  1. Fingers crossed for you Lucas. It seems our hobby is under pressure everywhere what with the new drone legislation coming in. What do you mean about servo in the wing glider style ? I thought the original only had the servo arm exposed. What am I missing ? Tim
  2. Just not in stock in U.K. I have just emailed hi asking when? Tim
  3. Martin/Lucas, Funnily enough I looked at Jacinth last week and backed off ordering for the same reason. I may give in eventually! Tim
  4. Old habits I think Lucas; it always used to be a hole for the aileron servo which then used pushrods and bell cranks to drive the ailerons. So now rather than just a hole i still leave a box. Might sheet it might not. Just enjoying myself really. I have looked at a few biplane colour schemes and I am leaning to a version of the iconic Great Lakes two tone fan across the wings if you know what i mean. Probably red and blue. You not a fan of the HK film then Martin? Tim
  5. Thank you Dwain, always good to get encouragement. Tim
  6. And before a glass of wine, another bit of bench flying !
  7. Lower wing pretty complete save shaping LE , sanding tips and general sanding.
  8. Here is how I eventually did the tip. Perhaps 6mm wood was overkill but it feels really solid (and very flat underneath). Now for the starboard tip.
  9. I think there has only been one rear end failure, perhaps because we have all been extra cautious but I suspect it was probably down to the sides having been too hard a balsa for some reason. Acquired the threaded inserts you mentioned. I think I will use them for the strut attachments as well as the cabane struts. They look very neet. Tim
  10. Like minds there Lucas . That's pretty much what I had in mind, plus a 6 mm the other side of the rib too. I think I shall make the actual tip thicker too by adding some strip. Tim
  11. Started on the lower wings. I think aesthetically since the wing is a flat bottom I prefer a flat bottom to the tips as well. Seems easy enough to take all the chamfer out on the top side. I plan to shorten the aileron by 6mm so as to provide a good te join.. Tim
  12. Looked at the original blog again. See what you mean Martin. Definitely some 'ribbing' underneath as well as on top but not symmetrical by a long shot. Sounds like your solution is closest to the original. Tim
  13. True Lucas but depends how much it needs to come off to get a fixing. Certainly a whole bay would be too much you are right. I will have a closer look later ..... Tim
  14. Thanks team, I must have missed any comments on this in the blogs. I went for a fly while you sorted me out. Will have another look later. Perhaps a 1 bay shorter aileron would help the te fixing? Tim
  15. I may be getting a bit senile but the section through the wing tip shown on the plan seems to show a symmetrical section tip rather than a flat bottom as per the rest of the wing. I see you have all built it as a flat bottom and shamfered in from the top down which is what I was expecting to be shown on the plan. Must stop trying to read the plan and just build it ! Tim
  16. I like bench flying, there aught to be a special club for it. Tim
  17. Couldn't decide on anything but the sun came out so I went for a fly.
