  1. Never like Hobby King but was persuaded to by a lipo charger from them (Europe Branch ) .I order the charger and was told if I used the non track shipment and the parcel was to go missing Hobby King would not except liability for the missing parcel ( not sure they can do that ) Was advised to send it tracked Non tract was £8 shipment Tracked was £14 ,£6 difference .I paid to have the shipment tracked and paid the extra £6 total £14 to have the parcel tracked .once this shipment was despatched ,I could not find any tracking number .Contacted Hobby King who confirmed it had been sent non tracked (£8 I paid for it to be tracked £14 ) I ask why this parcel had been sent un tracked when I had paid for a tracked delivery .I was told by Hobby King the only shipment for this charger was non track .I then ask for the £6 extra I had paid to have it tracked to be refunded to me because they had sent it untrack .Hobby King said they could only give me a £6 credit note ,I told them legally I should get a full refund of the extra £6 I paid for the shipment to be sent tracked ,After a few word they agreed to refund me the £6 .but I have never received this refund from Hobby King despite several conversation where they promised this £6 would be refunded .That was over a month ago and it is obvious Hobby King have no intention of refunding me this £6 .Basically Hobby King have conned me out of the £6 .Just beware if you order from Hobby King and you do not fall for this scam .I will never under any circumstance buy from Hobby King ever again
  2. Thanks Nigel so if I solder the little red lead to the main red lead from the esc it will not blow the receiver or any thing like that .Electric is not my strong point ,has you can properly gather ?
  3. Have a Spektrum AR 8020T receiver and I have connected the red telemetry wire to the red wire to the red wire on the balance lead of the lipo and it works fine. My question is can I solder the red telemetry wire to the main red lead from the ESC instead of plugging it in to the red balance lead ,save messing about plugging the little red lead into the balance lead ????
  4. Does anyone know when the Eflite 80mm F 16 is due in .Some shops are saying 7 July other are saying 10 September .As it is now the 9 July it is looking more like 10 September .This Covid virus has a lot to answear for
  5. Thanks The Savox servo look good I go with them Thanks
  6. Thanks Denis .I try that
  7. We have a new member joined our club and needs a hand to fly .The problem is he has a DX6 and I have a DX6 and want to set up a buddy system between the 2 DX6 No problem because we can connect both DX6 wireless .The problem is the trainee is mode 1 and I am mode 2 .I can not fly on mode 1 and he can not fly on mode 2 .Is there any way I can use my DX6 has the main transmitter on mode 2 and connect to he's DX6 on mode 1 .In other words can one transmitter be on mode 1 and the other on mode 2 .After reading the instruction manual it looks like both transmitters both have to be on mode 1 or both on mode 2 .Am I right you can not have the master transmitter on mode 2 and the slave transmitter on mode 1 ?????
  8. Just seen a Hanger 9 Carbon Cub fly .Love it and must have one .The one I saw flying was electric powered .I am an IC Guy but can never work out what is the best engine to fit .I have already brought the Hanger 9 Carbon Cub kit ,now I need someone to recommend what size engine .I know the make I will fit a Saito four stoke I know it states a 15 cc petrol engine (hate petrol engines ) so what Saito four stoke engine will be the best combination for this Carbon Cub .I asked the model shop where I brought the kit from and he recommended the Saito 125 a four stoke but surely that will be over the top .So would the Saito 100 four stoke be ideal .The Saito 82b might not have the power ,or will it ??????.So what would be best the Saito 100 or the Saito 82b ???.I am crap at judging what engine to fit .I brought the Seagull Gypsy Moth and put am 80 four stoke in that and now I wish I had put a 100 four stoke in that .Do not want to make the same mistake ,so thought I would ask someone who would now better then me
  9. Anyone know what has happened to Black Horse Models .Looking for the big Chipmunk but it looks like it is out of stock every where ,as is all Black Horse Models Has Black Horse Models gone out of business and no longer with us ????????????????
  10. Think I will play it safe and order some 10 gauge wire for the adaptor .That is what FMS are installing on their model then the 10 gauge must be OK Thanks everyone
  11. Need to make an adapter for my FMS Rafale . It has a XT 90 connecter and all my batteries are XT150 connecters so I am going to make an adapter up with a XT 90 to fit on the lead from the esc and then a XT 150 connecter so I can connect the lead to my lipo .I do not want to cut of the XT 90 connecter on the model because there will not be enough room to solder the XT150 directly on to the esc lead and I do not want to mess about removing the esc lead from the model .I have only have 12 gauge wire and I have been told I should use 10 gauge wire for this adapter because it is powered by a 6s lipo but will the 12 gauge wire be OK to use for a 6s adapter ?
  12. Thanks everyone .I did what you all surgested and played with the contrast and backlight and it is fine now ,Great
  13. Just brought a new DX8 .IT is all OK and works fine but the LED Display if I leave it in a cold room is hard to read but if you move to a warmer room and give the transmitter time to warm it is fine .Is this normal or do I have a problem with the DX8
  14. Finally the penny has drop .I did what Frank told me to do and everyone will be relived to know it works .Phew sorry for being a pain but thanks everyone for helping me out here. I leave you all in peace now .Thanks?
  15. So if I take the little lead that is plug into the volt socket and make up a connecter with my E 5 connecters and solder the red lead to the red lead from my Lipos and the black lead to my black lead from my Lipo then connect that to the battery will that work OK and not damage the receiver
  16. Sorry but still confused .So the little lead plugs into the volt socket on the receiver but still not sure where the black and red lead goes .Basically how do I get my AR8020T receiver to show my battery voltage on the Transmitter .I do not want to solder it to the esc in fear of blowing up the receiver .From want I can see there is no different from this £75 AR8020T receiver to the the £35 AR620 receiver only the AR620 is 6 channels and the AR 8020T is 8 channel On both receivers the AR8020T and the AR620 I still get details in the flight log ?????Sorry this might seem a dumb question to most but I am totally confused on how to get the the telemetry to work on my DX8 .Futaba do an 8 channel receiver for £53 ,I know that does not have telemetry but I can not get the AR8020T to display telemetry either .Do I have to buy a satellite receiver to archive telemetry ?
  17. I take it you can not delete your old post on this new site ?
  18. Just brought a Spektrum AR 8020T receiver. I am new to Spextrum and also never had a telemetry receiver .I am a bit confused ,it comes with a little red and black lead .The only place it will fit is in the socket mark Volts .My question is where do you stick ( polite answear only please ,I know where most of you will tell me to stick it ! )the other end of the lead ,not sure where you need to connect this lead to .The ends are strip off so it looks like it has to fit somewhere but where ????
  19. So what the hell happened to the FMS Rafale ? It has been over 6 months now and I have heard some rumours that the FMS Rafale had a lot of problems from the outset .Think FMS might have shot themselves in the foot with this one .Even a well no blocker test flew it and promised to follow the video up but never did .Which tells me every think I need to know ,Cancelled my Rafale order and brought the Freewing Gripen instead
  20. Thanks Zflyer .I am sure the AR 8020T will be fine I think I will order one .Thinking about it I do not have much choice
  21. Just swop all my radio over from Futaba to Spektrum radio .Most of my model are 6 channels and have been using the brilliant little AR620 receiver but I now have an EDF and I am going to fit a gyro so I need an 8 channel receiver The only Spektrum 8 channel receiver I can find that is in stock at the moment is the AR 8020T receiver .Anyone tell me if the AT 8020T receiver is any good for an 80mm EDF with a gyro .Has I said I am new to Spektrum Radio and not sure if the AR8020T receive is OK .I would think it is OK for what I want but at £75 want to make sure before I buy one .Thanks
  22. I afraid I agree with you Simon. I just brought the Freewing Gripen From Motion RC .Advertised price £380 .I knew about the VAT thing but it ended up for whatever reason a lot more them £380 with the exchange rate ,handling charge etc .That is the last model I buy from Motion RC
