  1. So being frugal I returned it to its cut out, applied cyno to the join and re-made the part.
  2. Not sure if anyone else has noticed but the 6mm cowl underside is drawn 20mm to narrow at the 'wide' end. That is 10mm each side. Hence the cnc part is also too narrow.
  3. I made the u/c plate a bit thicker by using a 6mm ply plate inset between 3&3a. Then a 3mm ply plate on top. The 6 mm inset sits just clear of the wing dowel.
  4. Little irritating. Added the underside sheeting as per the plan in 2mm sheet forgetting the tail plate was 3mm ply. Now I have a 1mm ridge. I say the original build had used 3mm sheet, perhaps that where the glitch came from. Ah well not too serious .
  5. So while musing over hatch latching (still not decided which method, perhaps both) I put in the control runs and then the rear stringers.
  6. Never realised they were readily available, spoilt for choice as you say and cheap. I guess if none of you has lost a hatch yet, then magnets it is. Thanks Tim
  7. Anyone got any tips on modern day hatch fixing. Are the magnets Lindsey used de-rigour ? Not yet looked where you get such magnets from but they certainly weren't around last time I built a hatch. Tim
  8. Made up the cabane struts. All seem to be in the correct plane. There were two failures on the way.
  9. Bit like applying rapid full throttle with full flap, a thing to be avoided. Tim
  10. Doesn't look like slow building to me Martin, quite the opposite. Laminated tips seem to be catching on . Tim
  11. I think the spinner makes it look more.Calculated to cross the centre line at the prop driver which looks to be about right. we will see. Well currently i have a 3200 that I use in the the Riot XL so i may just get another if the setup works ok. Tim
  12. The power of ammonia? Admittedly it did not take as much pressure as I had been expecting but having clamped the tail posts together I gave each side, inside and out, below the tail seat a coat of ammonia. Left it couple of hours and took the clamp off to find it had pretty much set in the right position. Hopefully no dramas after it has been glued.
