  1. May not work for everyone but have lost the undercarriage plate ue to long grass or ahem, nearly perfect landings.

I have found using nylon screws/bolts is a good solution as this pull out leaving everything else intact. Just replace them with new ones.

  2. Thanks Alan, I have the manual and couldn't find anything in there re control surface parameters, it has the tx setup for the AS3 X and details for engine setup. All very useful I guess it will have to be a gentle maiden flight and easy on the controls....

  3. Sutton Coldfield Radio Control Aero Club has been around for well over 60yrs. Currently the club uses its Fradley site which has both tarmac and grass runways and caters for fixed wing and multi rotor advocates.

Due to HS 2 the club are having to relocate and have secured a site at Hademore near Lichfield. It is a grass runway with space for both disciplines. It is hoped that a new cub hut and toilet block will be up and running in the near future certainly in time for the funfly later this year.

The club is open to new members so please look us up

  4. Well we have just signed the lease for our new site. So currently we have two locations to fly from.

    http://www.scrcac.bmfa.org for more info.

RE HS2 I was recently chatting with a local farmer, apparently he and one or two others are still owed money by HS 2 I am surprised they haven't grouped together to take a 'class action' through the Court.

I have also been told, though have no veracity concerning the source, that the Treasury have let it be known there isn't funding for the project and is unlikely to be so until 2030

  5. I have a Unique T6 Texan also known as a PC 9.

The limited photo instructions do not give information on the c of g.

Using the appropriate formulae c of g works out at 80 -85 mm from leading edge.

You tube, font of knowledge, (cess pool of idiocy) has a coupe of videos. One shows removal of epo inside cockpit to house lipo. I am not a great fan of removing material which may damage structural integrity. I have placed my weight at the rear of the aircraft under the tail. I removed part of the moulded skid and placed the weight at that site some 130grms !.

That just about gets it right.

A flying colleague has the same model and he too has some 5oz at the rear.

The aircraft flies well on that weight, I have yet to maiden mine.

Have any of you had to sort the c of g for this plane.

  6. The Scotland France was great. The were more French in Kilts than the natives.

Good result for Scotland. Hope they turn up to give a better game against England than last year. Figure they must have left their team on the coach.

Looking forward to a full blooded game.

  7. At SCRCAC we have a four point tarmac runway and separate field for rotary so was quite a neat set up. We have recently found a new field however we may have to move from that to another location, same landowner, so not all bad as we have found somewhere.

Really not sure how we stand with any compensation as I suspect HS 2 wont tell us to leave but we wont fly if people are working on site for obvious safety reasons. That way they could argue we left of our own volition.

I suspect we still have 12 months before any work starts though they have been surveying.

  8. The club I belong to (SCRCAC) is having to relocate due to the route being taken by HS 2.

Something I don't believe we need (that may cause some controversy).

Any other clubs suffering the same fate
