will prevail. As an aside given the age of members I am confident most have had at least one injection.

  9. There was an interesting statement this morning by one of the scientist's who has been monitoring the pandemic and the subsequent vaccination program.

There is tentative data to suggest that those vaccinated do not pass on the virus. More data is required to support this early proposition but is certainly sounded positive.

  10. Voice or Audio ?

In any event I use the H switch to arm / disarm the motor on my electric models. I program the switch to "throttle on / throttle off". For some reason this switch will not open any of the audio control, most of the others do with exception of the F switch which only works in position 1. Anyone else experiencing this or have an answer ?

  11. I agree with Graham, the retailers, stockists are probably bemoaning their lack of trade and profit because they don't have anything to sell.

Covid and lockdown are testing the patience of us all and some in the wider modelling world have probably lost their jobs and some small trader maybe gone out of business.

Not Preaching but we have endured so far, so a little longer on the sofa, trying to find something to watch on the telly or cursing the idiots on whinge radio or wearing out the flight sim may be the order of the day.

  12. Have finally got around to fitting spektrum rx to this model which as the Reflex Gyro on board. The manual says to plug the servo leads into the channels as indicated.

That was fun control surfaces all over the place.

Eventually I just plugged them into the conventional channels on the rx and lo it works.

Anyone else have this problem or just me?

  13. Please bare with me, England have lost the Rugby an I have been trying to get the above receiver working.

I had programmed it using the app on my laptop, the mobile phone app with audio cable is...... (choose your own expletive ). Plugged in a servo to test it was working, the RX is not in a plane at the moment, having bound it and nothing happened.

    Re bound it nothing happened.

Went back to program to ensure nothing a miss, then queried goglenet, for potential answer, suggestion make sure remote aerial plugged in L not B socket, . Changed it over re bound nothing happened. Have no hair so no tearing but very close to winning receiver hurling competition.

So plugged both remote aerials in re bound, many flashing lights and lo it works.

SO YOU NEED BOTH REMOTE AERIALS PLUGGED IN TO BIND.

Hope that helps anyone else on verge of despair
