  1. Just look the Futaba T8J transmitter on Ripmax web site and it looks like it has been replaced by the Futaba 10J transmitter so not sure which one to get?
  2. Have been thinking for a while about changing my Transmitter.I have two nice model ,a 72" Gipsy Moth and a similar size Harvard. I have been flying them on a Spectrum D6 ( not D6i )Having listened to all the debate about the DX6 and its problems or not I have become totally confused to weather the DX6 is reliable or not but I am not prepared to risk these 2 models so as all my other model are on Futaba I think I will put these 2 model on a Futaba transmitter just to be sure.I like the look of the Futaba 8J transmitter.,I take it this transmitter the 8J will not work with the Futaba 617 FS receiver but that is not a problem because the Transmitter comes with a R2008 SB receiver and it just means I will buy another R2008SB to go in the 2 models ,What is this transmitter like do not want to spend just under £300 just to find myself back at square one and find this transmitters has it.'s problems.A little fed back would be welcome if you have a Futaba 8J transmitter I would like to know what they are like. Anyone want to buy a DX6 ???? yes I know the answer to that "NO THANKS" .
  3. I would not worry about the little stutter when you start the Hurricane ,I have one of the Hurricane and it does that but it does not effect the flying of the Hurricane and again the Hurricane fly well .The esc on the Tempest just would not work under load ,it was fine with out a prop on but once you put the prop on it just stutter and would not work totally different to the stutter on the Hurricane .I think the moral of the story is the Dynam esc are crap and you need to put a decent esc on them ,saying that they are still a good buy in my opinion CMC model are replacing the esc no problem and no stupid things like can you take a photo unlike a certain company in the Far East who's name I will not mention
  4. Well I have finished building the Dynam Tempest ,had to change the speed controller the one that came with it was u/s .I have just come back from the maiden flight .It fly really well ,but yes it is prone to nose over.I am lucky in the fact that our flying field is an old World War 2 airfield and have a grass strip and we can also fly of the old runway because with the grass being a bit long this time of year there was no way the Tempest would take of on the grass without nosing over so I used the old runway and she was up in a very short distance (not sure if it will take off on short grass it noses over very easy )Has I said she fly really well and looks good Yes I am pleased with it a good little buy .Roll on the summer with those long and hopefully sunny evening
  5. I have just put 2 large models ( and expensive ) on my DX6 (not DX6i ) A few members at our local flying site that that was not a good move due to the Unreliability of the DX6 .They said that the mother board are suspect and I would be advise to put these 2 model on a Futaba or different transmitter. This can not be true Spektrum would not put out a doggy transmitter are these people right or are they just anti Spektrum
  6. Mmm is it me or are other people finding Horzion Hobby products are not has good has they used to be.I seem to be seeing a lot of problems with there products creeping in For instance I have given up on my Blade helicopter ,they cost more on parts going wrong ie I spent more on servo for my helicopters then the helicopters cost!!! I also read there are some problems with the DR6 transmitters and a few people at our club have problems with there e-flite models electrics going wrong and it now looks like there are a few problems with the new 130s.Yes I know they will sort the problems out and there customer service is outstanding but there products to me seemed to be having a few problems. Our is it just me ?
  7. Yes must admit a brilliant video ,mmmmmm? Spitfire mk 1a or a Tempest ,boy it is a hard life all these life changing decisions!
  8. I see what you mean two nice models,I already have a ic spitfire and have always like the Typhoon/Tempest so I still might go for the Dynam Tempest, I will most properly order one on Monday but it would be nice to know what they fly like. They must fly very similar to the Hurricane it is almost the same model have been told that the Cof G in the manual states 50/60 mm from the leading edge but it is recommend that it is better at 70mm from the leading edge.Which is fine but I am always at bit weary of not taken the advice of the manual .Come on someone out there .there must be someone out there that has a Dynam Tempest
  9. Now that I have ditched all my Helicopters ( boy where they expensive to maintain )I have some surplus money to spend.I am looking at buying the Dynam Tempest I already have the Dynam Hurricane and love it .I presume the Tempest fly very similar to the Dynam Hurricane .Anyone can confirm this and I have been told the C of G on the Tempest wants adjusting to what the manual recomends.Would be gratefully if someone could advise me on what Cof G I should use on the Tempest and tell me what it fly likes
  10. Anyone know if the Savox SHO257 micro servo will replace the E-Flite 176T servo on my Blade 300x.Fed up replacing the E-Flite servos on my Blade 300x
  11. Me to that why I joined this forum ! Edited By tigerman on 21/02/2017 15:19:14
  12. Finally decided to buy myself the new Blade 250cfx helicopter with the new Safe Technology. Not sure how this works.I know that if you get disorientated with the helicopter you press the bind button and the helicopter will right it's self ,my question is when you bind the helicopter to your transmitter does this Safe Technology automatically bind to the bind button or is it more complicated than that and how good is this Safe Technology is it just a gimmick to get you to but the helicopter?
  13. No I did not know about the 130s ,look on Horizon Hobby's web site look's interesting Can not find it in any of the model shops so I take it it is not out yet.. Do you know when it is due out?
  14. Not sure what to do with ref my Helicopter flying.I would have to say I think I am at the intermediate stage .I have a Blade 130X and love it .Then I went on to the 300X and the 450x but could not get on with these .Seemed to cost a fortune on them where has the little 130x cost hardly anything is seems to bounce on crashes and 9 times out of ten you just pick it up and fly it again ,not so the 300x and the 450x.So I have decided to stay with little ones .I am content in just flying these not bothered with the big hellies.I was thinking of getting the Blade 250cfx but then I thought I am going back to the bigger helicopters so I fancy the Blade 180cfx ,so that the one I am going for .Anyone tell we how different the 180cfx is to the 130x
  15. Yes I have joined a club and have my BMFA membership ( you would have to be a complete idiot to fly without insurance)The club I am in is mainly fix wing with only one other person that fly helicopter and with out being rude I would not like to fly like him ,he scares me and how he does not crash is a mystery to me.I do not think he realizes that a helicopter has a rudder!.Thanks for your advise I will persevere with it .It is not the crashing that has been the problem, it is that I seemed to have had a lot of parts fail or wear out quickly but you are right the more you fly the less you crash. If the damage was through crashing I could cope with that it just that I keep paying out for parts that are crap.I am sure thing will get better
  16. Bit confusing ,on the Blade 180CFX a lot of the main Modeling Shops do not have them in stock .Just wondering have Horizon Hobby stop making them??????????? Edited By tigerman on 16/02/2017 15:58:25
  17. Been flying my Blade 130X now for a while .I have been thinking of upgrading to the Blade 180CFX .I have been told the 180CFX is a lot better then the old 130X.I am not bother about 3-D flying ,just like to fly in circles and fig of 8.I am fed up with the bigger helicopter (cost a fortune after a crash).I have a small field at the bottom of my garden I can fly the smaller helicopters in .Just like to find out what people think of the Blade 180CFX and if it has any problems I should now of.Be gratful if I could get some feed back before I buy one .Thanks
  18. I did not want say the make of it but I will it was a Blade 300X and a 450. I must of been unlucky. Now I have had my rant I think I will persevere with the helicopters I have sold the 300X and the 450 .I have decided to stay with the helicopter but I have decided to stay with the smaller type helicopters because my little Blade 130X has been no problem with it and when it crashes it it just bounces with very little damage and also I can fly it a small field at the back of garden .So next question is I have been looking at getting the Blade 180CFX.or the Align 150 not sure which is the best ,any suggestions please
  19. I have just taught myself to fly helicopter .I can honestly say I can fly these Helicopter with no problems now.I have only flown electric helicopters from a well know brand .and had nothing but problems with these helicopter going wrong (not from crashing just parts failing) I have just come home from a session down our club flying field and now the gear cog on the electric motor has sheared of for no reason ,just crap parts.I have lost count of the money this is costing me and if this a part of flying helicopter you can keep it This was on a 450 size helicopter. Is this part of flying helicopters or are there some more reliable helicopter out there because I refused to buy anymore parts for this helicopter I think I could almost of brought a full size one by now .I have decided to go back to fix wing flying .It is a lot cheaper. No more helicopter for me
  20. I have taken" brokenenglish" advice and taken the engine of the bearer and luckily I had a engine bearer the same and did it again and have taken my time this time and have got right this time. Lesson learnt ,do not rush it take your time!!!!!!!
  21. Just built a Wot 4,not flown the Wot 4 yet .Looking at the way I have installed the engine I might have to much down thrust ( rush it to much and have the engine a little bit facing down on the engine bearers ).What will be the effect of a model with to much down thrust Will still be safe to fly ???????????.Thought I would find out before I test fly it!!!!
  22. I have a OS 52 four stroke and need to find a scalish model to put it in .It will have to be ARTF .Would like to put it in a Piper Cub if possible. I am finding it hard to find a ARTF model that will be suitable for the OS 52 .It seems the only ARTF model out there are for big petrol engines now .What has happened to all the models for small 4 strokes? ( The only model I can find to put my OS 52 in is the Wot 4 .A good model but I have had several Wot 4 and need something else) Seems a shame to have this 52 doing nothing!!!
  23. Yes I with you on this.Went on a web site for a popular model shop ( which I will not name )On their web site it stated that the model was in stock Luckily I rang to make sure it was in stock before making a round trip of 100 miles.to collect it only to be told that it was not in stock ,they only order it when someone want one and it would take 7 days to get one in stock!!!!!!!!!!!.Good job I rang before making the trip
  24. Jon was right I had the same problem but like Jon said I play about with the slow running jet and got to tickover a treat,no need for an on board glow,By the way the Top flite Texan fly a dream on the Laser 80,more than enough power I fly it around on about half throttle,it will go vertical on full power but that does not look scale so half throttle is enough for me!
  25. Have a laser 80 fitted inverted run OK but thinking of fitting an On Board Glow to the model .Have been impressed by other models at our model flying site with On Board Glows fitted that are so easy to start and seem to be so reliable. What the general opinion on On Board Glow are they what they seem or are there some down side to them? Would be interested to see what the for and against are before I proceed with fitting one!
